Chapter 31

Blaze and the demons left once everyone was sleeping and slipped away into the dark streets.

"How are we going to get home?" Blaze asked. Inasa reached into her pocket and pulled out a black pearl.

"You had that with you this whole time?" Blaze asked. Inasa gave her a look and Blaze returned it.

"My mother teaches me things..." Inasa said with a chuckle. She dropped the pearl and crushed it under her boot. It had a strange crunching noise as it was destroyed.

A portal appeared in front of them and showed their home, oh how Blaze missed it.

"My lady." Inasa said as she moved out of the way and gestured to the door. Blaze playfully glared at her and stepped through the portal.

The heat reached her flesh and she couldn't help but feel joyful about being home after so long.

She snapped her head to the left when she heard mad barking. It was Spark!

"Spark! Come here boy!" She called to him. The dog raced over and into her arms, licking her face and wagging his tail so fast Blaze thought it would fall off.

"You know this dog?" Talim asked. Blaze giggled and looked up at her friends.

"Yes, he helped me survive on the streets and would bring me food and supplIes. But he got hit by a car..." Blaze stopped herself.

"Did all the stealing you do make you come down here in death?" Blaze asked. Spark barked a few more times like he didn't notice her talking, not like he could understand her anyway.

"He's cute." Inasa said, leaning down to pet him.

"I missed him." Blaze whispered. Spark barked and ran off, then ran back and continued to repeat his actions.

"He wants us to follow him." Blaze said.

"No duh." She heard Talims smart retort, quickly silenced by a growl from Gar.

Blaze ran after Spark and leapt over rocks in the lava pools and the sidewalks, oh how she missed Hell.
