Chapter Three: The Nosy Co-Worker
A few hours passed since Daemon left. Jaeyde opened her drawer and pulled out her journal. She had to write this down.
I can't even describe the way I feel right now. Daemon took my body places I never thought were possible. He made me feel so sexy. Like I was wanted. Like he needed me. That man almost did things to me that should be illegal in all fifty states. No this wasn't a dream. It was real. I can still feel his lips on mine as I write this. And he's not even here right now. I've never been so hot and bothered in my life as I am now. I know I said I wasn't that type of girl, but after what just took place; I may let my guard down and give in to how I'm feeling.
She quickly closed her journal and placed it in her drawer, in case anyone decides to come to her office. Jaeyde placed everything that Daemon tossed on the floor where they belonged and put her hair up into a messy bun just as Kelly knocked lightly on her door.
"Come in..." Jaeyde said as she sat down in her chair. Kelly smiled.
"So how was the interview?"
"It was very informative. I learned a lot about him and his company."
"That's good." Kelly replied and walked over to one of the chairs. She sat down. "Did you kiss him?"
"Kelly!"
"What?! I just want to know..."
"No I didn't..." Jaeyde lied. Kelly didn't need to know what she and Daemon did. Kelly might tell their boss.
"Well, why not? Shoot, I would've...with his sexy self..."
"I can't with you, Kelly! Get out of here!" Jaeyde replied, giggling softly as she tossed a paper ball at Kelly that was sitting on her desk.
"I'm serious, Jaeyde! You should've claimed him as yours before these other bitches snatch him up! I already saw one eyeballing him before he left."
"Really? Who?"
"Shandra's sneaky man-stealing behind." Kelly hissed, trying not to let anyone hear them. Jaeyde made a disgusted sound in the back of her throat even though she knew Kelly was just being mean and only going along with an old rumor that was spread about Shandra, as she now began typing up the interview she just had with Daemon. "She was staring him down for the longest. She didn't talk to or touch him though. Just stared."
"Good."
"My thoughts exactly." Kelly said as Jaeyde's phone rang.
Jaeyde laughed a little as she answered it. Putting the phone on speaker. "Hello?"
"Miss Wiese. A Mr. Daemon Blackheart is on line two for you..."
"Okay thank you, Bree..." She replied, hanging up. Kelly smiled.
"Ooh Mr. Man is on the phone for you..."
"Goodbye, Kelly..."
"Aw, but I want to hear his voice too..."
"Don't you have work to do...?" Jaeyde replied jokingly with a smile as Kelly stood up.
"Yeah, okay, I'm going..." she replied and walked out the door, shutting it behind her.
Once Kelly was gone, Jaeyde picked up the phone's receiver and pressed two.
"Hello, Daemon..."
"Jaeyde..." His voice poured through the receiver into Jaeyde's ears. She let out a soft moan.
"Didn't we just see each other and you're calling me?"
"Yes. I just wanted to hear your voice again."
"Oh..."
"Did you enjoy yourself...?"
"Yes, of course. Did you?"
"Yes. I did. I wish we didn't have to stop...but I know it was for the best."
"Me too..."
"I hope I wasn't being too forward when I...attacked you...that way..."
"No, you weren't. I didn't mind being attacked...but we can't have that happen again or something will definitely happen next time." Jaeyde confessed. Daemon laughed a little.
"Jae...?" he said in a low, sexy tone. Making the temperature in Jaeyde's office rise about ten inches. A low, soft moan escaped her lips.
"Hmm..."
"I want you right now and it's your fault..." Daemon mumbled with a small smile.
"H-how is that my fault, Daemon?"
"The way you smiled at me, the way you smelled, the way you bit your bottom lip, the way you said my name, the way you dressed. You wore that skirt just for me, huh?"
"And what if I didn't?"
"You did..."
"Maybe I did...but the plan wasn't to be attacked." Jaeyde replied with a smile. Daemon laughed a little.
"You're so bad..." he said, his country accent slipping out and greeting Jaeyde's ears. He sounded very different from the professional Daemon she had met just hours before. She didn't mind though, she thought he sounded sexy either way.
"Mm..."
"I can't wait to get my hands on you again..." Daemon blurted out suddenly. Jaeyde moaned lowly.
"Goddamn it, Daemon. Don't talk like that. I'm at work. I have to be professional."
"There was nothing professional about you when I was about to have you spread eagle on your desk, licking the sweet nectar from your center just a few hours ago..."
"Daemon..."
"Tell me you didn't want me to do it..."
"..."
"Tell me you don't want me to come back and bend you over that desk right now..."
