Chapter 15
"Wake up." Blaze heard Gar whispered, poking her in the side. Blaze grumbled and got up, using her fingers to comb at her black hair.
"I'm up." She mumbled and climbed out of her hammock.
"Well don't get to woken up, you're going back to sleep for a long time anyway." Gar said. Blaze glared at him.
"Do you think this is a joke Gar? I wont be able to see you or Inasa again for a long time. Once I get to Earth, I have to find my way back, and how am I supposed to explain this all to you guys when your memory is erased?!" Blaze demanded, little flames of tears falling from her eyes. Gar cornered her up against one of the wooden pillars in the tent.
"You think we, I, don't know that Blaze? I will miss you, you were my only friend beside Inasa, even my own father treats me like one of his students and nothing more." Gar growled, his eyes glowing and a light emitting from his throat.
"Your father..." Blaze whispered.
"My father is Clawface Blaze. See, you can't even tell." Gar said. looking away from her. Blaze looked down at the ground.
"I'm sorry Gar. I didn't realize that." Blaze apologized, looking back up at him. Gar looked her in the eye. Blaze put a hand up to his cheek and Gar held her wrist.
They slowly leaned toward each other, the distance closing. Blaze felt his lips connect with her soft ones as they kissed, a small one, as though it were a goodbye. Gar pulled her close and held her for a moment, cherishing the he was finally kissing her.
Blaze pulled away and sobbed against his chest.
"I don't want to sleep Gar, I want to learn with you three, train and teach!" Blaze cried, wrapping her arms tightly around his abdomen. Gar stroked her hair comfortingly.
"I will ensure that happens Blaze. I will be the one to awaken you. I will search for a way for you to find us, how to meet us again and explain it to us." Gar whispered, mumbling his eternal promise into her hair, his eyes squeezed shut, keeping himself from shedding any tears.
"Keep that promise Gar! Swear to me you will!" Blaze said, pulling away and looking up at him, her flaming tears on her red cheeks.
"I swear Blaze." He said solemnly. Blaze buried her head back into his chest and struggled to regain her composure.
"It's alright Blaze, I'll be there to wake you up." Gar whispered soothingly.
