Chapter 01: A Dead Body?

Wei Ying, courtesy name Wei Wuxian, was the man the world knew as the Yiling Patriarch. A once uprising youth, who had the potential to be a great cultivator. But due to circumstances and wartime, he went off the path and became a Demonic Cultivator.

With his new power and army of the dead, the four great sects were able to stop Wen Rohan and his Clan. With the war ended, there could be peace once again.

But nothing was ever so simple.

Due to fear, hate, greed and envy. The world looked at Wei Wuxian and saw him as a threat. His power was too great, and people feared, while leaders grew in greed.

After having found out the fate of the remaining Wen clan, the people who had no play in the war and were innocent of their past leaders' crimes, the master of demonic cultivation rescued them. They later laid refuge in the Burial Mounds, where Wei Wuxian could protect them.

Having gone against the other clans, he later left his clan and home, along with his sworn brother. All this, to ensure that they will no longer be blamed for his actions. From there, with his small group of women, elderly, and child, he got to work.

Life on Burial Mound was tough, but they were determined and got through it all together. Within more than half a year, they were slowly stabilizing in their needs.

Wen Qing, "Wei Wuxian, you better get exactly what's on this list or else..."

The fierce and proud Wen Qing demonstrated her level of threat by presenting the needles between the gap of her fingers.

Wei Wuxian, "Yes, yes, Wen Qing, I got it all. No need to be so scary, you'll never get a husband with that attitude."

Covered in black and dark grey robes, with red lining. Wei Ying made the common gesture of surrender. But due to his unfiltered mouth, it didn't help to cool the woman's threat.

A slight "eep!" slip from the man's lips as he dodged the warning needle that shot past his head.

Wen Qing, "You want to say that again."

Wei Wuxian, "Say what? I said nothing, nothing at all. Hehe~"

Mood cooler now, Wen Qing put her weapons away and crossed her arms.

Wen Qing, "Good. Now again, be sure to get everything on the list and be sure to watch over A-Yuan. You are taking him, right?"

Wei Wuxian, "Yep, where is the little guy, we better get moving before the sun falls."

With a grin, the young man stepped out of his cave where he later found the young boy with his grandmother making baskets. The two later take off from the mountain and towards the village market square. Acquiring the listed items was a chore that took time to bargain with the stall owners to lower the price. While occasionally indulging little A-Yuan with the little remains of their budget.

When all was gained from the list, did the two set off back to the mountain.

Wei Wuxian, "Aiya, I should have brought Wen Ning with us. Then I wouldn't have to carry all this by myself."

He complained.

"What do you think we'll have for dinner? Maybe Lotus Pork Soup?"

At the continued silence did Wei Ying stop to look, only to see A-Yuan wasn't there.

"A-Yuan-?! A-Yuan!?"

The purchased goods were left on the road.

"A-Yuan!!"

The man yelled out, looking down the road then later to the forest where he entered. He ran through the trees and yelled to the skies. Searching for a clue and listening for a child.

"A-Yuan!! A-Yuan where did you go!?"

When an agonizing 10 minutes passed, with his hand twitching for Chenqing did he hear a response.

"Xian-Gege!"

With a burst of strength in his legs, he blasted through the distance until he could see the little figure of the boy.

"A-Yuan!"

Wrapped in a tight hug, Wei Ying soon pulled back from the boy.

"What happened? Don't wander off like that or else Wen Qing will have of our heads."

A-Yuan, "Sorry Xian-Gege. A-Yuan saw a pretty butterfly and wanted to play."

A sigh.

Wei Wuxian, "Come, we still need to-"

He suddenly halted at the dead body behind A-Yuan, how did he miss that?

A tug at his robes. A-Yuan's big eyes stared widely at him.

A-Yuan, "Xian-Gege can we take them home?"

'Just what?' The man thought.

A-Yuan, "They're hurt Xian-Gege. Qing-Jiejie could help."

Wei Ying inwardly sighed in relief. He thought his influence on A-Yuan made him have a liking for corpses, "Ah, yes yes, of course. We'll help them A-Yuan."

'If they're alive...'

A quick check and- yes, they're not dead.

'But Wen Qing is not going to be happy about this...'

They soon left the forest and returned to the road path to Burial Mound. Wei Ying had to summon a nearby dead to help carry the fallen shopping. With A-Yuan walking by his side and a stranger on his back, the sun was soon to fall. And Wei Ying knew that Wen Qing is going to nag him again for being late.

"WEI WUXIAN!"

'Aiya...'

Wen Qing's eyes, burning like a blazing inferno at the sight of the said man, her arms crossed and with Wen Ning by her side, looking relieved as he possibly could with his stiff face.

Wen Ning, "Young Master..."

Wen Qing, "It's late! What took you so long? Granny and Uncle Forth got worried! You know you shouldn't have A-Yuan out this la-" Here, Wei Ying walked close enough to the light and instantly her pointed eyes locked onto the package on the man's back. "Wei Wuxian!!"

Thinking fast, Wei Ying tried to explain. "Wait wait! Wen Qing! I didn't do anything; I didn't do this! I found them in the forest injured. Believe me, you know I wouldn't do anything unless it was necessary. But truly I didn't do anything!"

A-Yuan, "Qing-Jiejie, A-Yuan followed the butterfly and found Hurt-jiejie. Please help them Qing-jiejie."

The proud doctor stared them down as Wen Ning (God bless him) called her name in the way he does when his soft heart ~ that no longer beats ~ wanted to help others. She sighed and gave in. Never one to go against her dear brother for long. It didn't take much, Wen Ning went to take the brought supplies from the corpse by Wei Ying's side, along with A-Yuan, bringing him back to Granny. Wei Ying dismissed the helping corpse and followed Wen Qing back to one of the huts.

He laid the stranger down and watched as Wen Qing checked them over. He inwardly sighed, but it was short-lived.

Wen Qing, "Don't think I didn't notice that you lost A-Yuan. We're going to have a very long chat after I'm done here."

'Wahh!' Wei Ying cried inside.

She soon sent Wei Ying out so she can further inspect her patient. As she worked, Wen Qing noticed a lot of odd things about them. First to be said about them, was the fact they were a young woman, and not just this, but after cleaning off the blood caked on their face, this was a foreigner. Her injuries consisted of a few stab wounds and broken bones. These should have been a big concern if the wounds weren't already partly healed.

Undressing them was a chore considering their strange clothes. In the end, she had cut a few of them up to clean their body of blood. By the time she finished, Wen Ning came by.

Wen Ning, "Jie? Can I come in?"

Placing a blanket over the resting girl, Wen Qing called her brother in.

Wen Ning, "How are they?"

Wen Qing, "Just needs some rest and I believe she will be up around mid-day tomorrow."

Wen Ning, "Who do you think they are?"

"I can't say." She slowly cleaned up her supplies, "This is the first time I've seen a face like this. They're not from anywhere near here. Whether or not that's a good thing has yet to be seen. Where's Wei Wuxian?"

Wen Ning, "Young Master is back in his room." By room, he meant the cave he stays in at the top of the Mount.

Wen Qing, "Good, I'm going to have a nice long chat with him."

If corpses could sweat, Wen Ning would be doing just that by looking at the irritated look on his sister's face. 'Sorry Young Master Wei...'
