Louis Armstrong was known to be the one who revolutionized jazz with his 'Hot Fives and Sevens' sessions that he recorded between 1925 and 1930. The New Orleans native soon went solo after exceeding his time in a dance band with Fletcher Henderson, who was an American pianist, bandleader, arranger and composer. Louis Armstrong's music was where jazz began its transformation from the early 20th century ragtime to the style of jazz music we recognize today.
*Note: Ragtime is a musical style that was popular between 1895 and 1919. It is known for its syncopated or "ragged" rhythm.
