Chapter 13

CHAPTER 13

"Finally" Sean murmured as the fight ended. Not because he didn't like it. But because of the kissing noises, we heard during the fight which made me and Sean cringe.

Jeez! Get a room guys!

I sighed and shook my head in disappointment.

I didn't really take Juan as a fan of PDA since she was really shy and all. But, looks like I was wrong, considering what I just witnessed. But hey! looks can be deceiving.

Damn. Both of them must be really whipped. I really wish they stay together till the end.

I smiled softly and looked down.

"Hello, Brownie. Miss me?" A husky voice echoed in my ears.

My eyebrows scrunched up together in confusion. I turned my head up to meet the mystery man's elevated eyes.

My eyes widen as I saw a familiar mask on a man's face, that i had seen before. He was the same man that had challenged me.

I turned my head in both the directions as I looked around for my friends who had just accompanied me. To my misfortune, they were nowhere to be seen.

I looked back at him.

"Why are you here?" I asked him with a frown.

"Well, you see, you still have a promise to keep." He reminded. I rolled my eyes.

"Of Course" I mumbled. "So, What's up Blaire" He asked to which I scoffed at.

"You know... it's not really fair. That, you get to know my name and how my face looks like while I know nothing about you" I raised which earned me a smirk.

"You may call me Master." He said coolly. My cheeks heat up. "Give me your name!" I demanded as he chuckled.

God! This man is already getting on my nerves.

"Syed" He said.

"Huh?"

"The name's Syed." He introduced. I nodded.

What an unusual name... unless...

"Are you Muslim?" The question slipped out on impulse. He shook his head.

"You see, I am just like you. Persian but an Agnosist" He explained to which I nodded and looked down.

My eyes widen.

"What more do you know about me?" I asked seriously looking at his eyes.

"Enough" He replied.

I rose my eyebrow. "Enough for what?".

"You don't need to know that" He said as he walked away from me. I followed.

"What do you mean by that?" I frowned. "You'll find out soon brownie. Until then, be patient" He turned back and ruffled my hair which caused my frown to deepen as I fixed back my ponytail.

"Alright. Are you ready?"

I paused and looked at him. "Ready for what?" I frowned again.

Seriously mann.. if I stay with him any much longer I might as well have frown lines on my face permanently.

"Let's find out, shall we?"

The next thing I know, I was pounding my fists against Syed's back and screaming at him to let me go, as he carried me effortlessly over his shoulder, to god knows where.

"Let go!" I shrieked.

"Now, why would I do that?" I huffed and slouched down.

There was no way I could get out of his stronghold. The only thing I can do is pray to god (Even though I don't) for not to get mercilessly slaughtered and get my organs sold to China.

In about two minutes, I was thrown into the front seat of some fancy car, like a bag of potatoes. I quickly reacted to open the car's door but Syed had already locked it from outside as he walked towards to drivers with a satisfied victory smirk.

I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.

"What about my friends?" I asked as I threw my hands all over the place. He started the ignition and pulled it out of the lot.

"They are already been taken care off" He replied calmly.

I narrowed my eyes.

"What do you mean by 'taken care off'?" I asked suspiciously.

"Well, when you were daydreaming about something, I asked your friends if I can take you out somewhere, they immediately recognized me as the man who's ass was handed back by you and agreed to take you with me thinking that it was probably the thing you asked for when you won." He said.

Amazing friends I've got there.

"They also strictly instructed me to bring you back to your house before twelve" he said as he quickly glanced at me.

I gazed at the time displayed on the car's monitor.

9:00 pm

Great. I still have three long hours to tolerate with him.

I looked around the interior of the car. It was pretty fancy, but I still didn't know what it was. I am not a big fan of cars. I prefer motorcycles.

"I thought you will be having a motorcycle just like the other clichéd bad boys." I said honestly frowning.

He smirked. "Well, I am not your typical bad boy, Brownie"

I scowled. "Would you stop calling me that?! brownie?! I mean who even calls people like that.?! You need to stop!"

"Sure" he paused. "princess" he added. I rolled my eyes and huffed. I would rather prefer brownie than a princess.

"But still! that's such a weird name?! brownie?! what the hell was that supposed to mean anyway?" I retorted.

"You seem tanned and sculpted just like one. I would also eat you up in no time. So the name, Brownie" he explained.

And that's when I pretended that no one sat next to me. In fact, that was such a racist thing to say.

Within a few minutes, we were parked in front of what seemed like a tall building. I didn't really know where we were cause I was too annoyed to even bother looking out of the window to see where we were headed to.

I opened the door and stepped out of the car. My eyes scanned my surroundings to find myself in an isolated forest.

I scowled and turned to look at Syed.

"Is this the part where you feed me to the wolves?" I asked.

He chuckled and shook his head.

