"When you said 'Let's go up to my family's cabin for a weekend.' This wasn't exactly what I had in mind." Andy said, staring out the window. Snow was falling heavily. A good two feet was already on the ground. You put your hands on your hips.
"In my defense I didn't know about the snowstorm." You snapped.
"Would you two knock it off? Nobody's happy with the situation." Juliet sighed. She was wrapped in a blanket on the couch squished between CC and Inna.
"You're right. Sorry, Y/N."
"Its okay. Everyone is a little stressed." You gave him a smile that he returned.
"We need something to do. Any ideas? Anyone?" Inna asked.
"I think I saw some board games in the closet upstairs. I'll be right back." You ran up the staircase, nearly bumping into Jinxx.
"Careful." He said. You giggled.
"Sorry." You said as you walked past him. There were indeed board games in the closet. Life, Monopoly and Jenga. Or half of Jenga. As well as two puzzles and a deck of cards. You grabbed it all and went back downstairs. You set the pile on the coffee table.
"This is what we've got." Juliet looked through it before sighing.
"Anyone up for a game of life?" A chorus of positive answers followed. You set up the game on the coffee table.
"There aren't enough cars for everyone to get their own so what if we play in teams?" Inna suggested, "Me and Jake, CC and Anna, Juliet and Andy and Y/N and Ashley or Jinxx. You can debate between the three of you." Jinxx and Ashley looked at each other and shrugged and then looked at you.
"Who would you rather team up with?" Jinxx asked. You smiled mischievously.
"How 'bout you two team up. I'll beat all of you all by myself." You suggested. Ashley smirked.
"Alright. I bet you twenty bucks Jinxx and I beat you."
"Deal." A half hour passed and you were broke.
"Ha! You're losing!" Ashley said, sticking his tongue out at you childishly.
"Stupid SUV. I have one fucking child why do I need an SUV." You spun and moved three spaces. "I don't want to buy a fucking summer home! I can't afford one! Fucking hell." You threw $120,000 in play money at Andy who was the banker. Everyone laughed. "Go ahead. Laugh. It'll be you in five minutes." Then it was Ashley and Jinxx's turn.
"$500,000 for life saving operation. I'd be annoyed, buts it's saving your life so. . ." Ashley said, handing Andy the money.
"My life? How do we know it's not your life we're saving?" Jinxx asked.
"Because I wouldn't spend $500,000 to save my life. I don't even have $500,000 to spend, but if my wife need a life saving operation I'd go into debt to save her life."
"Aww! How sweet. See he does love you Jinxx." Laughter filled the cabin.
"Of course I love Jinxx. He's my wife. What kind of husband would I be if I didn't love him." Ashley joked while throwing an arm around Jinxx and kissed his cheek.
"Why am I the woman in this relationship?" He asked. Ashley shrugged.
"You even bicker like an old married couple. Hah! I'm suing CC and Anna." Jake said, chuckling. CC threw $100,000 bill at him. A half hour later the game was almost over and you were fairly certain you weren't going to win.
"Fuck! My phone's in the kitchen, I need to borrow someone else's to add up my money." You said. Juliet handed you her phone. Her lock screen was an adorable pic of her and Andy. You opened the calculator app and added up your money.
"$1,309,000." You said, handing Juliet's phone back to her.
"$1,311,000! Ha! Twenty bucks!" You groaned in annoyance.
"I'll pay you later." You say back on the couch.
"Well now what?" Anna asked. You stood and grabbed your phone. You connected it to your speaker and played your boredom playlist. The first song that played was Put The Gun Down. You offered Jinxx your hand,
"Dance with me?" He smiled and took your hand. You started dancing around, spinning and twirling and giggling. Andy and Juliet joined you a few minutes later and before you knew it everyone was dancing.
"Can anybody hear me? Can anybody see me?" You sang the chorus, Jinxx smiled and sang it with you.
"Put the gun down, just put the gun down." Everyone was singing and dancing and laughing. Drown by BMTH started next.
"I love this song!" You exclaimed and started singing along. You grabbed Ashley's hand ands started dancing with him while continuing to sing. Suddenly the song switched instead playing a soft instrumental piece. You glanced to the kitchen counter, where you'd left your phone, just in time to see Jinxx setting it back down. You gave him a glare and he just smiled in return. Ashley pulled you to his chest and started swaying. You giggled and rested your hands on his shoulders while he put his on your waist. You had no romantic feelings for Ashley, but you hadn't danced like that since prom. It was nice. Ashley took one of your hands in his and spun you out. Before he could spin you back in Jinxx grabbed your hand and started waltzing with you. You didn't even know he could waltz.
"I didn't know you could waltz." You said.
"I learned before Sammi and I got married. It was an inside joke the two of us shared and I surprised her on our wedding day by waltzing with her." You immediately regretted bringing it up when you saw how sad he got while talking about Sammi.
"I'm sorry I brought it up."
"It's okay." He gave you a reassuring smile, "It's all in the past." You returned his smile. You glanced around and saw Jake and Inna dancing as well as CC and Anna and Juliet and Andy. Ashley was standing to the side filming everything on his phone.
"This was not how I saw today playing out," you told Jinxx while watching everyone dancing and smiling, "But I can't say I'm unhappy with what happened."
"Thank god for the snowstorm." He said jokingly.
"Yeah. Probably could've done without being snowed in, but that's what we get for coming up to the cabin for a weekend in March." You shrugged, "I'll take the blame for poor planning, but I also take credit for the entertainment."
"You still owe me twenty bucks." Ashley shouted from the other side of the room. You gave him the finger and he laughed, "That doesn't get you out of paying me. Just saying." You stopped paying him any attention after that. The song ended and Jinxx let you go.
"Thanks for the dance. It was a lot of fun even though I had no idea what I was doing." You smiled and brushed your hair behind your ear.
"Maybe I'll teach you sometime instead of just pulling you around with me."
"I'd like that." You pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before walking over to your phone,"Now as wonderful as this music is I need something more upbeat." You turned on your playlist again and the first song that played was Rebel Love Song. You turned around and caught Jinxx looking at you. You gave him a smile. Maybe he was your rebel love. The thought had certainly crossed your mind a few(dozen) times. You blushed as that thought crossed your mind. Jinxx smirked as if he knew what you were thinking. And maybe he did.
