Episode Nine (Finale)
Let's just imagine that a sacrifice's end is like that of HEAVENS'. By that I mean body fading away instead of getting buried and stuff.
There will be some triggering things like blood in this chapter.
"Beautiful...."
The moment you stepped in the garden, you felt as if you had entered another world. The garden had a mysterious atmosphere. It was so beautiful that it was scary. A sweet aroma floated around. The sight of this unknown beauty attacked you with overwhelming emotions.
"Does the garden look beautiful to you?" Eiji questioned. You nodded.
"....will you say the same when you see this sight?" Van mumbled and led the way deeper into the garden.
"...!"
Blue roses that you had never seen before bloomed in the garden. The strong scent of the roses intoxicated you. You stumbled a step back.
"These roses..."
"Strange, aren't they?" Yamato wryly voiced out. "They're red roses yet turn blue on this night."
"H-How..." You froze.
"That's..." Kira answered, "the secret....of the garden."
The secret of the night garden. You recalled everything Eiichi had revealed to you nights ago.
"These roses grant immortality to humans," Nagi quietly confessed.
"Immortality....." You shouldn't have been surprised yet you stood there with a bewildered look.
"It is the end for those who are fascinated by these roses. The curse of immortality is inflicted upon them...." Shion despaired.
It sounded impossible but the 'blue roses' that can't be a part of this world seemed to be the proof of it. Staring at the otherworldly beauty of the night garden, you muttered, "These pretty flowers cause that much suffering...?"
"They do.....more than you can imagine," Eiichi whispered.
"This is the reason why we protect people from the clutches of this garden. That is our role," Eiji stated.
Your hands trembled at the sight of the brunette's sad gaze. "....And you all have been suffering for centuries in their stead."
"It can't be helped, right?" Van spoke. "It's our punishment for pursuing eternal lives."
"As long as the garden is still here, we're trapped here forever," said Yamato.
Did it have the irresistible charm to change people's hearts? Was that why it drove people crazy with desire until they gave their lives and got trapped in the curse of the garden?
".....We must have been waiting for you... to end our curse," claimed Shion, silently.
"After all, no matter how many times we've tried, we failed." Nagi was dejected. ".....because we are a part of this garden."
"So please....end it and.... break our curse," requested Kira.
You bit your lips and dropped your gaze to the ground. The corners of your eyes stung and you felt a pang in your chest.
"...Alright. I will believe in your plan," you declared. "This is for the best."
They showed sad smiles. Eiji walked up to you and handed you the vial with shaky hands. After accepting it, you pulled Eiji into a hug.
"I'm so glad I met you," you told the surprised male.
"My lady...."
Letting go of him, you ran off to hug Shion. Then Yamato, Van, Nagi and Kira. You had whispered the same thing to all of them before parting with the saddest smile.
Finally, you were pulled into the strong and protective arms of your husband. There were no more tears left to cry. You both had already cried out your hearts. That's why you promised to part with smiles instead.
"Eiichi..." The two of you called each other. There wasn't any necessity for words. Your hearts and minds were already laid bare to one another.
".....This was just the wrong way for us to meet," Eiichi breathed. "Had we met under different circumstances..."
"There is no point pondering over this," you stopped him. "This was written in our destiny."
"Destiny,huh."
"Besides, if it were not for the sacrifice, I wouldn't have met you." You pulled away slightly to look at his purple eyes that you loved so much. "Meeting you and falling in love with you is the best thing that has happened to you and I don't regret it in the slightest."
"....I feel the same."
The rest of the six circled around you two. Once again, you looked at them and nodded, signalling it was time to start.
With the boys' help, you recited the verses necessary for performing the ritual. Gripping your hands close to your chest, the vial still in your hands, you shut your eyes and prayed with all your might. The others followed your lead.
"Please.... Please accept our sacrifice..." You wished harder. "Let us be reborn into a time when we can all be together! Let our paths cross once again! Let us reincarnate and lead us to each other again."
The blue moon above you glowed, granting power to the place. Maybe your sacrifice attempt was being granted.
Finally, you turned to the glasses-wearing brunette. Getting on your toes, you stole a chaste kiss from him, leaving him stunned. "This isn't goodbye, Eiichi. Rather, it is the beginning of our new journey."
