Untitled Part 12
Professor Rowell puts her sword away as she notices Blow. She walks towards
still in her awakened mode.
"...Who are you?" Professor Rowell asks.
"The Black...Magician?" Professor Khan spoke. "The Black magician! You mean Opion's..."
"Yes." Blow finishes.
"I can't believe it. To think the famous Black Magician really was such a young man. But...What business do you have here?" Professor Khan asks.
"Well... I received a secret private mission and when I came to Ishuella, I happened to meet your students. From what I understand, you're in quite the predicament, so I thought I'd help..." Blow pauses, thinks for a moment, then resumes. "...Would that be okay?"
"Of...Of course!" Professor Khan erupted. "In fact, we should be begging for your assistance. But to be offered...Thank you very much!" Around then, the black figure appeared behind professor Khan who piggybacked Yuti.
"Behind you!" Blow warned.
Professor Rowell took out her sword in a ready stanza.
"That's... What is it?" Blow pointed at the figure, pretending to be unaware it.
Professor Baise walks towards a crowd of students. He had used magic to sense their location, after haven found Dio and Chevel stranded. The Iduns were relieved to see him. Some asked if they were safe and others asked where they were. Professor Baise explained everything to them.
Iel walks up to Dio who went to every idun for any information on Rood. "If it's Rood Chrishi...Wasn't he with you right before we got here?"
"Yeah. But the water got us separately. So I have no idea where he is...Artian hasn't said anything for a while. And...The professor is a bit strange." Dio was interrupted by an announcement from professor Baise.
"Alright! Since it looks like more or less everyone that's needed, we'll stop searching for the others." Professor Baise announced. There was a mixture of confusion and frustration from the crowd of Iduns. Mostly because there were still a lot of kids missing.
"Bu-But, Lin and Rood aren't here." Dio spoke up.
"Who cares? Since they haven't turned up yet, they're all probably dead." Professor Baise grins. He held up the magic trail he used to discover the students. "Ah, but...You guys are rather lucky." The trail went wild, expanding above the students. The encircled area where the students stood, rose above, towering the rest of the earth. The students now stood high above, with a restriction spell surrounding them. "You'll stay alive...Until the end.
"Black Magician! It's Him! He's the one who sent us here!" Professor Khan reports.
"...Is that so?" Blow asks. He was a little skeptical as to why the figure came to them instead of chasing down Lidusis. Just then, the earth shook, and Blow could spot the restriction spell and the raised earth from afar.
"W-What? What is that thing?" Professor Khan asks.
Blow finally understood why the black figure had appeared before them. It was to prevent them from interfering. Blow gripped his mana made strife. "Better hurry" Blow uttered.
"You lot...Will die here." The figure reported. The earth rumbled, and minutes later, it produced an artificial that was painted brown like the earth. It stood towering over Blow and the rest.
"I'm going to die?" Blow grinned "Oh, spare me." He'd arrived the conclusion that Lidusis was at the area he just saw the tower. Blow leaped on the demon's shoulder and turned to the rest below. "Professors! I'll leave this place to you!" Blow waved his hand.
"As if I'd let you." The figure spoke, coming at Blow from behind. Professor Rowell gave slashed, blocking the attack.
"Go." Professor Rowell told Blow. "You, on the other hand, aren't going anywhere." Professor Rowell went at the figure.
Blow watched Professor Rowell and left.
"What are you..." Chevel started. "It...It was you professor? The one behind all this..."
"That's right." Professor Rowell answered.
"Why...Would you do such a..." Dio said.
"Well, we all have our circumstances, Mr. Varus." Professor Baise snaps his fingures. "Now. Everyone. You might be confused, but this is a good opportunity." Professor Baise stretches his arms out. "The practical training at the tower was canceled, but...Rather than a boring practice, Isn't real life experience more valuable?"
"Real life experience?" Dio uttered.
"Before we begin, I should tell you something in order for you to try your hardest." Professor Baise reached his hand towards Dio. From his hand emitted yellow tendrils as it shot towards Dio and grabbed his neck, pulling him off the ground.
"Dio!" Iel called. Alongside her, Lidusis watched.
"As by my standards, Mr. Dio Varus here, qualifies as a useless human without the right to live." Dio floated to the edge of the cliff. "Now. What should I do?"
"What do you think you're doing?!" Chevel called.
Dio glanced down and gasped. "He...Help me!"
"Damn it! Let him go!" Chevel yelled.
"Okay, Mr. Hadelio." The tendrils around Dio's neck disappeared, leaving Dio to fall over.
Chevel gasped and rushed over, but professor kept him in place with a magic barrier around him. Professor Baise then looks over the cliff. "Can't even see him. I pray that in the afterlife, you will become a more useful person, Mr. Varus."
Lidusis collapsed to the ground, speechless.
Professor Khan avoids a swing from the demon and lands on a safe location. "Princess. Don't let go of me!" He then turns back to Cynthia, Lapis, and Lain. "Hereis! This is an emergency; Prepare for battle!"
Cynthia took out her staff and holds it in a ready position. "Understood, Professor."
"Lai-" Lapis called to Lain who sat on the floor depressed. "Hey! What are you do-" A rock had found its way to the three. It fell, barely missing Lapis.
Cynthia held her staff with both her hands and began chanting. "Yuni. Mello. Miyaen." The staff began glowing a bright yellow, with sparks flying. It emitted a powerful blast that shattered a hand off the rock made monster. Cynthia drops her hands slowly, shocked.
"Wha...What was that? That mana?" Professor Khan asks.
"Black mana." Cynthia uttered.
"Don't tell me...The mana the Black Magician gave us is..." Lapis began.
Lain looked at his ring with hopeful eyes.
"Lain." Lapis called.
