City of Ronaldo Flats - Connors Island
Hamlet of Rolling Hills
Estimated population 1558
Most of the Hamlet is newer and orchestrated out of a burned down forest that connects to the surrounding waters of the cross section of the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.
Ronaldo Flats is one of the oldest cities on Connor's Island. It's also notorious for crime, Politcal warfare of the citizens and destitution.
Apartments atop of other apartments built into the hills and rock formations of the past water lines and mud. Sticky mud almost like clay found in New Mexico. Resourceful for home making and as such the city is relic like.
Think of old town Tokyo, bustling yet battling daily life in general.
The warfare piece consists of up and coming newly elect parliament members seeking change through the ruins which are Ronaldo Flats. Housing is generally cheap, so a buyers market to tear down and build new. Hence Rolling Hills!
Within all that glitters new & modern shines an old staple, Rolling Hills Manufactured Home site. In Layman's terms a trailer park!
Carney and Tabitha Powers inherited the home from Carney' grandfather. A man who died making clocks all over the island, mainly Ronaldo Flats and Kinney Cove.
Four bedrooms an exquisite form of mobile home of its kind. Tattered with layers of the extremities over the years the home is solid!
Old bark wood cabinets a couple newer Maytag appliances, the kitchen was simple.
Sunk in living room with built in cabinets for the entertainment system of the eighties, complete with the fabric couch and ashtrays surrounding the overfilled coffee table, was their family space setup.
Their family space. Mikey was Eddie's older brother, born in 2000 making him 7 years older than Eddie. Each boy had their own room, with each differing ideas of what constitutes play. Mikey liked to take things apart and fix, destined to be a mechanic Carney would say.
While Eddie was far more introverted and found his time would pass by with comic books and army type gamesmanship.
Carney was super proud of his boys. Their rooms decorated with hockey and football banners. Some army propaganda posters for Eddie and even a couple cut out newspaper spreads of the calendar girl from each week.
Carney drove hauling trucks at this time, all across the island. Didn't pay great, but it afforded the things they needed. Tabitha worked at 'Mannwich Munchies' the Island wide Fast food joint, complete with drive up service and fastened with the old school roller skaters delivering to all that came.
This one afternoon as the boys were walking home from school, Tabitha got off the bus with some take out from work and surprised them on the side of the road. They were thrilled to see their mum and with fast food.
Until they were laughed at by a couple juniors from Mikey's school drive by pointing at laughing at their mums work attire.
A simple joyous moment, tainted by laughter.
