Chapter 13: The Rise of Kael 🖤💛❄️

A Spanish beat for salsa dancing with a mix of a Christmas tune plays as everyone vibes to the beat to celebrate this grand, happy and joyous occasion.

Meanwhile....Kael suits up. He wears his his red long fingerless gloves on both hands, a long red cloak with a Christmas tree brooch, black leather boots, a red coat and fitted pants. He walked over to the mirror - his face stern. He put the hood of the cloak over his head....he was boiling with anger at this point.

He glanced down at the transparent necklace around his neck. Then he remembered that he read that he had powers. So, he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. He grasped the necklace tightly as he focused deeply- trying to find some sensation or something that would make his powers spark....but nothing happened.

He exhaled deeply and tried not to be consumed by frustration. He looked at himself In the mirror again. He knew it was time. He also knew he couldn't just waltz out of here.. especially since he couldn't activate his powers. So..he sneaked into the toy making lab...and made for himself a dangerous flame thrower that had a candy cane design.

His heart pounded as he felt the flame thrower..was he really about to do this. Kael smirked dubiously at the flame thrower... something had changed within him. A new side had emerged...his wicked side...a side he never thought he had.

As the smirk deepend, he walked out of the large lab. He turned back and had a thought. He smiled at the idea that had just popped. He aimed the flame thrower at the building. At the pulling of the trigger, fire spew from the flame thrower and consumed the entire lab inside and out...it was a one of a kind flamethrower.

He smiled at the chaos. For some reason, it brought him great joy as the building melted under the fire. For years he's dreamed of working there...now... he's destroying...

🖤💛❄️

The beat is loud, everyone is dancing their hearts out. Although, Layla was dancing her heart out a little bit aggressively...and vulgarly.

“ Is she on crack?,” Edward asked as he, Santa, Mrs Claus and the ice queen watched with shocked faces as she danced so aggressively.

“ I think it's something stronger,” she shaked her head.

“ And up and down, and up and down!,” Layla said to herself as she danced.

Then a loud book rang throughout the vicinity. Fearful and shocked gasps escaped the mouths of everyone on the ceremony ground as they figeted at the sudden explosion.

“ Oh my word,” Mrs. Claus gasped.

Santa watched in horror as the building collapsed down in flames. Without hesitation, Santa ran towards the building...Edward followed suite...then Mrs Claus, Layla, and the ice queen and some reindeer bodyguards and some elves joined.

As they neared, they saw a figure in a distance. Santa squinted his eyes to die down the light and heat he felt from the fire. The figure got closer and closer...he was clearly unbothered by the heat of the flames.

“ Who is that?,” Santa asked.

The figure was now a small distance away from them. He stopped, the flamethrower dangled in his hand. With his other hand, he uncovered his face.

They all gasped.

“ Kael?,” Layla said. She brushed through the crowd and was at front. “ Why didn't you come for my ceremony?,” She asked as she approached him.

“ For your own safety I advice you stay where you are,” he warned sternly.

Layla stopped and examined him. She knew when he was serious and when he was joking.

“ But to answer your question...why don't you ask the fat man,” Kael said.

Layla looked at Santa.

“ Did you do this?,” Santa asked with aggression in his tone.

“ I've not even started and you're already angry,” Kael said, a wicked smile creeping. “ I pity your blood pressure,” Kael shaked his head.

“ Kael,” Layla called softly. “ You burnt down a building on my coronation night?.... without informing me! What happened to us being best friends? I would have helped you with this little mischievous act”

Layla's mum covered her face the embarrassment.

“ And flamethrowers are for beginners,” she laughed.

Kael smiled and tilted his head. “ I have nothing against you Layla,” he said. “ It's the big, fat, hypocrite I'm after,” Kael said, tears forming in his eyes.

“ Watch your mouth!,” Edward roared with a pointed finger.

“mmmmm,” Kael smiled. “ I think that advice should be for you"

Edward: did he just?

Santa then noticed the book and the necklace with him.

“ Shoot!,” he cursed under his breath.

“ Child, if you don't want to meet the same fate as your parents.... surrender yourself,” Santa warned.

Surrender? Myself?” Kael’s voice boomed, trembling with raw fury. The ground beneath their feet began to quake as his anger surged, sending cracks spidering through the snow. His necklace glowed faintly, pulsing like a heartbeat. “You took away my parents! You stole the happy life I was meant to have!”

Santa’s eyes hardened. “You and your family don’t deserve happiness!” he roared.

Kael’s fists clenched, and the earth beneath them groaned in protest. Brown vines shot out of the frozen ground, twisting like angry serpents. They coiled around the the ceremony building, squeezing tighter as though drawn to Kael’s anguish. The people screamed in fear as vines pierced through the buildings walls.

“You took away my father’s birthright!” Kael shouted.

The vines lashed outward, reaching for the homes of the North Pole citizens. Windows shattered as the tendrils slithered through, displacing the holiday glow with creeping shadows.

“It was never his!” Santa barked, but there was a flicker of fear in his voice.

“You imprisoned my mother!” Kael’s voice cracked as the vines snapped toward the ice castle in the distance, their thorns scraping against its shimmering walls.

“That was justification!”

The vines kept spreading, relentless and wild, as though feeding off Kael’s pain.

“You treated me like a rag! You cast me aside like I was nothing!” Kael’s voice rose, his anguish cutting through the howling wind.

“It was for the better!”

Kael stopped, his chest heaving as the words finally pierced him. “You saw me as a monster. You all did.” His voice broke, and for a moment, there was only silence.

Santa’s face twisted into a scowl. “Because that is what you are!”

Kael froze, the words slicing deeper than any weapon. Tears rolled silently down his cheeks, shimmering like frost before they hit the ground.

“I can’t believe I dedicated my entire life... to making you see me,” Kael whispered, his voice trembling. The vines around him slowed their relentless advance, but the sky began to darken, clouds swirling above in a chaotic dance. Thunder growled low in the distance.

The ground quaked harder, the earth itself seeming to share in Kael’s grief and rage. “I gave everything to prove I was more than what you saw, but it was never enough!” His voice cracked, raw and broken.

Santa’s expression softened—just for a moment. “I’m sorry you have to face this fate,” he said, but his tone carried no regret, only grim finality.

Kael lifted his tear-streaked face, the faint glow of his necklace intensifying. “ You're going to regret every. Single. Word!," Kael threatened.

Santa gritted his teeth. “ Cease him!,” he ordered.

The reindeer body guard dashed for Kael. Their grip around their spears was tight. Their muscles tensed and their teeth clenched.

Out of fear and anger, Kael yelled: “ Stay away from me!,” The glow of the necklace intensified greatly. He waved his hand unconsciously...and unconsciously activated his powers... The snow covered ground split as brown vines sprouted up with a lashing sound. They're were thick and looked dry...and they were alive. They hissed as they snapped at everyone.

“ What the.....?,” Layla stared at the vines as they snarled and snapped.

Kael's heart pounded in his chest. He clutched the book to his chest as he looked in shock at what he had just done. Through the chaos, Layla and Kael shared a look. Layla saw the fear in his ears....while he understood her concerned look. He gave an understanding look which she understood. He snapped himself back to reality and ran away.

“ Kael?,” Layla called quietly as she watched him run.
