Train Ride

I quickly slid into the compartment and sat down next to my two best friends. A little bit about them, actually.

Pansy Parkinson is the greatest person you will ever meet. She is a bit strange and everyone thinks she's obsessed with my cousin, but she really isn't. She has a huge crush on Blaise Zabini, and only acts like she likes Draco, so that she can make Blaise jealous. It hasn't worked, so she's going to stop this year. Her parents are pretty nice, but they used to work for the Dark Lord, and most likely still do. She's half French and loves anything girly and honestly I love her to death. Pansy has light brown hair, which is a bob-cut, and hazel eyes.

My other best friend is Theodore Nott, or Theo as we call him. He's a bit weird, but we all get used to it. He has dark brown hair, and chocolate brown eyes, so in other girls definitions, he's hot. He doesn't like anyone right now, but I'm positive that he has a crush on someone whose in a different house, and is forbidden to like. Kind of like Draco and Granger.

"Hey guys!" I said cheerfully, interrupting the whispered conversation they we're having, and also scaring them half to death.

Theo screamed like a little girl, while Pansy yelped and jumped back, much to my amusement. I started howling with laughter.

"Andromeda!" Pansy shrieked, but jumped up and hugged me. I was still laughing when she pulled away.

"Hey Pansy! Hugs Theo?" I asked still grinning.

He grumbled but pulled me into a one arm hug. "You scared me half to death Black." He replied, and my grin grew even wider.

"That was kinda the point." I replied with a small laugh. "Did I miss anything important?"

"Well, except the fact that the food trolley came by."

"What?! You better have gotten me something." I accused her, and she grinned.

"Don't worry, I got you all your favorites."

"Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Botts Flavor Beans, Pumpkin Pasties and Jelly Slugs." Theo chimed  in.

I plopped down next to Pansy, and Theo sat back down across from us. "So, whose the prefects for the other houses?" Pansy demanded. "I want to know everything."

"Well, for Ravenclaw there's Patil and Goldstein," I began.

"Oh her? She's only starting to get popular because some of the boys think she's hot." Pansy said with a snort.

"And because she went with Weasel to the Yule Ball last year." Theo added. "She's friends with him, and so that makes her close to Potter. But now, she's going way down the popularity list."

It wasn't uncommon for us to gossip about people's popularity. Some people that were popular just didn't make sense, and with all the mess Potter caused, perhaps we could rise our selfs up to the top. We weren't the nerds of the school or anything, but we weren't as popular as Potter or Weasel either. We really just wanted to win the teachers favor so we would not get into much trouble when we pulled pranks, or when we didn't turn in homework or something, but with OWLs coming up, I doubt we'd be able to do something about not turning homework.

"And Goldstein! Why did Dumbledore pick Goldstein?"

"He's smart? I think?" Theo replied with a smile.

"Macmillan and Abbott from Hufflepuff." I paused waiting for the comments coming.

"Draco and I from Slytherin." I added, and both smiled.

"Nice!" Pansy said. "You got your cousin! You guys will solve all of life's problems when doing patrol."

I smirked, not letting her know about the change yet. "And Granger and Weasley from Gryffindor."

Theo choked on his pumpkin pastie, while Pansy spat out the water she was drinking. She thumped Theo on the back before speaking. "They chose Mudblood and Weasel for the job?" She shrieked. "That's insane, why didn't they pick Potter?"

"They picked Weasley?" Theo demanded. "I thought for sure they would pick Potter. I mean it makes sense why they would pick Granger, but Weasel? That doesn't even make sense!"

I shrugged my shoulders. "Don't ask me, I'm asking all the same questions. Why would they pick Weasley? Oh, but wait it gets worse."

Both groaned. "What now, I know that Mitters from Hufflepuff and Anderson from Gryffindor are the Head Boy and Head Girl, but what could be worse than that?"

"They aren't doing house partners this year." I said quietly.

"What?" Pansy said. "I didn't hear you."

Theo's face showed his usual, "your screwed" expression. He had heard me.

"They aren't doing house partners this year." I said a bit louder. Pansy opened her mouth furiously, but before she could speak, I continued. "They partnered you with a different patrol partner, and even worse, I got paired with Weasley."