"..."
"That's what I thought..." Daemon said, laughing a little. Jaeyde crossed her legs at the tingling feeling between them. Her body shook. She couldn't believe she was feeling this way just from his words alone.
"Daemon...we need to change the subject."
"Was that too much for you...?" he asked, his voice filled with lust.
"Yes...Jeez..."
"I apologize. I'm being too forward again."
"No, you're fine. It was a little too much for me, though. Just a little."
Daemon chuckled. "Oh okay. Change of subject then."
"Yes, a subject change would be nice..."
"When can I see you again, Jae...?"
"Hmm...?"
"When can I see you again...?" Daemon repeated softly. They just saw each other and he wants to see her again?!
"Um...how about Friday...? I'm off work then. We can do something fun..."
"Mm...I'll look forward to that..."
"Oh hush..." Jaeyde replied, giggling softly. "Now get off my phone. You're distracting me from typing up our interview..."
Daemon laughed. "Alright, Jae. See you Friday."
"See you." She replied softly with a smile and hung up. Before she knew it, the door burst open. Jaeyde looked up from typing and saw Kelly standing there with a shocked expression.
"What's up, Kel?"
Kelly shut the door and sat down in one of the chairs before speaking.
"You actually did it!" she hissed with that same shocked expression.
"What are you talking about?"
"You fucked Daemon!"
"No I didn't, Kelly!"
"Yes you did! Or at least you almost let him 'taste your sweet nectar while being spread eagle on the table.'"
"You were listening to my phone call, Kelly?!" Jaeyde hissed embarrassed that Kelly heard everything she and Daemon were talking about.
"What?! You didn't let me stay and hear his voice, so I had to find another way to hear it. Girl, from what I heard he will put it down if you let him."
"Kelly!"
"What?! Just give me something! I want to know!"
"Oh my God, Kelly! Get out of here!"
"Jaeyde!"
"Go!"
"Okay, Okay!" Kelly mumbled and stood up. She poked out her bottom lip as she walked over to the door, opened it, and walked out.
Jaeyde would have to be a little more careful with her personal calls from now on. Who knows who could be listening next time?
¥
Friday rolled around and Jaeyde was nervous. She didn't know what to expect from this date...if anything at all. She doesn't want to seem close-minded about this. She just hopes she wouldn't be wasting her time with this man.
"I have nothing to wear! Shoot!" Jaeyde complained as she tossed practically half her clothes out of the closet. "And he'll be here to pick me up in two hours!"
"Jae, just relax. You have plenty of clothes to wear." Jaeyde's best friend, Gabrielle, said as she picked up an outfit. She had finally returned from visiting her family in New Jersey and stopped by to visit her. "How about this?"
"No, not that."
"What's wrong with it?"
"It makes me look desperate. Like I'm asking for it."
"Honey, you are asking for it." Gabby joked as Jaeyde peeked out of the closet and looked at her. "I'm just joking, Jae. Look, he'll love you in whatever you put on..."
"Okay...maybe you're right."
"Exactly. And you need to live a little honey. Have fun with Daemon. Whether y'all make out or whatever you decide to do tonight. You're both adults."
"You're right. I do need to live a little."
"Right. And I think this would be perfect..." Gabby replied, picking up a black lace cocktail dress. Jaeyde smiled. That was the one.
It took Jaeyde about an hour to get ready. This gave her another hour to wait for Daemon to arrive. She wasn't sure if he would like the way she looked.
"Are you sure I look okay?"
"Jae, stop it! You look beautiful. And if he doesn't like it, forget him!" Gabby replied. Jaeyde laughed.
An hour came and went by so fast; Jaeyde's head felt like it was spinning. There was a knock at the door. She felt like she couldn't breathe. "That's him. Are you sure I look okay? I feel like something's missing."
"You look beautiful, Jae. Now go answer the door."
"Okay." Jaeyde replied with a smile as she walked over to the door and unlocked it.
"Hey, Jae." Daemon said, smiling a little. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you." She replied, her cheeks turning a bright red.
"You ready to go?"
"Yes."
"Bring my best friend home at a decent hour..." Gabby called out to Daemon, jokingly with a small smile. He laughed.
"I will."
"Daemon, Gabby. Gabby, Daemon." Jaeyde said, quickly introducing them.
"Nice to meet you."
"You too. Have fun."
"We will."
Daemon and Jaeyde said their goodbyes to Gabby and left. Daemon walked Jaeyde to the passenger's side of his car and opened the door for her.
"Thank you." She said with a smile and got in. She put on her seat belt.
