Flying Away Part 2/2
Josh's POV; Same day; 3:40am
"Huh." I smirked. "Katy's expectant, isn't she?"
Shawn slowly nodded his head.
"Damn, Hunter. You were the one who was afraid that I'd knock up Maya. Turns out you were pretty busy yourself." I nudged him.
"Shut up." he snaps. "It's different. I'm married." He flashed his wedding band at me.
"I know." I put my hands up in surrender.
"So Eric and Alex have their bags packet just in case, right?" Shawn asked.
"Yup. I told them to because something always ends up getting sick, going to the hospital, in a tornado, getting pregnant, or blowing up." I chuckled.
"Well anyway, I gotta head back. Katy had morning sickness." Shawn sighed. "Aw, poor thing. Tell her I hope she feels better." I said sympathetically.
"Yeah, sure." He muttered and turned to leave, but then swung back around.
"Don't tell Maya. We want to tell her in person when she gets back so she can have a stress-free trip."
"Good idea. Bye." I waved at him. "Alex, Eric, grab your bags, you're filling in." I announced. Alex jokingly grabbed the (nonexistent) bags under his eyes.
"So why are we doing this?" He asked, his fingers still clutching his under eyes.
"Smart ass." I grumbled. "Katy and Shawn aren't coming."
"Ah, okay. Any reason why?" he asked.
"Uh..." I tried to find the words to explain. "Personal reasons."
Dammit I hope I wasn't too obvious.
"Okey dokey." he winked.
"Jambeau!" Eric screeched from the other room. "I can't find my underpants!"
"There on your head." I didn't even look at him. They're always there.
"Oh. Yeah. Thanks, Jaspideous." he muttered.
"Eric is going?!" Topanga asked in horror.
"Yep." he sang.
"Greaaat." she groaned. "Mayor of Stupidtown meets California."
"Topaesthesia, it's St. Upid." he whined.
"El Stupido, it's Topanga." she growled.
Eric started yelling in another language that sounded like gibberish, a dying caveman, and a screeching cat.
"Everybody ready? We have to leave." I stated.
I heard a 'Yes' a 'Yep' an 'Okay' from the normal part of the family, and a 'LAPU CONWAYSA SHLIPANI!' from Eric.
Lucas, who had apparently entered unnoticed, stared directly at Riley, who had just come into the room. "I will soon." he said. Oh boy. He's up to something. This is gonna get interesting.
Riley's POV; 4 hours later; past airport security; entering the airplane
We all entered the plane. I sat by myself because my parents were sitting together, Alex was blabbing with Farkle, and Maya and Josh, being a couple, wanted to sit together.
Lucas sat himself down next to me, shooting me that cute grin of his.
"Hi." I smiled at him.
"Riley, I'm so sorry for what I did to you. I should've known I'd regret liking Maya. I just wanted to take my mind off of you. I heard that you and Farkle were together before you announced it." he explained.
"Oh. Why didn't you say that earlier?" I asked.
"I dunno. I'm such an idiot." he put his head in his hands and sighed.
"Lucas, can we start over?" I asked.
He nodded with a half-smile on his face.
"I'm Riley." I gave him a megawatt grin.
"I'm Lucas." He returned the look.
"I love it!" I giggled. Ah, nostalgia.
I grabbed him by the face and kissed him. This time it was a real kiss instead of blowing a raspberry on his lips, just like I did in 7th grade. We actually kissed this time and I actually got my lips on his instead of kissing the corner of his mouth like I did last time. (A/N I'm just sitting on a chair, typing this. Making fun of the first Rucas kiss hahahaha)
Ah, old memories.
Maya's POV
Josh and I were sitting together on the plane. He let me have the window seat. What a gentleman! (Har har har)
I stared out the window as we prepped for takeoff, then looked back over at Josh.
His jaw was clenched, his fists too, and his eyebrows were knitted together in a menacing glare. He was looking at Riley and Lucas... kissing?
Oh boy. Something happened with them and I can tell Josh is NOT happy.
"Josh, honey?" I whispered gently.
He kept staring at Lucas with a slightly disturbing look on his face. He's really overprotective, especially when it comes to Riley or me.
"Josh." I said a little louder and put a hand in his fist. He relaxed his clenched fist and looked at me, his grim countenance softening instantly. His brown eyes went from a piercing gaze to a kinder, gentler gaze. He relaxed slightly. "Hmm? What?" he murmured.
"You okay? You looked like you were about to murder Lucas." I giggled softly.
He sighed. "He hurt her once. He hurt you, too. He tried to steal you from me. I don't want to give him the chance to do it again. I don't know if I can forgive him." he sighed and glanced at Riley who was now giggling at something Lucas said. He looked back at me and bit his lip slightly.
"But you have to eventually." I shrugged.
"Says who? Just because my niece likes him doesn't mean I have to." he grumbled.
"That's childish." I rolled my eyes.
"Look, Maya, I love you, but can we let this drop?"
"Fine. But not forever."
"I'll settle for that." He chuckled and gave me a gentle kiss.
"Flight attendants, prepare for takeoff." An announcement was stated over the PA system.
Here we go!