"Oh, trust me. If I wanted to kill you, I would've done it a long time ago." I blinked. "Like the time where you lost to me with your pathetic fighting", He added.

I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms. "I had just fought my ass off, before you came. You can't just expect me to fight two bulky men in a row" I averted my eyes to the side-downwards direction.

"Besides, you are not that muscular either. I could've taken you down" I mumbled to myself.

"What?"

I shook my head and smiled sweetly. "Alright. Where are we headed towards?"

"You'll see"

I groaned. "Oh, Come on!"

He rolled his eyes. "Just follow me" He nodded his head towards the never-ending woods.

I made a face and did as he told me to.

What I am doing is totally inscrutable and crazy. I mean, not everyone just follows a stranger into an abandoned forest and does whatever he commands. I am sane enough to know that. But, there isn't anything I can do about this. I can never make it. Even If I attempt to escape, I am sure I will be back on his shoulder. And showing off my butt in his face really isn't something I am looking forward to.

I sighed and continued to follow him cautiously. If he tries to do something, then I'll just try to fight him off. Keyword try. Besides I hadn't had a fight with someone for a while.

We continued to walk for what felt like hours despite my watch's hands that had just traced 15 segments

I sighed frustrated. "Are we there yet?" I asked Syed as I quickened my pace to meet with his.

He shook his head and continued walking not even sparing a glance at me.

"How much more time?" I asked growing impatient as the clocks ticked.

He took a deep breath. "A minute"

My eyes grew wide as I searched around my surrounding to find a place that had interested Mr. Grumpy over here so much.

I saw nothing. Absolutely nothing. I narrowed my eyes at the back of his head.

"Where?!" I exclaimed. "I see nothing!"

He continued to walk with a stony expression. I sighed frustrated. I really regret not trying to run now.

He walked a couple more steps and stood in front of a moss filled huge rock.

Great. I just came out to god knows where with a man that has gone absolutely bonkers who wants to hit his head on a huge rock and die!

Once I stood by his side looking at him expectedly, he gracefully lifts his hand up and opened a curtain of creepers (a type of plant) that was in the place of what I thought was a rock.

Guess, it was me who had gone bonkers seething different thing or that I just need a new pair of eyeglasses.

He walked inside as the curtain fell behind his back blinding his from me.

A light bulb blew on top of my head. Why don't I just run away now? I mean, this is the perfect time, he can't see me.

I nodded to myself and took a step back.

"Don't even thing about it"

I groaned and mimicked his actions to get to the other side of this curtain of creepers.

I took some steps towards Syed's back who was looking at so something down a cliff.

My eyes widen. "What are you doing?! Are you going to kill yourself and frame to be your murderer or something?! Get out of there you,you stupid man" I exclaimed.

Syed turned around to meet my gaze. His eyes were filled with amusement. He let out a small chuckle and nodded his head towards the cliff.

"Huh?"

He sighed. "Come here"

I shook my head violently. "I don't have a death wish like you. Hell nah! I am nothing coming there" I yelled.

"Come on. Don't be a scaredy cat. You'll like it. I promise" He spoke softly.

"But-"

"Please" I looked at his pleading eyes,

I sighed and nodded slowly and walked towards him while keeping my defense up.

I stopped once I was at his side and meet his elevated eyes.

"Now what?" I asked.

He nodded his head to look out of the cliff. I rose my eyebrow and looked down.

My face was lit up by the fireflies that illuminated the atmosphere above a lake below the cliff.

There were thousands of them that flew in various directions. Some flickered, Some Bickered while some just glowed.

My mouth was wide open inviting some of them to just pop up inside my mouth. My eyes had the life that it never had in 5 years.

I looked back at Syed who looked at me with an unreadable expression. "How did you find this place?" I asked.

He just shrugged not breaking his eye contact.

I looked back at the fireflies. "Why did you bring me here?" I asked as I kept glancing back at the fireflies.

"I need you to trust me that I won't hurt you," he said.

I rose my eyebrow as I whipped my head towards him. "What?" I asked surprised.

"Yeah" He nodded. "Thats what a friend wants first" He said.

My eyebrows scrunched up together. "You know," I paused as I looked back at him directly in the eyes.

"I have always wondered. Why do you want me to be your friend? I mean... Isn't it just weird? you could have asked anything thing that day and you chose for me to be your friend?" I asked.

He just shrugged. "Well, not really a friend. I would just like to accompany you sometimes without you being creeped out" He said.

I rose my eyebrow at him and averted my eyes. "It's not like I'll appreciate your company either" I mumbled to myself.

"What?"

I shook my head and looked back at him again. "Nothing"

I examined his face as a small frown took over mine.

"Why do you wear a mask?" I whispered.

"I have to" He whispered back.

"Why?" I emphasized as he sighed. "Cause I have to, okay?"

I rolled my eyes. It isn't like he is going to tell me everything.

I just shrugged and continued to admire the extravagant view.
