Chapter 6

Yoru's POV

The building had halls fixed with doors on both sides. I opened a few and each one led to a spiral staircase that led underground. I happened to come across a door that had this one particular symbol on it.

A crescent moon with an X near the curve of it. It had arrows through it, and two hash marks on the other end.

I sat in our room that we were put in for the time being. Akairi had fallen asleep, and I sat in silence. Our room had burgundy colored walls, an old dusty bookshelf that looked like they have never been used, and a desk in the corner with a TV. Me being the booknerd I am, I walked towards the books, each filled with one special story.

The books read;

The Tale I

A Discover II

The rest of the books were blank. Cover and pages! What?! Maybe if I went searching in the halls, I could find the rest of the books, or a library!

"I'll be back." I whispered back towards Akairi who was snoozing away. I knew she couldn't hear me. Yet, I felt the need to still tell her. That led me to think what Aphrodite, Hana, and Izumi were doing. Hopefully not possessing any more demons!

I picked the lock on the door. It was a thick, stoned, and heavy door so it required some strength. Closing the door behind me I got a chilling feeling. Turning around I ran into Yato.

'DAMMIT' My thoughts screamed.

"Leaving already? Party hasn't even started." He smirked.

"Doing a bit of exploring. Gotta get used to my surroundings if I'm going to be here a while, right?" I sassed. I didn't like this Yato guy. To be honest if I answered the door I would of asked about one hundred questions before having some stranger lock me up somewhere. But I trust Akairi with her desicions.

"The door was locked for a reason." His face changed, from smirky to serious.

"Never said I wasn't allowed to leave." His face seemed irritated.

"Fine, then," Yato's smirk grew back "Get back in the room, I'll have dinner ready in a few." What was his reason of going through all the trouble when he could of just saved two trips. IDIOT!

"Then what was the point of wasting time to come down here, when you could've just brought dinner when it was ready?" Reasurring him seemed to make things more intense.

"To see if you guys were still alive. I ended up catching you in action, so in the end it was all worth the "wasted time." He taunted. I swear this Yato pisses me off.

Opening my new room door, Akairi had woken up. She was sitting in the cornor of the bed. Knees pulled up, and head rested on top of them. Her nails clawed into the matress. My stomach turned and twisted. I felt as if I was on fire! Akairi's head shot up with the sound of Yato and I approaching. Her eyes were not the Akairi I knew, but the eyes that belonged to a monster in human form. Her fangs develpoed into their true form finally (not really a good thing). Her fangs had pierced her lips which were now bleeding a bit. Quickly, Akairi's tounge wipped away the bit of blood that had began to drip downward. The sight of her licking her own blood, just made me shift even faster.

"Yoru!" Yato shouted right next to me, although he seemed so far away, I had hit my knees.

"It's... okay.. check.. are you.. bleeding?!"I did my best to tell him I could take this craziness. I've surprisingly taken on a possessive demon, I most likely could take on a vampire driven nuts by the scent of blood. That brings me to thinking about what makes me shift. Blood does it for vampires. Does aggression, or stress maybe do it for me?

Yato began to stare at his left hand. How did I not notice before?! His left hand was wrapped in a crappy white bandage. The blood began to seep through.

"What the!? Are you an idiot?! Blood basic- AH!" I was unsurprisingly interrupted by a scream. I was shifting faster and more painfully than usually. "Basically triggers vampire's craziness. Get out of here! Back to the kitchen!" I finally finished my sentence from before.

"Kitchen is on the second floor. Room Kb. Find me when things are settled." Yato spoke and ran. Me being on my knees by now, I crawled through the doorway closing the door with my foot.

I felt my tail, ears and incredibly sharp teeth.

I, Yoru, was once again a wolf.

Akairi uncontrollably (I hope) hissed at me. I responded with a growl and a snarl. She now stood in front of the bed, just at least five feet away.

'Calm down, learn to control it. Firgure it Akairi!' I sent her the message mindly. She screamed as she held her head. 'I'm not going away until you listen to me!' I sent.