"You're welcome." Daemon replied with a smile and closed the door. He went around to the driver's side, opened the door, got in and closed the door. He started the car and drove off.
"So, where are you taking me?"
"You'll see." he replied, smiling.
"Oh, it's a surprise?"
"Yup."
"I'm scared." Jaeyde replied, jokingly. Daemon laughed.
"Don't be. It'll be fun. I promise."
"Okay, I trust you." She replied softly. Jaeyde just put all of her trust in a man she barely even knows. Hopefully he doesn't disappoint her.
Daemon smiled. "Okay, close your eyes, Jae." Daemon said, once they were close to reaching their destination.
"What? But I..."
"You said you trust me, right?" he said, glancing out of the corner of his eye at Jaeyde.
"Yes..."
"Then close your eyes."
"Okay..." She replied, closing her eyes.
"Keep them closed. We're almost there." he said softly as they pulled up to their destination.
Daemon parked the car, got out, went around to Jaeyde's side and opened her door. He helped her out of the car all while instructing her to keep her eyes closed. She did. Suddenly, her world went dark. She had to trust Daemon to get her safely to...wherever he was taking her. It takes a lot for someone to earn Jaeyde's trust and Daemon earned it very quickly.
"Are we almost there?"
"Almost..."
"Are you sure?"
"Mhm."
"Okay..."
"Okay, open them..." Daemon whispered softly in Jaeyde's ear once they made it to where he wanted them to be.
She opened her eyes and gasped. It was beautiful.
"I thought we would have dinner on the pier tonight."
"It's beautiful, Daemon."
"I thought you would like It." he replied as he pulled out her chair for her. She sat down and he pushed her chair in. He sat down in his chair.
Everything was beautiful. The dinner. The soft music. The conversation. Jaeyde almost didn't want to leave. Daemon and Jaeyde talked about everything and nothing as they got to know each other a little better. They talked about their likes, dislikes. Even their exes. Only for a little while. Jaeyde picked up her glass of wine at the same time Daemon picked up his.
"To us...and this wonderful date..."
"To us..." he replied, smiling a little. They clinked glasses.
"Did you know this is my first real date...?" Jaeyde asked, placing her glass on the table after taking a sip of wine.
"Really?"
"Mhm..."
"You've never been on a date before?"
"No, I have. It just didn't count as an official date. If that makes sense."
"Kind of."
"My ex took me to my senior prom when we were in high school. He tried to take me on a couple of dates after that but it just didn't feel right. I decided we were better off as friends..."
"Oh okay. I'm glad I could be your first."
"Me too." Jaeyde replied, smiling.
On the way back to Jaeyde's home, they talked a little more and found out they had a lot of things in common. Jaeyde enjoyed that she could relate to him in some way. Daemon enjoyed it too. He usually wasn't a one woman man, but Jaeyde was beginning to change his mind a little. She surprised him in so many ways and this was only their first date. She definitely surprised him the day of the interview when she denied his advances. No other woman has done that before and it intrigued him.
"Jae...you're home..." Daemon said softly, shaking Jaeyde awake a couple hours later. She stirred.
"Hmm...?"
"You're home..." he replied softly. Jaeyde hadn't realized she fell asleep.
"Sorry..." She mumbled as she unbuckled her seat belt.
"For what?"
"Falling asleep. I didn't plan on going to sleep."
"Oh, it's cool, baby. You were tired."
"But still..." She mumbled softly.
"It's cool, Jae. You looked cute sleeping anyway."
"Really?"
"Mhm." Daemon replied softly with a smile. "Let's get you inside before Gabby cusses me out. If she's still here."
Those words made Jaeyde laugh. "Okay."
Daemon got out, closed the door, walked around to Jaeyde's side, opened the door and helped her out of the car. They walked up to her front door. Jaeyde's head rested on Daemon's shoulder. His arm was around her waist. They made it to her front door and stood there. Jaeyde turned to Daemon after she unlocked her door.
"Thank you for tonight, Daemon. Everything was so beautiful."
"You're welcome."
"Good night..." She said softly with a smile. He smiled.
"Good night."
Jaeyde was about to turn away from him, but Daemon grabbed her arm and pulled her close to him. He placed a soft kiss on her lips.
"Good night." he mumbled softly again after he broke the kiss.
"Good night." She replied softly as she now watched him walk to his car and get inside.
Daemon waited for Jaeyde to go inside the house before pulling off. He smiled to himself as he thought about everything that just happened. Jaeyde closed the door and leaned against it, smiling to herself as she thought about how much fun she had with Daemon tonight. It was a good night for both of them.
