It's been three years since I had Matteo on the day of my fight and new friendship with Monica. I graduated and went to college for two years together with Monica. We were actually roommates and we left and moved into an apartment together. We took care of Matteo and with Monica's and my dads help it was slot easier. Especially with my career at a DJ taking off. That night I had a gig at the Gorilla Club and it was like three steps away from Coachella.
Monica and I got dressed up in our fanciest hipster outfits, then she did out hair and makeup since she went to school to be a cosmetologist.
My daddy was watching Matteo for a couple days so I had a few days to relax and have fun. When we got to the Gorilla Club the guard let us straight in since she came with me when I tried out and my DJ skills blew them away. As we walked up to the bar,  before we could make it the manager Penelope greeted us.
Penelope: Kaylen I'm so glad your here, we need you to go and DJ right now. You and your friend get free drinks for the night.
Me: Okay I'm gonna start with me remix of I'm Not Famous
I walked past all the people to the North West side of the Club and walk up the staircase to the turn table. I hooked up my laptop and played the song as I added in beats and rewinded and replayed it. Then as I was in the middle of the remix, I spotted a guy in the crowd giving me a look that no one else was giving me.
He was smirking and squinting his eyes to get a better look at me. Penelope told me I get a break between each song so when I was done with that song I played one of my tracks and I walked down the stairs to the bar. I sat next to Monica and before I could get a word out to her,  someone tapped my shoulder.
Man: Can I buy you a drink?
Me: I actually get my drinks free tonight, so can I get you a drink?
Man: Sure, I'll take a Reds Apple Ale.
Me: One Reds Apple Ale and a virgin Mojito.
Man: What's your name cutie?
Me: Kaylen Blade, you?
Man: Hudson Myles. Are you here alone?
Me: Nope, I'm with her.
I pointed to Monica behind us who was eavesdropping as the bartender brought us our drinks. Hudson: So do you DJ full time
Me: Yep, when I'm not being a mom.
Hudson: Oh, cute. How old?
Me: I have a three year old son named Matteo.
Hudson: Will he be at your home tonight?
I shook my head
Hudson: Will she be at your home tonight?
Me: Unfortunately
I smirked
Hudson: Would you like to come to my place tonight?
Me: I would be happy to
I gave my keys to Monica and told her I was gonna go home with Hudson. That's when Penelope came up to me.
Penelope: Kaylen, you can go home early, we're having trouble in the kitchen so we're going to close soon.
I nodded then looked over at Hudson.
Me: Shall we go
Hudson: Right this way
He grabbed my hand and lead my towards the exit then opened his car door for me.
When we got to his house, it was huge and beautiful. The inside was warm and toasty so I took off my coat and hung it up near the door. That's when we headed upstairs.
