Panic
Blaine and Kurt started dating a couple months after Kurt transferred to Dalton and got married 3 years later. None of the New Directions ever found out because they haven't heard from Kurt in 10 years so how will they feel when they finally meet Kurt again at the ND 10 year reunion?
The choir room was buzzing with excitement. The room's occupants kept a steady flow of constant conversation, catching up and finding out how people's lives have been for the past 10 years.
Mercedes had released her second album which did dramatically better than her first, Sam hadn't traveled far to get to McKinley considering he'd worked as the school's football coach for the past 10 years and Artie was nominated for the golden globe's best short film. Rachel had gone on to peruse her lifelong dream of following in her idol; Barbra Streisand's footsteps, Quinn graduated from Yale at the top of her class and had been living a quiet life with her husband; Noah Puckerman and their two children. Brittany and Santana hadn't gotten much done in the past decade, mostly focusing on each other and Brittany's growing cat hoarding problem. Tina and Mike had broken up and gotten back together over 6 times and were currently hoping their 2 week-old engagement wouldn't crash and burn. Kurt, however, had had a brief break through in the fashion industry before his career ended abruptly and no one had seen or heard from the one person who tried hardest to keep in contact with everyone.
Naturally, the countertenor was the main subject of everyone's conversations. 'Where had he gone?' and 'What happened to him?' being the two most prominent questions on everyone's minds.
So, the incredulous looks on their faces and the various gasps being let out around the room could only have been expected when Kurt Hummel burst through the choir room door with a shout.
"Hi, sorry I'm late." The man seemed out of breath, checking his watch and pausing in his sentence to recompose himself, "My plane was delayed... by 5 hours. Ugh, yeah- Why're you all looking at me like I have three heads?"
Sam stepped forward, speaking slowly, and waving his hands in the air, "Where the hell have you been for, like, 10 years?"
Kurt frowned at the boy before glancing quickly behind himself, "I, uh, I've kept myself busy."
"For 10 years? No one in this room has heard from you at all."
Mercedes stepped forward next to Sam, "We weren't even sure if you would come."
"You completely lost contact with all of us when you transferred to Dalton." Rachel sighed, "We've missed you, Kurt."
The boy looked down at his feet awkwardly, the silence growing awkward very fast.
"Look, we don't want to make you uncomfortable." Mercedes began, "We were just worried about you. We thought maybe something bad had happened to you."
Kurt looked up, a hesitant smile on his face, "I'm fine."
Half an hour later, when Kurt had explained the delay of his flight in more detail, the evening took a very unexpected turn.
A man with raven-hair and hazel eyes entered the room casually, his eyes widening dramatically when he noticed that the room was full.
He pursed his lips together and moved to walk out of the door, when a voice called out, "Blaine."
The man turned to face Kurt who had a teasing smile on his face.
Blaine smiled and stepped forward into the room just as Kurt stepped towards him, "Everyone, this is Blaine; my husband."
Kurt smiled and grabbed Blaine's hand, pulling him closer until he was stood amongst the various curious people huddled in a circle in front of them.
"Blaine, these are my high school friends from McKinley; the New Directions."
Blaine smiled and extended his arm, shaking hands with a most people, "Hi, it's an honour to meet you. Kurt's told me lots about you."
"Where'd you guys meet?" Tina smiled.
"We actually met the day I went to Dalton to spy. Remember that week Mr. Schue set the boy's vs girls challenge?"
Puck nodded, "Wait, you actually went?"
"Yes, and I'm glad I did." Kurt grinned at Blaine, "Otherwise I wouldn't have met the love of my life."
The girls all cooed at the couple while Puck groaned, "Great, I can already tell you're one of those sickeningly in love couples who aren't afraid to shove it in people's faces."
Kurt laughed but the laughter quickly died in his throat when a familiar face walked past the choir room door, waving tauntingly at him before continuing.
"Kurt?" Blaine frowned, turning to look in the direction Kurt had been staring, "Kurt, what's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's- it's nothing."
"It's not nothing. Tell me what's wrong." Blaine paused, "Was that him?"
Kurt didn't even have to say anything, the look in his eyes when he finally met Blaine's gaze was enough for the raven-haired man to turn on his heel and begin a brisk walk out of the choir room door.
After a second of not being able to move, Kurt was suddenly running after Blaine, his friends close behind.
As they turned the corner, Kurt was immediately hit with a harsh sense of deja vu. Blaine stood with his arm against a taller man's neck, his fist raised to send a punch flying to the bulky man's jaw at any second. For a moment Kurt saw his dad there, pressing Karofsky against that exact locker, yelling in his face as David thrashed helplessly in an attempt to get away.
