New Orleans R&B greatest, Fats Domino inspires Jamaican R&B known as ska with his 1959 single, "Be My Guest".  Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. When he appeared in Montego Bay for the Jamaica Music Festival in early 1961, he was treated like royalty because Jamaicans had been listening to big-signal radio broadcasts in the Cresent City and in Miami during that time and enjoyed his music.
