Chapter 7- New Roommate

After Sky had uttered Rood's magician name, he knew his identity was blown.

"...... So you are really Lotus huh... Is Sky Ackers your real name?"

Sky thought a while before shaking her head. "Nope. But... it's close to my real name. I'm sorry, but I can't tell you my real name just yet. It's not that I don't trust you. It's just... my identity is highly confidential. It's not wise for me to spill it out just yet."

Rood stared at her and started to wonder why her identity was so secretive but his thoughts were interrupted as Sky spoke out.

"So why are you in Helios, Rood? I presume your real name is Rood Chrishi since the Opion Master's surname is Chrishi too."

Sighing, Rood nodded. "Yes. it is. I am currently in Helios for a mission. So why are you in Helios too?" I can't hide anything from this guy huh...

"I am in Helios because I want to experience a normal school life... And have a few adventures while I'm at it." It was the truth, aside from the mission that was passed onto her by the Ruon King. As the imperial princess of Ruon, she had private lessons in the castle rather than the magic academy. She rarely had any friends in Ruon and even if she did, they were all stolen from her. It was only Lily who stood with her until now. Curious about Rood's mission from Opion, Sky asked.

"So what kind of mission did you take?? I promise I won't babble to anyone that you are the black magician and the details about your mission." Rood stared at her suspiciously and Sky gave him an innocent sparkling eyes look, to emphasize that she will not break her promise. Rood sighed as he gave in.

"Fine. My mission in Helios is to protect Lidusis Dien Artian. So far what I know ever since I got here, was that people regard him as a monster and an upperclassman, Chevel Phon Hadelio, seems to be the reason."

Sky nodded at his words, "I see... I also noticed about Lidusis' mistreatments recently. But no matter how I see it, he did not seem like a bad guy. I tried to help him when he was being bullied once but he ran away from me. I don't think that he wants help. It felt as if...... he was accepting their mistreatments willingly. But that doesn't mean that he should be mistreated that way."

Rood thought deeply as he took a few minutes to process the new information. "Thanks for your information. If what you said was right, then I will have to find a way to make Lidusis accept my help. But first, I need to get close to him."

Sky nodded as she thought of ways to help. After several minutes, an idea hit her as a confident smile formed on her face. "That, well...... I can help."

She leaned against Rood's ear and whispered her idea to her. Rood's eyes grew wide as his lips parted slightly. He agreed that her idea might work but it was a little... dramatic.

Several minutes passed by in silence until a loud commotion rang through the dormitory.

"GET OUT OF MY ROOM! I DON'T WANNA SHARE A ROOM WITH ANYONE! TAKE YOUR STUFFS WITH YOU!"

Sky kicked Rood out of the room and he jumped away as his bags were thrown out of the room. She winked at him before slamming the door at his face. Lady Aina heard the commotion and walked over to Rood. Seeing the bags on the ground, she was surprised as she had thought of Sky as a kind gentleman. "Oh dear...... I'm sorry, Mr. Chrishi. I didn't know Mr. Ackers was such a rude person. I would speak with him immediately."

Rood quickly shook his head, "It's fine. I don't think he likes me and I can't force him either. Are there any other rooms available?" Lady Aina shook her head. Since this was Sky's idea I might as well make the most of it. Let's not waste his efforts.

Giving the lady a shy smile, Rood asked, "There is a room right? I heard Lidusis Dien Artien didn't share a room with anyone. Maybe I can bunk with him? I do wish to make new friends quickly since I joined Helios late."

Initially, Lady Aina had rejected his request but he eventually managed to convince her and got a key to Lidusis' dorm room. Rood chuckled as he looked at his new room key. I really have to thank Sky for this, if it was not for his brilliant idea, I wouldn't be able to pull the victim card. Well...... Here goes nothing.

Rood unlocked the door and looked around. The room has two beds and he saw a pair of shoes at the side of one of the beds. There was someone under the blankets and he lifted the blanket slightly. He saw Lidusis, who was sleeping peacefully on his bed. Rood turned away and placed his bags down on the other bed.

Suddenly, he felt someone behind him. A hand lunged for his shoulder and he quickly turned around grabbing his unknown assailant. "Wha...What?!"

It was Lidusis and it seemed that Rood inadvertently woke him up. Rood let go and looked at him calmly. "Hello..."

Without saying a word, Lidusis stared at him before shuffling back to his bed. Rood became increasingly confused by his actions. What was that???

"Um, hey? Hello???" Rood tried to strike a conversation with Lidusis but he pulled his blanket over his head. Rood sighed and gave up as it was getting late. He had plenty of time to talk to Lidusis. Whether he likes it or not. After settling his stuff down, he laid on the bed and quickly fell asleep.

Meanwhile, in the garden behind Helios...

"Damn it... Why does he wanna meet me now?!" A mysterious man under a hooded cloak murmured as he waited under a tree. A few minutes later, a black figure appeared and the man glared at the figure

"This is too risky! You can't suddenly ask me to meet you out like this!" The black figure had no expression on its face. The man shuddered as it felt like death was looking at him. "Our deal. You have not fulfilled it." A deep voice lurked out of the figure.

The man nodded, trying to placate him. "I need more time. It isn't easy to avoid the eyes of the Association and the Tower. Our deal will be fulfilled soon, I promise."

Suddenly a ring of blue flames surrounded him and it bega scorching the man's skin. He closed his eyes tightly and prepared for the flames to engulf him. But the next second, his eyes opened as the flames were gone and so was the black figure. He sighed in relief as he had barely escaped death. I'd better be quick with my work or something worse would happen to me.