Saying that, you opened the vial in hand. The poison in it entered your body. The seven watched you empty the bottle in horror. Once you chugged it all down, the object from your hands dropped on the soil before rolling away.
"Y-You...." Eiichi's anguished eyes were locked on you. But you had no time to be swayed now. You had to fulfill your role while the powers of the moon and the garden were at their climax.
Quickly, you turned to the one who was holding your candlestick while you drank the poison. Taking the burning candlestick, you took some steps away from them. You held one of the many roses without plucking it and placed the candlestick at the root of the rose. The flame burned in the blink of an eye.
The fire started spreading from one flower to another. You had successfully managed to do what they couldn't do; destroying the garden. As they had informed you earlier, being linked to the garden had disabled them to harm it. The relief was short lived though.
"Ukhh...!!"
The effects of the poison kicked in. With each cough came out splatters of blood that stained your black dress. A sudden dizziness and nausea hit you. Your breathing got disturbed and the strength got knocked out of your body.
Before you could hit the ground, strong arms caught you and frantic footsteps could be heard. There you laid on the arms of Eiichi, the rest surrounding you.
Eiichi yelled your name. You coughed more and more blood. Your hands were now tainted in your blood. When you saw the tears threatening to fall from Eiichi's eyes, you weakly opened your mouth.
". . . It's alright. . . . We shall . . . definitely. . meet again. . . . ."
Your vision slowly became hazy. Yet from the corner of your eyes, you caught glimpses of Nagi crying in Kira's arm, Shion doing the same in Yamato's and Eiji and Van barely holding back.
Managing the slightest hint of a smile, you called out. ". . . . Please. . . don't cry. . . . . . Everything. . . . . . . will be alright. .now."
As a sacrifice, you weren't supposed to die like any other human being. Rather, your body and soul were to be absorbed by the garden. That would explain your body gradually becoming dissipating and fading as light particles.
The garden started getting covered in flames. Through your dwindling consciousness, it sounded violent like the agony of the ones sacrificed in the garden.
"It.....It hurts.....!" Your faint cry of pain reached Eiichi's ears, despite the brutal uproar of the garden all around. You couldn't hold the thumping of your heart anymore. Neither could you feel your body anymore. You wanted to escape this indescribable pain.
For your gradually disappearing self, Eiichi summoned every ounce of strength and will power in his body to smile at you. Instead of tears, he wished to send you off with a smile.
"Don't worry....This pain will be over soon. We will surely meet in ecstasy..." Eiichi's quivering voice echoed in your head. Gently, he held you as close and lovingly as possible.
The shape of the world changed as if it were a dream. Everything got dyed into a beautiful blue. Blue as clear as the sky, you wondered if heaven would look like this place if it were to exist.
"E.... Eii.......chi..." Your eyes started to lose their light slowly. Now you could hardly make out the man's figure but you didn't doubt that you were in your husband's arms in your dying moments. "Thank. . . . you. ."
Your voice didn't want to come out any further as the numb sensation spread to almost all parts of your body. But you wanted to convey your feelings.
"......I...love.......you....E...ii...."
The body in Eiichi's arms completely disappeared and got absorbed by the burning garden. The man sat there, frozen in place. His bundle of warmth...... was gone. The sacrifice had been received.
"Nii-san!" Eiji's mournful tackle brought him back to reality. "We will all reincarnate for sure! S-So, till then.....let's stay strong, nii-san."
"Eiji..." The rest joined Eiji and hugged their leader. "You guys...."
Eiichi noticed their bodies becoming transparent as well. The entire garden was blazing now. Their end would come as soon as the garden was annihilated.
He hugged his family. The younger ones sobbed loudly while silent teardrops fell from the elders' eyes.
"....We will always be together." These were Eiichi's last words as he embraced his family close to him amidst the flaring garden.
Reincarnation.....he believed they all would reincarnate someday. Their plan, to perform the forbidden ritual in exchange of all of their lives, succeeded. All they could do was wait. No matter how long it would take, how many centuries it would take, he was willing to wait to be reunited with his love and family. From the core of his heart, he trusted eternal happiness and salvation would await them. The fire raged on.
