Ransom (xBlack Jack)

+Author's Note

Ya'll need to read Black Jack..!!

Tears rolling down your cheeks, murderous glances and snickers from gangsters, the piercing fear that held your breath; that fear that choked you into hysteria.

This was the price of your love.

The warehouse was dark despite the sun shining through it's cracks and bullet holes. It smelled of rusted iron and splattered blood, the ground littered with broken slabs of stone and rubble.

The men were getting restless. Tightening their grips on crowbars and bats, slowly shifting their weight from feet to feet.

Was he coming?

Many of the men exchanged glances or small grunts, eyeing you from the corner of their eyes.

Growing impatient, they slowly advanced you.

"The doc's gotta come right? Aren't ya two datin'?"

Closing your eyes shut, tears ran down your face. The gangsters laughed as one lifted your face with a crowbar, rusted with blood.

"He better come with the money. But don't you worry, we know plenty of places that would be happy to buy you.."

Just then, a large bang announced the arrival of the doctor.

Looking up, you saw the stiched up marvel you called your lover. His black and white hair swiftly swaying with the black over coat he wore over his shoulders; both his hands occupied with hard black leather breif cases.

Black Jack slowly strolled forwards as he always would, just as casually as if he was on a walk through the park.

His face was hidden behind the unmanaged mangle of hair, his dark eyes shining through the curtain of white like a beast in the dark.

You wanted to smile, even laugh at the situation. He came for you! Tears of joy rolled down your cheeks, a smile forming under the cloth tied around your mouth.

The men tensed, resuming their positions, and the leader stepped out; a grin plastered on his face.

"Ah, so here comes the fabled doctor, I guess she was worth 10 million dollars!"

The men laughed collectively, making Black Jack narrow his eyes. But nonetheless, he handed them the suitcases.

The leader laughed and ordered a henchman to collect the suitcases, and the gangsters' faces grinned wildly.

The leader smiled and sat right before you on an armchair, a cocky smile painted on his face.

"Excuse us doc, but we need to check if you've brought the right amount of money before we... continue our negotiation"

The men laughed together and the henchman started counting the money.

"Well let's see.. ooooh rich aren't we? Thousand.. ten thousand.."

Smiles were widened with each time the numbers increased, the men licked their lips in anticipation for their sweet reward.

The henchman continued counting.

"50... 100 thousand.. 1 million..."

The henchman froze, he went through the suitcase, and Black Jack watched quiely.

The henchman's smile faltered.

"10 million.. 20 million... I...what..??"

The gangsters suddenly lost their smiles, and the leader frowned.

The henchman lost words to say, and he opened the second suitcase.

"Boss... boss this.. no.. he..."

The entire warehouse fell silent, and you watched with baited breath. Was something wrong?

The henchman back up and fell as he tried to get up.

"Boss.. he.. he brought 10 billion dollars...!!"

Everyone froze.

The leader looked up, to see Black Jack chuckling darkly.

"But isn't that much, much more than you wanted?"

Everyone fell silent, slowly backing up.  They sensed an unknown tension gaining upon them. Black Jack merely grinned.

Walking up to the leader, he gave a sneer.

"What's wrong? Too little?"

The leader backed up, trying to avoid Black Jack's piercing gaze. They all sensed him, his blood lust, and his insanity.

You watched with wide eyes.

Black Jack whipped out a fistfull of checks and threw it at the leader's face.

His eyes narrowed dangerously, Black Jack muttered a single command.

"Read it"

The leader didn't need telling twice. He read the checks, his mouth dropping as he did.

"50 billion dollars?!"

Black Jack gave a twisted grin, and he leaned in towards the leader.

"Why, if for (Y/n), I wouldn't mind paying 10 trillion dollars.."

Slowly getting up, he cut through your ropes and untied the cloth around your face.

No one lifted a finger when Black Jack lifted you bridal style and started walking out.

You clampsed your arms around his neck, and Black Jack smiled softly, but soon turned his face around, fury masking his features.

"Did you really think (Y/n) could be measured in money?"

The men shook at the frightening atmosphete. Some even tried to run.

Black Jack gave a bark of laughter as he walked out of the warehouse.

"I've given you the money for her safety, but as for putting a price tag on her life.."

Black Jack grinned.

"You'll have to pay for that"

And just as he kicked the door shut, the warehouse started shaking.

The men exchanged frantic glances when they noticed the whole building started shaking, and the iron pillars groaned.

"RUNNN!!!"

The men tried to run, but a sudden explosion had the high concrete ceiling collaspe on them, and shards of glass, concrete and iron hailed over them; and took each and every one of their lives.
