Rosetta Nubin also known as Sister Rosetta Tharpe was known as a prodigy or what others liked to call her back in her younger days, "a singing and guitar-playing miracle". She used to perform with her mother in a traveling evangelical troupe. Her first husband was a preacher, so she used his name and began her recording career in 1938. With the given name "Godmother of Rock 'n' Roll", she went on to inspire Elvis Presley, Little Richard and more of music's first great artists. She entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 as an early influence.