How long had it been? How much time had passed? The sun had risen, terminating the end of the night of the blue moon. Light shone on the black burnt garden. The fire has died down on its own. There was no trace of the enormous garden as if it didn't exist to begin with. Everything was over.
Except for eight rose petals that laid on the mountain of ashes, withholding the memories of the eight souls who gave their lives in this garden.

"You may now kiss the bride."
At the priest's declaration, the charming brown-haired groom, clad in white tuxedo, lifted the white veil covering his bride's face.
Once he unveiled his bride's heavenly face, her lovely eyes met his deep purple orbs, overflowing with love. He whispered your name delicately, making your heart swell in love.
Yes, you were the bride. And the man in front of you, in other words, the groom and your soon-to-be husband was none other than.....
"Eiichi.." With a dazzling smile, you uttered his name.
Many, many years since your tragic partitions, fate brought you two once again, bestowing you with its blessing.
Gingerly holding your cheeks, Eiichi leaned down. You rested your hands on his chest. You recalled the memories of your last life's marriage, the wedding ceremony with none but only you and Eiichi present.
But now, your reincarnated friends, Kira, Nagi, Eiji, Van, Yamato and Shion, as well as your friends and families had gathered on this special occasion. Cameras were there to capture the matrimonial ceremony of the one and only Otori Eiichi, the leader of the most popular male idol group, HEAVENS.
It seemed as if your man also had the same thoughts as you, for he whispered to you, "I promised you that not even death can tear us apart, didn't I?"
"That you did." Your eyes closed. All of the days you and Eiichi had shared shone on your heart, and poignant tears glistened on your cheeks.
Your kiss sealed your marriage. Your friends and families erupted in cheers, congratulating you on your happy marriage. The cameras recorded the blissful moment of the idol Otori Eiichi and his composer.
The eight of you had been reborn without any memories of your past lives, without your identity being changed. In this life, you grew up in a loving family. Your paths crossed again. Eiichi, Kira, Nagi, Eiji, Van, Yamato and Shion were the members of HEAVENS and you were their composer.
Unlike the previous timeline, this time, only Eiichi fell in love with you. The rest considered you a dear friend and a sister figure. You, too, fell in love with Eiichi; not knowing anything about your past together.
The night on which your memories returned was a memorable one. It was on the night that Eiichi had proposed to you and you two made love for the first time. After a romantic and intimate night, your memories flashed in your dreams. Your six friends had also gotten their memories and all of you had awoken in tears.
You were grateful. Fate gave you another chance and this time, it will have a happy ending.
Hand-in-hand, you two smiled brilliantly at the present guests, thanking them. It was then when flower petals started raining upon you that you turned to Eiichi with a smile more radiant than the sun. He also faced you, eyes gleaming, like he was every bit as happy as you were.
Just from eye contact, you could tell what moment was anticipating. You two could read your eyes, body and mind loud and clear.
You loosely wrapped your arms around Eiichi's neck as he pulled you into a passionate kiss.
The End.
Aaaaaaaand done! You've finally reached the end of Black Garden! It took me five months to complete it. I never tried writing reverse harem before so that's why it took me much longer than intended. Besides, writing for Eiichi comes to me as naturally as breathing. That's why the last few chapters didn't take that long to write.
If anyone hasn't noticed, but I mentioned Shining Agency's idols and Nanami indirectly in the friends and family part. So yeah, it's turned out to be Utapri in the end haha... I'm actually quite satisfied with the ending. I honestly don't think I could have given a better end to this book. I did think of adding an epilogue but then decided against it since this ending is much better. In case you're wondering what the epilogue was gonna be about, it was going to be the morning after their wedding where the reader and Eiichi reminisce about their past with lots of fluff and kisses.
Anyways, my second book is done and today is HEAVENS' Paradise Lost anniversary so double yay! I'll start updating My Guardian Angel from October, if anyone's interested. Another thing I wanna announce is I'll publish my short story book on December 31 (it's still in 2021 so I didn't break my promise lol) Honestly, I'm really stressed about that book 😧
Though, I might even publish something HEAVENS related (like I did with Black Garden) if I suddenly get motivated.
So yeah, that's it from me. Thank you for reading this far! Love Eiichi, HEAVENS and Utapri, guys.
❤💙💛💜💖💟💚
