Roommates

Kurt and Blaine have been best friends and roommates since they started college. Sam has been having trouble finding work and a place to stay so Kurt suggests he stay at their apartment. How will Sam react to Kurt and Blaine's friendship?

"Okay. Blaine, this is Sam. Sam, this is Blaine. Now you two get to know each other while I go save Rachel from her closet."

Kurt smiled at his two friends before turning on his heel and walking out of the room into his bedroom to call Rachel and prepare her for her date.

"So," Sam began awkwardly, glancing around the room, "You, like, live here."

"Yeah." Blaine laughed, "And I think you do now, too?"

"Only temporarily. I don't wanna mess up your guys' relationship."

"Why would you mess up our relationship? Just because we have another friend in the house isn't gonna change anything."

"Well, yeah. But you guys will, like, have to wait till I'm out to... Y'know." Sam made a gesture with his hands, "Y'know- like- You know what I mean."

"I don't think I do."

"Yeah, just like- a little." Sam made one of his hands into a hole and moved his other finger in and out of it, "Like-"

Blaine's eyes widened before he was grabbing Sam's hands to stop, "Eww, no! Gross. What're you, 12?" Blaine shook his head in disbelief, "Kurt and I are just friends."

Sam stared at the boy for a few seconds, waiting for him to laugh or make a joke, "Wait, seriously? You guys aren't- I mean, I didn't want to assume but you both just seem so-"

"It's okay, really. Calm down." Blaine laughed, "It's fine."

"Dude, I bet you're not even gay. You're not gay, are you?"

"Oh, no I'm 100% gay." Blaine said seriously, "Trust me, I know for sure."

"Umm, look, man, I'm happy that you're this comfortable with your sexuality but I don't, like, need any graphic details."

Blaine just laughed before turning to the TV and grabbing the remote, "You wanna watch something?"

-_-_-

"Yes, Rach I- No! Don't do that!- Yeah, I suppose- Yeah, yeah.- No!" Kurt finally emerged from his room half an hour later, "Listen, Rachel. Yes, you can wear that dress I told you and no, you can not wear your polka dotted jacket over it. That'd look hideous. Do you have any fashion sense at all. Y'know what? Don't answer that."

Blaine glanced up to shoot Kurt an amused look, laughing silently when Kurt rolled his eyes dramatically, not noticing Sam watching them with narrowed eyes.

"I really gotta go- no. No. Ugh, Y'know what? Just do what you want Rach. If you wanna send this Brody guy running away to bleach his eyes, be my guest, but I have to go now." Kurt sighed dramatically, "Yeah, Sam's moved in with us now- ahh! Rachel! Don't scream so loud! I'm hanging up. Goodbye Rachel."

Blaine grinned at Kurt as the boy collapsed next to him.

"I don't know why I'm friends with her." Kurt groaned before letting his head fall into Blaine's lap who immediately dropped his hands to comb through his hair.

"When're you gonna organise a time for us all to meet?" Sam frowned at the boy, trying hard to ignore the two 'friends' cuddled up together.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we all haven't seen each other in, like, 2 years."

"No. You haven't seen anyone in 2 years. I've stayed in touch with everyone and I visit most of them at least once a week."

"Really? Aww, Kurt." Sam whined, "Please invite everyone over! Please, please, please! You just have to!"

"Okay, okay. I'll try get them over here on Saturday. But not Sunday. Sunday's our pyjama day."

-_-_-

"Hey, Sam have you seen Kurt?"

"Yeah, he's just taking a shower."

"Oh ok, I just-" Sam glanced up with a frown when he heard the boy choke slightly on his words.

Sam smirked when he noticed that Blaine was now staring at Kurt who had just stepped out of the bathroom, with only a towel around his waist, a few water droplets dripping down his forehead and chest.

This wasn't the first time this had happened. Blaine always reacted this way when Kurt had just come out of the shower. He also reacted this way when he walked in on Kurt doing his daily work out in the morning. And just yesterday, Blaine disappeared suspiciously to his room just after Kurt had finished doing some yoga.

However, Sam's smirk fell into another frown when he noticed that Kurt was also smirking. But why would Kurt be smirking?

And then Sam grinned because he finally got it. Kurt was doing it on purpose. He knew Blaine liked him and he was using it to his advantage. At least that explained why Kurt hadn't been having showers in his own bathroom.

-_-_-

"Sam Evans." Mercedes grinned, "Where the hell have you been for 2 years?"

"Failing miserably at modelling." Sam shrugged sadly.

"Oh, baby." Mercedes sighed sadly before she broke into a grin and turned to her friends, "We should do karaoke!"

A chorus of agreements followed her suggestion and within 5 minutes, all of the previous New Directions (Plus Blaine and a few significant others) were gathered around the living room where a make-shift stage made out of sofas and tables had been created.