Lain had found his way behind a rock and stood there, shielding himself. "Good luck!" Lain called from afar.
"Hey! Lain!" Lapis called.
"Ah. Can't hear you!" Lain called.
"Mr. Grium?" Professor Khan called.
"...I apologize, professor. But I won't be able to use magic at all...So you can treat me exactly like the useless hindrance over there." Lain said back.
Lapis reddened. "You...Did you really just say that in front of my face?" Lapis stormed towards Lain and smacked him from above. "What are you saying at a time like this? Idiot!"
"...But, I can't! I can't use it! I'm going to keep it and take it to my grave!" Lain called.
"Idiot!" Lapis yelled trying to haul Lain away.
"Please...This isn't the time for-" Professor Khan was cut short by an attack from the demon. He quickly put up a barrier, avoiding the attack. "Stop fooling around and pay attention! This is the real thing!"
Just then, an attack came at Lapis, who was unaware.
"Lapis!" Lain called out and pulled Lapis down, barely missing the attack.
Lapis woke and sat. "Oi, Lain. You're still not going to use your mana? Even with this?"
"I won't!" Lain shot back.
"Do you want to die? You want to die with me? Here?" Lapis asked.
"No...I wan't to live..."
"How?!"
The Iduns stood in fear. No one knew if this was still all part of the test, or the professor really had turned against them. As much as Chevel wanted to do something, he knew he couldn't, not against a professor. But he had decided doing something is better than doing nothing. He wasn't ready, but grasped his necklace and pleaded everything would work out.
Professor Baise notices Chevel's plan and shakes is head solemnly."Mr. Hadelio. You would be wise to stop what you're doing."
Chevel grimaces, but sucks it up. "I-I won't let you get away with this." Chevel's necklace produces white flares as it glows a bright blue. He clutches it like it was the last thing he owned.
Professor Baise releases a grin. One that gave Chevel shudders. "Well then. Thank you, Mr. Hadelio."
Chevels necklace whizzes. It erupts more mana than Chevel could ever hold. It produces large amounts of flares, all while sucking in Chevel's mana. The necklace spun out of control, and Chevel couldn't do a thing about it.
"I will be borrowing your power for a while." Professor Baise reaches his hand out, almost as if getting in contact with Chevel. It'd seem that way because as soon as he does, Chevel completely froze totally engulfed by the necklace's blue mana. Chevel stood frozen, hand in place.
Lin hidded behind a tree. The black trees that sought out the entire area, all while being led by the crimson sky. Behind her, carmille, Lin's best friend, laid panicked, clutching Lin's arm. They'd both been stranded since their unfortunate encounter with the figure.
"Lin..." Carmille called. The color had been drained right out of her face, and she looked like she would pass out if any sudden movement was made. She was completely freaked out.
"Shh." Lin gestured with her lip. She turns away again, scouting her area, except, what she scouts this time was not what she had hoped to see. A low rank demon had found its way to Lin and Carmille. Lin shrieked but held her ground on her spot. "Ru...Run away!" Lin warns Carmille. But as freaked as Carmille was, seeing the demon was enough to knock her out. She fell to the ground, leaving Lin alone. Seeing her friend on the ground, Lin was desperate. She searched her environment for anything useful. Anything that was capable of inflicting pain. Lin finds a stick and picks it up with shaking hands. She points it towards the monster, and prayed it work. The demon took the stick as an invite and dashed towards Lin.Before it could get to Lin, an uninvited guest swept down from above and grabbed the demon before it reached its goal. Making sight of her savior, Lin saw a demon. It was the biggest she'd encountered, and the bluest she'd seen. It had blue fire like fur that illuminated on its back, right down to its tail. Its wings were as mighty as its body, bringing it down delicately. Lin dropped her mouth in awe. It gave Lin a look before it soared again into the sky, flapping away. Lin fell to her feet, making a loud thud. She couldn't even feel her feet anymore.
Blow arrived at the bottom of the cliff. Above, he could make out voices, but not words. He stood, arms crossed, wondering how he'd get to the top without much attention. HE decides to go with the simplest amount of mana he could release and begins to advance. Before he could get on the cliff, he was stopped short by a sudden appearance. It came out of nowhere, but appears in front of Blow like it was its objective. Fixing his eyes, Blow found it wasn't an it, but a he. He flew aloft Blow, up-side-down. He met face to face with Blow and offered a smile.
"Where do you think you're going," Elzeble asked Blow, his hands in his pocket. "Hmmm?" His different colored eyes glowed a bright red and yellow, showing his excitement.
Elzeble sat behind a tree, smiling at Blow.
"So...You're trying to get up there?" Elzeble pointed up, not exactly at the cliff. He smiled cheerily at Blow who just looked at him like some eerie being.
The fact that Blow wasn't able to sense Elzeble's presence bothered him. It wasn't until he had popped up in front of him that he'd noticed. "Who are you?" Blow asks. "Are you an ally of who is behind this?"
"That's a mean thing to say. Why would I be an ally of a traitor?" Elzeble speaks. "I see you're trying to save the humans up there? But I can't let you do that." Elzeble offers a sly grin. "I have to know what that traitor plans on doing with those humans." He pauses and scratches his cheek. "Well, from what I can tell, it looks like he's planning on killing them all. I wonder why. Simply...killing a couple of bugs won't amount to anything." Elzeble smiles again. "Right? Don't you agree-" Elzeble found his way to the cliff. Blow had grabbed him and thrown him like a piece of paper. Blow stood, towering over Elzeble, one leg to the cliff that cornered Elzeble. He pointed his mana made arrow at him.
"Now...If you don't want me to crush you like a bug, you better tell me the truth." Blow looked down at Elzeble who kept his grin. "Traitor...It implies that you used to be his ally.In which case, whatever it is you know, tell me. All of it."
