This plot idea stemmed for my love for Deiudora 🥹 despite it being basically dead for about two seasons. I really find Patch and Diego's relationship more endearing than the other one he had, and I love the idea of dad Diego so here it goes!! There's not much going on yet but the fic's premise is promising, even I got giddy when I came up with this.

SUMMARY:

Time is tricky. Its constraints and limitations are still beyond understanding by most. No one is truly sure of its true capabilities and how much it wraps the universe in its unforgiving grip.

For Valeria Patch, time has always been on her side. It feels like the one thing in this world that hasn't turned against her. As far as she can remember her whole life has been laid out in a perfect timeline with the help of her mother. In hopes it will spare the child from the possible extremities of the future. Eudora had seen enough filth and dirt on the streets to be fiercely concerned for Valeria's life ahead. She knew she couldn't always be there so she did what any mother in her situation would, prepare for what's to come as long as she's there.

The first thirteen years went by smoothly and as planned, in such a tender age Valeria felt like she's ready for whatever the world will throw at them. But when the moon starts crashing against the Earth's surface and the place she once called home has been reduced to ashes, nothing could have prepared her for that.

In the end time betrayed Valeria.
But instead of the apocalypse killing her, it awakened something in her. A rift on the space and time continuum, reality itself shifting right on the palm of her hands. In the last moments of Valeria's life cut short, unearthly star portals burst open before her as if it's meant to be a safe passage. Only it triggered multiple apocalyptic timelines connecting at a specific point in space and time. Creating what's called an Absolute Flow, an event on the multiversal realm that requires the complete termination of any affected timeline.

The Temps Commission set out an order to let the "ruined" timelines die out until they can reverse the destructive effects of the Absolute Flow and prevent more destruction of realities. The child was then captured for containment in an indefinite amount of time. But Five Hargreeves travels back in time to stop the Apocalypse, and Valeria's fate is rewritten. Instead of being taken by the Commission, she escapes with the rest of the Umbrellas.

Time is a complicated concept and so is Valeria Patch.

QUICK BACKGROUND !

- Valeria is the daughter of Detective Eudora Patch and Diego Hargreeves, she was hidden from her father due to the eccentric nature of his family and the dangers his vigilante lifestyle poses.
- The girl was born only a few months after her parents separation. Similar to her father, she was born with extraordinary abilities. She has access to the "void" which enables her to open portals to apocalypses. Her abilities are cosmic based, granting her sub powers to use in combat and fighting.
- The extent of her powers were first tested when the main timeline ended and Valeria was able to escape via one of her portals, she ended up in the 1970s with The Umbrella Academy team. Only then Diego learned the existence of his daughter.

OTHER DETAILS !

since I know it in myself I wouldn't be actually writing it anytime soon (similar to most of the drafts I have and will be adding here) let me drop some of the details and plans I have for the storyline that I really like. Spoilers about the future of Val and plot twist are present haha

- Okay okay so I know the premise of her story might be vvv confusing and trust me even I'm a bit confused too. Basically the true nature of Val's abilities is still unclear but it was triggered by the OG Apocalypse, she was able to open a portal out of distress and fear. But opening it led to disruption of the natural order of space time continuum, causing more realities to be affected and destroyed. The Commission tried to stop the creation of the Absolute Flow but since the OG Apocalypse was always meant to happen, Valeria's abilities will always come out when it happens. There's a complicated paradox that is going on with Val that they still haven't fully figured out. She's considered a Class-A multiversal anomaly to them and they cannot fully terminate her until they know what she really is. The best they can do is contain and stop her from further using her abilities.
- In the OG Apocalypse, when Five was not there, Val was taken in by the Commission and was put in a highly secured prison where she's in a cryosleep.
- When Five was there during the Apocalypse, Val opens a portal on the same timeline the Umbrellas went to. She lands on the same alley as they did and ends up getting taken in by Elliott, that's where Five finds her and he was the first one to know about her existence. She later meets her father and the rest of the academy. Throughout S2 she was pursued by the Commission given she's supposed to be imprisoned.
- Five trains her to properly control her abilities, the two of them bond over the similarities of their powers. Kinda funny they are the kids of team when Five is literally her uncle and an old man.
