Chapter 32
Ever since they had arrived at the mansion, Lena had kept a low profile.
Eva and Juliana had become friends though, so she saw Andrea a lot.
And somehow, there was a friendship there because, while she loved Kara and Alex, they were busy a lot of the time, and Lena preferred to stay away from all that.
And she spent time with a young woman named Allison, who was a bridesmaid at Thea's wedding, and was studying to become a doctor, but was lying low for a little while so, she spent most of her time in Lena's room telling Lena about her daughter and her life when she was growing up. And Lena, in turn, told her stories and kept her mind off Darhk.
So, she ended up spending most of her time with those two, which is what she was doing today. Andrea was talking about how Juliana would draw on the walls when Lena suddenly felt sick.
She rushed into the bathroom and threw up. She heard Andrea and Allison rush in after her.
"Lena, are you alright?" Allison asked.
"Yeah, I must be sick," Lena said.
"Hey, Lena, when was the last time you got your period," Andrea asked, hesitant.
"Oh no."
~
"Yep, it's still positive, I figured it would be, this is my fifth," Lena said, looking down at the pregnancy.
"Do you know who's it is?" Allison asked.
"No," Lena shook her head. "It could be James's or Max's."
"Well, is there a way to get a paternity test?" Andrea asked.
"We'd need to have DNA from one of them, and James hasn't gotten here yet, although, we can do it once he gets here," Allison said.
"No! I don't want him to know until I'm sure I know who's it is," Lena said.
"Then it might be hard to do the paternity test, you do kind of need his DNA for it," Allison said.
"You at least need to get checked out by Frost," Andrea said.
"Fine," Lena agreed.
~
"Okay, that's your baby," Frost said, doing the ultrasound on Lena.
"Wow," Lena said. "I never get tired of seeing that."
"Yeah, so do you know who the father is?" Frost asked.
"No, and she doesn't want to tell James about it till she's sure who's it is," Andrea said.
"Well, that's not gonna work, you can tell when someone's pregnant, you know," Frost said, cleaning Lena off.
"I have to tell him, don't I?" Lena said.
"I'm afraid so," Frost said.
~
Thea burst into where Malcolm Slade and Laurel were, with her hands over her eyes.
"Please say I didn't walk into anything," Thea said.
"That happened once, and maybe if you knocked, you wouldn't have that problem," Malcolm said.
"I feel like you're deflecting so I need an answer," Thea said.
"No, you didn't walk in on anything Thea, god," Laurel said, a little more angry than usual.
"Is that ice cream, I want some," Thea said.
"No, this is mine," Laurel said.
"How much of that have you eaten today?" Thea asked.
"Shut up, I'm pregnant. And if you don't shut up, I'll eat you," Laurel said pointing the spoon at her.
"Are all pregnant women this scary?" Thea asked.
"Nope, just Laurel," Malcolm said, which earned him a whack on the head with a pillow. "See!?"
"Its a pillow not a rock," Slade said. "What did you come in here for?"
"Oh, yeah! I came in here for something, um, is the King of Monument coming tomorrow?" She asked.
"Yes, how did you find out?" Malcolm asked.
"My usual ways, spying," Thea said.
"Okay Thea, you have to stop, I'm getting complaints," Malcolm said.
"They're in the mob, if they can't keep their secrets, then I'm not the problem," Thea said.
"She has a point," Slade said.
"I know why do you have to do that?" Malcolm asked.
"Use logic?" Thea questioned.
"Yes, you never used to! And it makes me look bad in front of Slade," Malcolm said.
"If it helps, I wasn't that impressed, to begin with," Slade said.
"I am the King of the mob-" Malcolm yelled.
"I can tell I'm going to have to deal with this, you can go, Thea," Laurel said.
"But... this was entertaining," Thea said.
"Out!" Laurel said.
~
The next morning tensions were high.
Malcolm and Slade were glaring at each other and Laurel was glaring at both of them.
"What happened?" Thea asked Lena as they were waiting for James to arrive.
"I have no idea, my guess, they started fighting over her, or the babies, I'll find out," Lena said, walking over.
"Hey Lena, haven't seen you in a while," Laurel said as Lena came over.
"What's wrong?" Lena asked.
"It started out as a small fight, and then it blew up when they started arguing about me, my health and the babies, then I started yelling at them, and they told me not to stress myself out which made me yell at them more," Laurel said, spilling everything.
"Oh, yeah that's bad, so you aren't speaking to them," Lena said.
"And they aren't speaking to each other," Laurel said.
"Wow, that won't end well," Lena said.
"Yeah, for them," Laurel said. "Now, let's go greet your husband."
