Take a look at me now
Blaine and Kurt had been dating for a whole year when Blaine was in the warblers and no one knew about them. When they went through a break up neither of them ever thought they would see each other again until the day that Blaine transferred and that one day changed everything...
-_-_-
"Oh my god, who is that." Rachel stared dreamily down the corridor.
Rachel, Mercedes and Tina all turned to look towards the main entrance and they all gasped.
"He's hot. I think he's that new transfer student, right?" Tina gasped.
"Kurt, get your head out of that locker and look at this sexy specimen." Mercedes spoke, eyes never leaving the boy who stood, checking his timetable.
Kurt sighed and slammed his locker shut, causing a loud slam and the dark haired boy to look up.
Kurt gasped as a pair of hazel eyes stared right into his. The girls looked between the frozen boy in the middle of the corridor and to their wide eyed friend.
"Kurt, I think he's staring at you." Tina frowned.
"Do you know him." Rachel joined Tina in the frowning, Mercedes still staring longingly at the boy.
Suddenly the short teen started walking towards the four of them, eyes never leaving Kurt's.
The girls all squealed when the man stood right in front of Kurt but they suddenly fell quiet when they saw the look of pain and hurt written on their best friend's face, the boy before him reflecting the look.
"Hey K... Kurt." The boy was breathing heavily.
"H... Hi." Kurt's eyes were still wide and round.
"I... Umm... How are you? I... I haven't seen you in ages." The boy had a pained expression.
"Yea. Uh... I'm good, I'm good."
"Umm... Look I uh... I'm really sorry, ok?" The girls frowned. What was he sorry for? He only asked how Kurt was.
"Yeah, you've told me that a million times, Blaine." Ah, so the boy's name was Blaine, "But, you know it was my fault."
"Can we just agree and say that we were both in the wrong?" Blaine eyes softened ever so slightly, "I've really missed you."
"I've missed you too." Kurt sighed.
Blaine smiled and Kurt grinned back before he pulled Blaine into a big embrace.
Both boys stood there for a while, both in awe at how good it felt to be back in each others arms.
When Mercedes coughed purposefully the two boys leapt apart and Kurt turned to look at his three best friends before spinning back round to Blaine.
"I gotta go. Bye, Blaine. Nice seeing you again." Kurt smiled.
"Bye." Was all that came in reply before Kurt sauntered off, trying to ignore the girls' questions.
-_-_-
A few hours later and Kurt was sat in the choir room, staring determinedly at the chair in front of him.
When he let out an exasperated sigh and started frowning at a spot on the floor, all of the New Directions turned to stare at Kurt confusedly.
"Is there a problem Kurt?" Mr. Schue raised his voice causing Kurt to slowly look up.
"Sorry, what?" Kurt hadn't been listening at all.
"Is there a problem with the young man auditioning?" Mr. Schue gestures to the raven haired boy behind him.
"Blaine?" Kurt breathed out almost silently, "Uh... No problem, sorry."
"Are you sure, Kurt? Wouldn't wanna upset you or anything." Blaine smirked.
"Oh shut up." Kurt smirked back.
Everyone was staring at the two boys. What were they talking about? Did they know each other?
"Anyway..." Mr. Schue started awkwardly, "Are you going to audition, Blaine?"
"Yup." Blaine answered cheerfully before moving to the piano and starting the opening chords to a song.
How can I just let you walk away
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you, uhh
You're the only one who really knew me at all
Everyone in the room noticed how Blaine was suddenly very emotional and looked as though he could burst into tears at any second. How could someone go from being so happy and then to so sad within a few seconds?
How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave
Blaine finally opened his eyes and looked down from where his face had been facing the ceiling.
'Cause we shared the laughter and the pain
And even shared the tears
Blaine turned and sang right at Kurt.
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Now there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just a memory of your face
Blaine looked as though he was actually remembering someone's face or just someone in general.
Oh take a look at me now
There's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And that's what I've gotta face
I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
Blaine took a deep breath and turned back to the piano after looking at Kurt again.
