In this chapter, I'm writing about how Chen and Cameron when they were about 8 years old.

   CAMERON POV
I'm outside playing with some of my friends after school and I was a little bit tired so I decide to rest. I'm waiting for my mom to come pick me up but it looks like she isn't coming today, strange because she comes everyday to pick me up but I decide to go home since its getting late. I decide to take a shortcut so I would arrive home quickly. I began running a little bit and then I slip and fall and start rolling downwards. When I stop, I open my eyes and look behind me and it was so deep and the ground I'm standing on could break at any point and I would fall deep below, I try jumping up to higher ground but I wasn't tall enough and then I begin to scream for help as tears begin to fall from my eyes but no one came. Suddenly, I hear footsteps approaching and I look up and I see an Asian boy looking down at me.

"Are you okay?" He asks looking worried.
"No, as you can see I'm about to fall. Please help me."
"Alright." He lies down and stretches his hand downwards for me to hold. I look at the hand then him surprisingly.
"Can you carry me? You supposed to go look for help."
"Before I can get help you would have fallen by then so grab onto me." I grab this wrist and he begins to drag me upwards and he finally brings me up and we both lie down breathing heavily.
"Are you okay?" He asks again looking more worried scanning my body with his eyes. I kinda feel shy and look nowhere in particular.
"Yeah. Thank you for helping me."
He stands and dusts his clothes and he stretches his hand out and I grab onto it and stand up also dusting mine.  We both began walking slowly going home.
"I'm Chen, what about you?"
"I.. I'm Cameron. Just Cam is okay."
"Sweet name." Chen says looking at me and smiling.
"Thanks." I say shyly.
"Are you from this neighbourhood? I don't see you in school or around" I ask Chen.
"Well, I feel alittle bit sick so I can't make it to school."
"Ohh. Okay."

After some minutes, we reach my house and I turn back.
"Is this your house?" He asks looking surprised
"Yeah" I turn back and look at him again. What's so surprising about the house.
"It's cool" He says smiling
"Thanks maybe next time you can take me to yours."
"Sure next time." I wave goodbye and walk into the house and hear my mom and dad quarreling.
"It's all your fault, Cam is missing" dad says
"How can it be my fault? I have been working all round the clock and all you do is it sit your lazy ass reading some god damn newspaper. I was too busy. The least you could do is help me pick him up from school." Mom says
"Oh well. Why don't you call the police?"
"Yes. I better do before it gets too dark."
"I'm home mom, dad." I shout out loud. I hear some footsteps from the kitchen and I see mom running towards looking happy and she kneels down and hugs me.
"Are you okay? Did anything happen?" She asks checking my body and sees dusts all over my clothes.
"What happened?" She asks again looking more serious. What should I say?
"Uhm.. I just fell down mom while playing with me friends."
"Ahh thank goodness you're okay."
"I knew he would come back home eventually." Dad says as he enters the living room holding a glass of a red liquid.
Mom breathes in harshly and out slowly
"Cam honey, why don't you go upstairs and remove this dirty clothes and don't mix them with the clean ones and I will call you to come and have dinner, Alright?"
"Alright mom" I say going upstairs to my room.
"Look, Richard I don't think I can continue with this marriage anymore." That's the last statement I hear before I close my room door.

As I continued going to school and coming back, I kept meeting Chen on the way and we became friends instantly. I would show him what we learnt and he would show me what he drew and he can really draw. After about some months, we became BFFS.  As I got home, I notice dad wasn't around around lately and if I ask mom she would say he is on a business trip. Till I got to understand he isn't coming back anymore After about five months friendship with Chen he suddenly stopped coming to our usual spot where would we meet. Its been about a week he hasnt been coming. I decide to go to his house because he had showed me the way and I see crowd with a body in front of them. I become scared, as I went forward. I hear some women say somethong about how pitiful the dead woman is. I then understood it wasn't Chen. Where could he be?
I see a boy and i go to him and ask if he saw Chen because he was Chen's neighbour.
"I saw him leave with a man and woman in a car and they look very very rich."
"Okay, thanks."

I go back home and rest for the mean time. I kept going back to our usual spot but he never came and that's when I knew he wasn't coming back and it made me sad as if I had lost my mom. First dad and them Chen.