"Ah!! What.... ARE.. you?!" She screamed, as her fangs disappeared. Black eyes that once belonged to her wished upon monster, now formed into her usual brown eyes she had since day one. "Ugh...." She painfully grunted and fell. I pawed at her, but she was knocked out. Pulling her by her shirt by my teeth I sat her some what up.

I flinched when the collapsing pain of me shifting returned. It hurt like Hell! To experience your bones (mine being a wolf's at the moment) transform back into a humans, same doing to your insides. It's not a pleasant feeling. I put on clothes (since mine ripped). I was back to my original self. I carried Akairi back to bed. And once again, snuck out of the room to find Yato.

Climbing this long ass stair case, I was making it to the second floor. The sound of my footsteps, and breathing echoed like crazy. This place was like an empty, old, school. Or something.

Entering the second floor's hallway, I smelt fresh food being made. I came across the door I needed.

Kb

Touching, the door swung open, and Yato jumped.

"Knocking is useful." He assured me.

"I'm a wolf, would you rather me howl?" I pointed out.

"You've got a point, but you wouldn't go through all that trouble, just for me. Would you?" Anger was settling and I felt a sharp pain or two. Maybe anger was my triger?!

"Damn right I wouldn't. So whatcha making, smells delicious."

"I was making pasta, and some soup thinking you both were anything but what you were actually are." He became still. "I guess, this isn't really useful anymore." He mumbled to himself.

"What did you expect? A rabbit and a turtle?!" I laughed at him, while showing my face with different kinds of food I found on the counters.

"No! I don't normally deal with your kind. Never knew they existed." Yato confessed.

"That makes two of us," I swallowed what food there was left to swallow. Nothing was really feeling in for what I craved most! Meat!! "So then, what do you deal with?" If it wasn't us, who, or what was it?

"Physics, and people who develop extras." Hana was physic. But what was an extra?

"Extra?" I made it clear I didn't know what he meant.

"Like, being able to move things with your mind. Stuff like that. It's called an extra. Some unnatural skill you develope or are born with." Yato finished summing his answer to my question.

"Mm."

If Yato never dealt with kinds like ours, what exactly were we here for, and what was he going to do with us?

"No worries. I'm sure This'll be fun!" His remark set my temper off.

"Don't push it kid!" I bit back (not literally).

"May I point out that, you have a crazy swinging tail?!" Yato informed me, pointing at my tail.

"Fuck!" I yelled.

"A wolf that includes a foul mouth. I just can't wait to find out what the visious vampire might be like!" He's so dead! Yato moved his eyebrows up and down. Was that supposed to be attractive? Well it wasn't (actually it was). IRRITATION!

The strangest feeling grew upon us. I couldn't stand it anymore, I grabbed a bowl pouring soup inside.

"Nothing for you?" Yato asked, seeming to know that bowl wasn't for me.

"You don't have any reason to worry about me." I told him starring at the door painted red, along with the other walls. This kitchen was lit by dim lighting. It was shivering cold. A wooden table in the center of the room. A jean like fabric table cloth rest over it. Matching chairs. The floor was old wood like stuff, I guess.

"A wolf being let loose. That's something to worry about." He half cocked his head.

"I wouldn't piss me off." I let him think that through, then made my way out.

I was once again in the dark dim lighted hallways of this mystery filled building I was brought to. It seemed like it could of been, or maybe once was a secret acadamey of some sort. My footsteps echoed loudly through the vibrant walls. It was somewhat a long walk back to our dorm, I'm assuming that's something to call it.

The sound of a lock clicked nearby. Stopping in front of two rooms, I sensed something. I figured if I focused on my hearing I could figure out whatever it was I was hearing. If that makes sense?

I focused..

I tried.......

I made it happen...........

I could hear.... I could hear whimpering from the door on my right. My hand was now on the knob. Opening, I saw a blonde haired girl by my feet. Hana.....?