Oh so take a look at me now
Now there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just a memory of your face
Now take a look at me now
Cuz there's just an empty space
Oh but to wait for you is all I can do
And that's what I've gotta face
Blaine squeezed his eyes shut as he faced the ceiling again.
Ta-take a look at me now
Cuz I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against all odds
It's the chance I've gotta take
Take a look at me now
Ohh
You take a look at me now...
The short teen sat at the piano for a while before he was brought out of his thoughts by an applause. He stood up and smiled.
"Well, I think I speak for everyone when I say; 'Welcome to the New Directions, Blaine.'"
Everyone cheered, apart from Kurt who looked close to tears. Suddenly Kurt jumped up, grabbed Blaine's hand and yanked him out of the room, leaving a bunch of confused teenagers and a worried Spanish teacher.
"Blaine." Kurt breathed out when he finally got Blaine outside of the choir room.
"That song was for you, you know." Blaine ducked his head embarrassedly.
Kurt didn't reply, he simply hooked a finer under Blaine's chin and made him look up before crashing their lips together in a heated kiss.
When they were forced to pull apart in order to breathe, Kurt rested his forehead against Blaine's.
"I... I love you." Blaine was the first to break the comfortable silence.
"I love you too." Kurt smiled, "And I've missed you and I know we've only just split up about 2 months ago, but they were the hardest months ever and..." Kurt trailed off, looking up to meet the hazel eyes he loved so much.
"Kurt, I don't care how long we've been apart but will you please, please, please be my boyfriend again? We both fucked up and I'm really sorry but I jus-" Blaine was cut off by a pair of lips pressed to his.
"I would like that." Kurt smiled.
"Ok then. I think we should head back before the New Directions start wondering where me and my boyfriend have gone." Blaine grinned.
"Hmm, well, are we going to tell anyone about us this time?" Kurt spoke, worried he was rushing into things to soon.
"We could... But how would we do it? Just stroll in there and say: 'Hey, so we used to be dating in secret and we dated for over a year but none of you knew about it. But we just got back together just then so now we are boyfriends again.' Yeah I don't think that'll go down well." Blaine chuckled.
"Yeah... Well what about if we just umm... Ooh! I know we could just go in an-" Kurt was interrupted by a shout down the corridor.
"Hey I think I hear voices coming from round here." They both stood wide eyed as they saw Sam run round the corner, glance at them and start running back around the corner as they heard him shout again, "Yeah, I found them."
Before the two boys could pull away from their embrace, everyone was around the corner and staring at the two boys wrapped around each other.
Blaine and Kurt stood wide eyed for a few more seconds before they finally got use of their limbs again pulled apart.
No one said anything. The two young men at one end of the corridor stood, awkwardly shuffling on their feet. The New Directions all were just staring pointedly at the two blushing teens.
"So, uh... This is my boyfriend." Kurt shrugged.
"What?" Finn choked.
"We were, like, kinda dating for over a year but then umm... We both uh... Did bad things and we broke up. But now, yeah, you get the picture." Blaine pursed his lips.
"Right. A year Kurt?" Mercedes squeaked angrily at the blue eyed boy.
"No," Kurt pointed a finger, "over a year." He smirked.
"Same thing. Why didn't you tell us? Or at least me? Did anyone know?" Mercedes tilted her head.
"Well, my dad and Carole and Blaine's parents knew. And we didn't tell anyone because Blaine hadn't come out to anyone except his parents." Kurt sighed.
"But-" Rachel started.
"Can we not do this? So I didn't tell you but I told you now so can we just forget about it? Please?" Kurt side glanced at Blaine who was smiling at him, "What?"
"I'm just really happy that I can call you mine again." Blaine now broke out into a grin which was eagerly returned by Kurt.
A chorus of 'aww's came from the other end of the corridor.
"Can we actually go do some singing now?" Kurt rolled his eyes.
"I think that seems fair, don't you guys?" Mr. Schu said cheerfully.
When everyone arrived in the choir room Kurt and Blaine went to sit at the back where Blaine gabbed Kurt's hand and kept their hands interlocked in his lap.
"I think that small hobbit boy is a dolphin, Santana." Brittany whispered in a now laughing Santana's ear.
The song is 'Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)'
