Poem ~19

A breeze tinged with lust,
Hair drenched in sweat,
Our gazes were shy,
As if we'd only just met.

One night changed it all,
A rose filled garden of love.

We lay side by side,
Naming constellations up above.

Of all the stars I saw that night,
You're the one that I adore,
And as we lay side by side,
You claimed to love me more.

I should have seen him coming,
A paragon of the human race,
The sky itself cried in awe,
At his perfect face.

Perfect turned out to be a lie,
For when he left me all undone,
We'd already parted ways,
You were gone.

If I had only stayed true to you,
As you had done for me,
This would not have happened,
You'd still be alive for me.