-_-_-

"Kurt! You need to sing a song! You haven't sang a song yet and-" Rachel trailed off as she glanced around the room sleepily before snapping her head back towards her friend, "You need to sing a song!"

"Why don't you sing a song instead, Rach." Kurt laughed.

"Oh, okay. If you insist." Rachel smiled before stumbling over to Sam, grabbing his hand and dragging him onto the stage.

"Rachel, what're you doing?" Sam whispered to the girl.

"Me and Sam are doing a du-uet." Rachel slurred, "Hit it!"

Mercedes frowned up at the girl who had pointed to her, "Uh, Rach? I don't know what song you want."

"Oh yeah!" Rachel looked thoughtful for a moment before turning to Sam and placing her hands on his shoulders, "Let's do 'Don't You Want Me'!"

Mercedes shook her head in disbelief but found the song on Kurt's playlist and clicked play.

Sam began singing with a grin. He hadn't sung in years.

You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar
When I met you
I picked you out, I shook you up
And turned you around
Turned you into someone new

Blaine wasn't getting involved much. He hadn't sung a song yet and he wasn't dancing, unlike Kurt.

Blaine would've loved to get up and dance to this song, if only Kurt hadn't beaten him. The boy was spinning around, with his hands in his hair, not as drunk as others but not nearly as sober as Blaine.

Don't. Don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me

Blaine smiled as he watched his best friend jumping on the spot and laughing as he bumped into Brittany. It was rather adorable, Blaine thought. But then banished that thought to the back of his mind, just like all of the other unfriend-like thoughts he'd had about Kurt.

It's much too late to find
When you think you've changed your mind
You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry

Blaine took a moment to glance around the room. His and Kurt's apartment looked completely different. All of the couches and love seats had been pushed to the front of the room, along with all of the tables, to form a messy stage. Only one table was still left and it was completely covered in bottles of alcohol.

Blaine shook his head when he saw the Latina girl in the wheelchair guy's lap, kissing him way to heatedly for Blaine's liking.

So, he decided to focus on Kurt. Because at least Kurt wasn't completely obsessed with sex and making out.

Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!

Adorable Kurt was gone. Blaine's eyes widened dramatically when he noticed his friend had stopped jumping around and was now gyrating his hips and... Looking straight at Blaine?

I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar
That much is true
But even then I knew I'd find a much better place
Either with or without you

Blaine barely registered the fact that Rachel had began singing, he was too occupied with his friend's hips which were doing things that ought to be illegal.

Don't. Don't you want me?
You know I don't believe you when you say that you don't need me

Kurt knew he probably looked like a complete idiot, but he was done with just being Blaine's friend. He couldn't handle it anymore. If Blaine rejected him, that would be terrible and completely embarrassing. But Kurt couldn't be Blaine's friend anymore. Not when he wanted Blaine in a very different way.

So, swallowing the lump in his throat, Kurt raised his hand and wiggled his finger, gesturing for Blaine to come join him.

It's much too late find
When you think you've changed your mind

Blaine's breathing quickened immensely when he realised Kurt was inviting him to go dance with him. But he didn't give it a second's thought. He immediately leapt out of his seat and joined Kurt, placing his hands on his friend's hips from behind, moving his hips in time with Kurt's.

You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry

Kurt grinned and let his head fall backwards onto Blaine's shoulder as they moved to the music.

Kurt turned his head slightly so he was breathing heavily into Blaine's neck and whispered along to the lyrics,

"Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!"

Blaine groaned, whispering, "Yes."

And then Kurt turned in his grasp and connected their lips.

It was as if the world had stopped and it was only the two of them. They both stood still for a moment before they melted into it, kissing feverishly, desperate to taste the other and make up for a lot of lost time.

Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!

They broke apart, only for need of oxygen before Blaine was diving back in, kissing him even more desperately than before.

Music and friends completely forgotten, they continued to kiss, breaking apart occasionally, only to dive back in again.

Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me? Oh!

They hadn't even registered the song ending as Kurt pushed Blaine backwards until his back was pressed against a wall, party still completely forgotten.

"I thought they weren't dating." Rachel frowned at Sam.

"Oh, they weren't." Sam smirked.

I think I got a bit carried away... And I don't think that was anything like what you were expecting. But, in a way, I'm proud of this. I actually really like this chapter.

And I'm just warning you all now; I don't think this should be continued so please please please don't request a part 2. This is meant to be a collection of oneshot fic and there's already a part 3 somewhere in there.

It's not that I mind. Because I don't. I appreciate you guys giving me ideas and I understand that I often finish it at cliffhangers so you probably want to know what happens.

You can still request part 2s and everything but I'd really appreciate it if they weren't requested as often.

The song used was 'Don't You Want Me' and this chapter was requested by Justanotherfangurll
