This was all that was heard inside of a white room with two figures inside, both laying down in bed. One was a boy and the other, a tomboy. Both with black hair and both unconscious.

Everything was silent until the young boy woke up with a start, and gasping. He stared at the white ceiling with sweat dripping down. He moved, but only for his arm to be in pain.

The boy named Sasuke turned to inspect his arm, and see it bandaged up. A memory shot through his mind, and he remembered everything.

Sasuke sat up from his bed and looked to his right were he saw Kaitlyn laying in a hospital bed, bandaged up and unconscious. Another memory crossed his thoughts causing him to grip the sheets laid on him.

Swinging his legs over the side of the bed, and touching the cold hard floor. Sasuke briefly walked to the side of his trainers bed. He watched as her breathing was elevated but the sight of the hidden wounds caused him to frown deeply.

Days passed and Sasuke was now sitting by the lake after he recently left school. Sasuke hasn't seen Naruto or Kaitlyn since the time he was discharged from the hospital.

Naruto ~ upon waking up that morning of the massacre ~ found Kaitlyn missing from the bed and panicked. He spent the whole day trying to find her but couldn't, so he did what he should have done at first, he went to the hokage.

There he found out that Kaitlyn was in the hospital and didn't even care about the reason why, because hearing the words 'hospital' and 'Kaitlyn' in the same sentence didn't send much of a good implication.

Naruto dashed to the hospital as quick as his little 6-year-old legs would take him. When he arrived, he found Sasuke seated beside her and made his way to them. Naruto never asked Sasuke anything after looking at him in the eyes, it was pain, loss and guilt he saw in them black orbs.

"I'm sorry" were the only words he heard from the Uchiha boy before the said boy stood up from his seat and left the room. Naruto didn't understand his words, so he brushed it off... for now.

Since then, Naruto and Sasuke hasn't seen each other. Naruto stayed at the hospital, stubbornly refusing to leave Kaitlyn's side and Sasuke continued attending the academy.

Sasuke gazed at his reflection in the water while thinking of his parents.

"I wish I knew... what kinds of things he said to her about me..." he whispered to himself, eyes sad and downcasted at the thought

"All good things I'm sure" a familiar voice suddenly said from behind

Sasuke whipped his head around as fast as lightning and with his eyes wide.

"K..Kai-chan!" He spoke the other ravenets name ~ nickname ~ in shock

"Yup! It me!" She said awfully cheery, rising her hand up as a greeting.

She was dressed in a hospital shirt and pants, bandages still wrapped around her arms and neck.

"I thought you were in the hospital!"

"Oh I was, I just woke up not so long ago"

"Then you should be resting in bed, why are you out here!"

She pouted at him "because hospitals are so boring..." he gave her a 'are kidding me' look, until his eyes glazed over and he turned away from her.

"Where... where is Naruto?" He sounded frail like, if you were to be careless he would breakdown

Kaitlyn walked to his side and took a seat next to him, dipping her feet into the cold soft water. Did I forget to mention she didn't have shoes on?

"He's back at the hospital" she answered him and continued "when I woke up, I found him by my side, fast asleep with bags under his eyes. I could tell he hasn't left or slept for days, so I placed him in the bed after I left"

Sasuke stayed silent, as Kaitlyn just let him be, while she played with the water by her feet.

"Kai-chan..."

"Hmm..."

"Itachi hurt you, didn't he..."

Kaitlyn ceased her playing, and Sasuke looked to her for an answer. She closed her eyes, sighed, then nodded.

Rage, anger and guilt, invaded Sasuke's being like wildfire. 'Itachi!' The young Uchiha gripped his small hands into a fist and gritted his teeth. Killing intent, oozed from him, causing Kaitlyn to open her eyes.

She knew this would happen, his anger, bloodlust and hate was easily apparent. But what could she do? The course that Itachi planned is already in motion and he asked her for two favours. Favours which she, as his friend, must keep.

Watch over Sasuke and... don't tell him the truth.

Now Kaitlyn thought about telling the young boy she has grown attached to, the truth, since she never did give the older Uchiha an vocal answer. So instead, she will give the boy a small hint ~when the time is right ~ for him to think about, and maybe in the future he'll figure it out... hopefully.

With a gentle touch, Kaitlyn embraced the boy into a warm hug, successfully erasing his bloodlust.

"W..what? Kai-chan what are you..."

"I'm sorry" she apologised first

Dumbfounded and confused Sasuke asked "Sorry? for what?"

She didn't answer him and just tighten the hug a little. Sasuke couldn't understand what she was sorry about, but the feeling of warmth and comfort in the hug, set him at ease. He hugged her back smiling a small but true smile.

He lost his clan, his parents and his brother, but... he still has someone.

'I will avenge my clan and kill Itachi, no matter what, I will kill him... and I will protect you to... Kai-chan' his determination held strong at the thought

The hug lasted for a little while longer until Kaitlyn finally released him and looked him in the eyes.

"Sasuke..." she spoke his real name, meaning this was serious, so he listened intently "... I want you to stay and live with me."

Shocked, was the only word to describe Sasuke at this moment. He sat as still as stone, eyes wide, and mind... completely blown. Staring into those dark brown orbs that held a certain warmth and shine in them, he didn't need to know the reason why, he knew she could be trusted.

Droplets of water rained down from his eyes, as his feelings over took him again.

"Wahhhh! If you don't want to then that's ok!" Kaitlyn panicked after seeing she made the boy cry 'ahhhhhh! Maybe I was too serious, or too demanding! W...what do I do!!!'

"No!" Sasuke hugged her like his life depended on it "I want that, please, let me stay with you"

The older ravenet's eyes soften, then patted the younger boys black hair with affection and smiled gently, as he continued to hug her.

Afterwards, Kaitlyn left with Sasuke in hand, to the hospital ~ much to Kaitlyn's discomfort, because of the earful she's gonna get from the blond she left behind. Upon sneaking back into the room she slept in, along with Sasuke, they found the whisker faced blond still snoring on the bed.

"Hahaha, I guess he was really exhausted" she turned to Sasuke who stood beside her "Sasu-chan, you know living with me, is also living with Naru-kun, so try not to kill each other when I'm not looking ok" she gave him a playful wink, earning a small giggle from the Uchiha.

She raffled his hair and he responded by saying "Hn, no promises"