Pansy and Theo were quiet for a moment, before Pansy opened her mouth to give the world a piece of her mind.

Theo and I were used to this, so Theo pulled out his wand and cast Silencio around the compartment.

"WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT, AND OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE THEY PARTNERED YOU WITH WEASLEY!! THAT STUPID BLOOD TRAITOR SON OF A-"

I quickly cast Silencio over Pansy before she could continue. She glared at me, and crossed her arms and sat down. We waited for about five minutes before releasing both spells.

"I was going to say biscuit." She whined back at me.

Theo started cracking up. "Son of a Biscuit? That's a new one."

She rolled her eyes. "I accidentally swore in front of my parents and they put a charm on me, so now I can't swear. Pick it up, will you. I can't be like this!"

I started laughing, all conversations of having Weasley as a patrol partner forgotten. For the rest of the train ride we came up with replaceable words for swear words.

"I say fudge."

"I vote on fudgie."

"That is the weirdest thing ever Theo."

"Fudgie is very appropriate! It's better than fudge!"

"Fudgie sounds like a dogs name Theo."

"A very cute dog then Pansy."

"Pansy's right Theo, fudgie is just plain weird."

"Well I'm going to use it."

"We'll use fudge then."

"Until fudgie grows on you."

"Theo!"

Unfortunately for Pansy and I, Theo was right. The words that he came up with we're growing on us a lot more than the words Pansy and I came up with.

"Guys we should probably put on our robes." Pansy sang as she leaned over and checked Theo's watch.

I nodded in agreement and I pulled down my trunk, and pulled out my robes. "Coming Pansy?" I asked, planning on heading to the bathrooms.

"You go ahead." She replied, still digging around in her trunk. She always put her robes on the very bottom, which was a pain in the ale to get out. Oh great, Theo's words were growing on me.

I stepped out of the compartment and headed towards the bathrooms. I got in and quickly changed out of my regular clothes.

I stepped out of the stall, and began brushing my hair in the mirror. The brown brush went smoothly through the silky black hair, and went through the slight curls. Pansy would describe them as a muggle princesses. I would describe them as a gift from heck.

The other stall door opened, and I glanced over to see Granger stepping out, wearing her robes and also began brushing her bushy brown hair. We didn't speak, or even pick a fight.

She stayed facing the mirror, and didn't speak, until the words came out in barely a whisper. "Sirius misses you."

"I know." I replied. "I miss him to."

Granger then placed her brush in her bag and exited the bathroom. I should probably explain the situation.

Granger was somehow in contact with Sirius Black, and always gave me updates on him. Nobody knew about the updates except me, Sirius and herself. Sirius is my Uncle on my Dad's side and raised me after my father died. When he was placed in Azkaban, I was given to the Malfoy's. When he escaped, he got in contact in me, but now it was to dangerous to send letters, as the Malfoy's almost figured out once. In a plead of help, I turned to Granger.

I remembered last year, sobbing in the bathroom and Granger comforting me and me telling her about my Uncle, my godfather, the murder Sirius Black. At the time, I had no idea what I was thinking. Probably that I had a death wish, and she was going to run a tell everyone that I was trying to get in contact with him.

Instead, she told me that Potter was also his Godson, and Potter had been writing to him, and Granger was sure she could write him a letter about me. We never spoke of that day, and agreed not to tell anyone, especially not our friends. Now, when we see each other in the bathroom or something, she gives me updates on how he is doing.

Apparently Sirius was at Hogwarts the night that Cedric Diggory died. I didn't get to see him and I was pissed at Granger for that, but she told me a lot about him, so I had to forgive her. Well, as much as enemies forgive each other.

The bathroom door opened and Pansy stepped in. "Hey, you ready?" She asked. I saw that she had already changed. She must've used the other bathroom.

"I kicked Theo out." She explained, and I grinned. We stopped at the boys bathroom and waited for Theo to come out. The three of us made our way back into the compartment, and threw all of our extra candy in the trunks.

We waited for the train to pull up into the station, ready to take on Hogwarts like a storm.
