It's the season of hot chocolate and gingerbread and I couldn't be more miserable. It's been 3 days since my argument with Natsu and I haven't seen him on campus so he's either gone home for break or is avoiding me.

I have spent the start of my holiday binge watching shows while stuffing my face with ice cream. Erza has gone somewhere with Jellal so I had an excuse.

As I was finishing my book I heard a ping which I recognised to be my phone. I got up with a yawn and lazily trudged over.

From Gray
You at campus? I need company and you owe me a rematch :P

I hadn't spoken to Gray either but it doesn't seem to be awkward. I quickly text my response.

From Lucy
Finally, some social interaction. Be there in 10 be ready to get your ass whipped xD

I grin at my phone and quickly get ready not forgetting my money to place a 'friendly' wager.

I rushed out eager to talk to a real human, I was quite earlier so I decided to pick up some drinks for the two of us.

When I got to Gray's dorm I knocked and in a instant he was standing there in only joggers.

I quickly looked away and I guess he realised as he slammed the door in my face.

After a couple seconds the door re-opened with a rather red clothed Gray.

"Sorry about that." He awkwardly said while scratching his neck.

I just chuckled in response.

"I brought drinks, White Americano is your favourite right?"

"Yes! Your the best Luce." He exclaimed taking the drink from my hands. I looked away to hide the tinge of red on my cheeks.

"So time for that re-match?" I asked breaking the silence.

"Ready as ever!" He grinned and grabbed his controller.

"No bet this time?" I said disappointed hoping I would get a few bucks.

He looked at me and looked away. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

" um just how the bet ended last time..." He replied quietly.

The memory flashed in my head and I felt a twinge of sadness in my gut.

Not wanting to wallow anymore than I have I out on a smile.

"Let's forget about that, I bet £30!"

He grinned, "That money is as good as mine!"

30 minutes later I was dancing on the table victorious while Gray was whining on the couch.

"Aww is whittle Gray sad he lost?" I teased in a baby voice.

"Shut up show off!"

I just chuckled and collapsed on the couch next to him.

"Why are you here and not with your family?" I asked genuinely curios.

"I could ask you the same thing," I looked away and he sighed, "My dads been missing for around 3 years now and my mum is in a drunken oblivion. The day you found me on the roof was the anniversary of his disappearance."

"I'm sorry." I said quietly feeling guilty for bringing it up.

"My mum died when I was young and now my dad only cared about money and his business." I explained feeling as I owe him my answer.

"I'm sorry." He replied. We sat there for a while in silence when suddenly there was a knock at the door.

"That's strange." Gray said while standing up.

I quickly moved out of view remembering last time this happened.

Gray opened the door and his eyes widened in surprise.

GRAY P.O.V

I opened the door only to be greeted with a crying blue haired girl. My eyes widened in shock recognising her.

"Juvia what's wrong?" I questioned.

"Juvia's sad because Gray-sama loves someone else."

What is she talking about!?

"What are you talking about?"

"Juvia ran into Natsu-San and found out you love Lucy-san." She sobbed even more.

DOES NATSU KNOW?!?

I looked over to Lucy who was looking at her feet guilt all over her face.

I sighed not knowing what to do.

"Look Juvia I don't love Lucy, but why are you crying about it?"

"Because she loves you idiot." Lucy said coming into view. Juvia's eyes widened.

"She always has and you've been an idiot not to notice. Juvia I'm sorry about what Natsu said and I'm even more sorry that it's true but it was just a kiss." Lies.

"Lucy-san isn't Juvia's love rival?" She questioned.

Lucy looked down at her feet before hugging her friend and whispered something I couldn't hear. Right after she grabbed her bag and left leaving me and Juvia.

"I- I never realised." I said still shocked.

"Does Gray-sama hate Juvia now?" She asked reluctantly.

"No, no! I don't hate you, I just need time to process this. It's getting late what about we talk tomorrow?"

"Juvia is leaving to Russia to see her family tonight."

"Oh." I replied disappointed "when do you get back?"

"Christmas Eve, my family does not believe in Christmas so we don't celebrate it."

"You mean you've never had Christmas?!" I nearly yelled astonished.

She shook her head.

"Well how about when you get back we can spend Christmas together?" I asked and I swear her eyes literally lit up. She squealed before hugging me.

"Juvia would love to spend Christmas with Gray-sama! But I have to go to the airport now I can't wait to see you!" She cooed.

I smiled as she disappeared around the corner. Maybe I wasn't in love with Lucy after all.

Lucy's P.O.V
Maybe I am falling for Gray after all. But it can't happen. I just have to get over the pain.