Kurt wanted to help, needed to help. He had to stop this but he couldn't. He couldn't move his arms or legs, it felt as if he was stuck to the floor. His arms and legs were tight, sticking to his body and his muscles were constricted in an attempt to move.
He could feel his heart speeding up and could hear his breath coming out short and ragged, he felt as if his eyes were about to pop out of his skull but all he could do was watch, watch as the man he loved yell in another man's face, threatening him and taunting him.
He couldn't hear what Blaine was saying over the loud pounding in his ears but he could tell by the look on Karofsky's face that it was no where near good news. Suddenly Karofsky gave a particularly hard shove, causing Blaine to stumble backward and Karofsky immediately started running towards the boy's locker rooms.
The lockers. Kurt's eyes widened as he glanced around wildly, he was surrounded by them. Lockers. Teasing him and calling for him, reminding him of all the fun they'd had. But it hadn't been fun for Kurt. All the bruises and cuts littered across his chest and back didn't bring him good, fun memories. A particularly short breath shook his chest and soon he was crying, sobbing as he listened to the lockers calling out for him.
He could hear the slams of his body being flung against them. He could hear the sound of ripping flesh when his shoulder or arm would get caught against an open locker door on his way down to the floor. They were closing in on him. Surrounding him. Laughing at him. Pointing and laughing. Always laughing. It was funny for them, funny when Kurt was hurt.
One eye flickered shut before opening again and soon he found himself on the floor, the lockers towering over him and leaning down, cackling evilly and getting ready to attack him. Push him and shove him. Kick him and punch him. It would all be coming.
He curled himself up into a ball, lying on the floor as his sobs wracked his body, shaking him about wildly as his tears seemed to come out in a constant scream for help. But there was no sound and there was no help. No one was coming to help Kurt. Kurt was alone. All alone.
Dizziness overtook him and the floor began to move, winding up and down and thrashing like waves in a storm. The lockers weren't affected by the waves though. The waves only lifted them higher and made them tower further over Kurt, coming closer to his face and laughing louder.
He suddenly thought about how Blaine was in the locker room alone with Karofsky. Karofsky would kiss Blaine, force a kiss onto him like he had with Kurt. He would grab onto Blaine's face roughly and drag him closer by his cheeks and when Blaine was finally close enough Karofsky would lean in and kiss him with rough and angry lips. Angry lips that wanted to eat Blaine. Like a wolf. Like a big bad wolf who would huff and puff and blow Blaine away. Away forever and then Kurt wouldn't have Blaine.
Suddenly the waves got stronger and he felt someone grab his shoulder. One of the lockers had gotten to him, it was grabbing his shoulder and was squeezing. It was going to crush his shoulder and then what would it do? Kurt didn't know what would happen after that.
The locker suddenly let go and he heard a voice. That voice sounded so familiar and so calm. It sounded like it could calm a whole ocean.
And it had, the waves had stopped and the lockers weren't towering over him anymore, they were now back into the walls, cowering away from him in the shadows.
He glanced up and was immediately relieved when he saw Blaine crouched down on his level, cradling his face in his hands. Blaine was safe.
He sighed and began to cry again, slower this time. His breathing got slower, too as he was pulled into Blaine's embrace, his body being held tightly against Blaine's chest as he curled up in the man's lap.
A couple of minutes later he looked up and smiled brightly at Blaine, "You okay?"
Blaine laughed affectionately, "I'm okay. Are you?"
"Oh I'm great." Kurt grinned and nuzzled his face into Blaine's neck, "I'm with you."
Once again, not so much ND reacting to Klaine but hey ho.
I don't know if this was an accurate description of a panic attack but that's how it feels to me whenever I have one. Like the world is closing in on me and everyone is laughing at me and I'm all alone with no one to help me. But nvm..
HAPPY DARREN DAY! ITS DARREN'S BIRTHDAY! My baby is all grown up 😪 30 years old?!?! Damn, grow up faster, will you? No don't! That was sarcasm. Now I'm just talking to a hypothetical Darren which is extremely sad...
But anyway, he's 30 and he still looks like a supermegafoxyawesomehot 21 year old so I personally think he's doing just great.
I am no longer on Instagram or any social media apart from this and Snapchat tbh so I have no way of celebrating or seeing DC today so instead I have succumbed to watching all episodes that have a lot of Blaine in and have spent a good 2 hours watching Darren on YouTube. I'm not entirely sure if this is something I'm supposed to be proud of but I'm going to be anyway
I hope this was what you wanted LyricFox
