After their first D-ranked mission, team eight dispersed as Kurenai went to file a mission report. Tyen, appeared in the Hokage's office.
"Change me to team seven." She ordered. He nodded just as team seven themselves burst in. Tyen ignored their ramblings and stared into the eyes of an Uchiha whom was also staring at her. Team seven, finally seeming to notice her, gasped.
"When did you get here Tyen-san?" Sakura asked.
"I have been present since before you all entered. I am now on your team and shall be accompanying you on your next mission." She said. Kakashi looked to the hokage for confirmation and groaned as Sarutobi nodded.
"You may come in now." The hokage called. The smell of sake filled the room as an old drunk entered. Tyen once again ignored them and examined the old man. She looked into his past and examined every possible future before nodding to herself.
"That creepy one... she's guarding me too?" Tazuna asked as the Hokage's and Kakashi's eyes widened in fear. Tyen merely cocked her head.
"It is unwise to badmouth the very people whom you've hired to protect you. If you value your pathetically worthless life, I suggest you show some respect. Despite how ephemeral the remainder of your pitiful life will be, you've hired us to escort you safely back to your country so that you may save them from poverty. It is especially stupid of you to disrespect the people whom you are depending on to get you back safely so that you can save the lives of others. By disrespecting us, you are further endangering yourself and your poverty stricken country. Do not continue to act ignorantly." She said without a hint of emotion in her voice or on her face. Tazuna paled before nodding rapidly.
"Sarutobi," she turned to look at the hokage "see to it that somebody further investigates the land of waves and the land of wind. I have business to attend to." She said before disappearing.
"What's ephemeral?" Naruto asked.
"Ephemeral means short-lived." Kakashi answered. Sasuke only had one question on his mind; why did she get away with ordering the hokage?
And Sakura, was being Sakura.
She's so scary....
