okay so obviously most of us are back on the ASOIAF mindhive after the release of HOTD. and of course it's inevitable for me to start having ideas for a fic, so far I only have original characters and prospect back stories but no actual plot yet (because tho I've read most of DOD, the TV series modified a lot of main points and subplots so I have to wait for the whole S1 to finish before I can start plotting properly)

Here are my characters and their brief background so far, please let me know what you think about them! 

■ Viserya Targaryen / the Sea Witch

▹ Daughter of Naerys Targaryen and the pirate sorcerer Jing of Yi Ti. Born 93 AC on the Jade Sea during one of Sea Snake conquests. A legitimized bastard under King Viserys reign. At the age of nine she claimed a pale grey dragon. It is rumored she is able to practice blood magic due to her paternal heritage.

■ Daenys Targaryen / Dragon of Casterly Rock

▹ Declared daughter of Viserys Targaryen and his great love Cierra Lannister. Born 89 AC after her mother died giving birth to her. Most suspected she's no Targaryen and only a political move by the Lannisters, the rumors were further strengthened when she wasn't able to claim any dragon until adulthood. At the age of sixteen Daenys swore fealty on Viserys' Kingsguard, making her the first female knight and kingsguard on the realm.

■ Naerys Targaryen / Dragonsailor 

▹ Daughter of Prince Aemon Targaryen and his first wife Daella Velaryon, the two were married in a young age due to the conception of Naerys. When Daella passed away two years after her daughter's birth and Aemon remarried, the Velaryons took Naerys back to Driftmark. She grew more fond of the sea than the sky, boarding the ship Summer Maid with her cousin at the age of fifteen. After her father's death she claimed Caraxes as her own for more than a decade, until her sailing crew deemed it too inconvenient to bring her dragon on quests. She then gave up Caraxes on Daemon Targaryen's care.

■ Aenar Velaryon / Lord of Driftmark

▹ Second son of Corwyn Velaryon, he and his brother Corlys share a deep bond over being a sailor and traveller. Aenar is a known collector of relics and artifacts found on their quests, being naturally curious about the world beyond Westeros. He would then become the most prolific historian in his time due to his access to different cultures, countries and groups while sailing. A repository hall on Driftmark was made for his collection and records of history from the lands they've been into.

■ Aurane Baratheon / Stag Princess

▹ Daughter of Boremund Baratheon and his first wife Daena Targaryen. She was once considered to be a throne claimant after Baelon's untimely death, considering Daena is next in line to her brother Baelon. A fierce warrior both in combat and weaponry and a wise strategist, some saw her as a heir material but due to her gender and seemingly far from the line, Aurane's name never made it to council's voting. She inherited her mother's dragon Dreamfyre and rode it to fight Dorne rebellions from time to time.

■ Maekor Velaryon / Saltknight 

▹ First son of Aurane Baratheon and Aenar Velaryon. A complete contrast of both his parents, he was average at best but he wasn't fond of fighting nor did he has the curiosity of an adventurer. Instead he is a keen observant, taking interest in social and political matters happening around him. He dreams to be part of the Great Council one day under Rhaenrya's rule, believing the princess fits the most to be the heir.

■ Vaela Velaryon / Delight's Daughter

▹ The only daughter of Rhaenrya Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon, rumored to be the only legitimate heir among the children of the two. It said that it might be an attempt to hold off the brewing rumors of her parents' infidelity. Vaela favors the features of a Velaryon-Targaryen mix more than her brothers.

*I'm following the plot of the series instead of the book but I might modify some details drawn from the original source.

*From my understanding Boremund was in the show briefly but as Rhaenys cousin (?) yeah that will have to go, he's Rhaenys uncle and Aurane is her cousin.

*So I tried to best to avoid intermarrying incest on the family tree of my OCs but oh boy you could only go so far to erase it, incest really goes wayyy deep on almost every main character of HOTD. Even the Velaryons have a bunch of Targaryen blood tracing back to Aenys I and Alyssa. But the spouses of my OCs are far down the line already so no full blown cestie on them.
