Contents of the Misfortune Bag
Two hand made paintings were placed on his feature wall. Though he was no artist of the brush, he certainly had no issues mixing Colors on the canvas. One he titled the triangle and the other raining in time.
Kiefer seems to understand the triangle on a level only ever understood by Barrie, Leroy, Lee, Bruce and even Mikey.
Kiefer opens up about Killing this junkie woman about ten years back. He claims she owed him and pleaded for herself and apparently her three bastards.
"Fuckin Junkie Whore. I had her Niger raped and strangled"
The triangle dangles the misfortune bag, only this time exposes its contents.
Jamar Jones didn't kill Lee's mum??
Play time the incarcerated version has ended. Kiefer heads back to his cell.
Raining Time creates a rush of afterthought in Eddie's mind.
The next day his parents visit him and Carney celebrates his Eight year sobriety. Both he and Tabitha look healthy and happier. They continue discussing how the urban neighborhood had incorporated a housing first complex which has helped them get back on their feet, in a new home.
Eddie sits there listening.
Carney reaches for Eddie's hand as they discuss the death anniversary of Mikey.
"Mikey chose to discharge himself against the doctors wishes.
I miss the smiles we all used to have when you boys were younger. (Says Carney) Eddie you must understand now, choice gave way for Mikey's death.
His choice Eddie!"
An important dialogue exchange on life that seemed simple back then yet extremely flawed with ignorance.
"I can't carry this anymore.
My name is Bruce and I'm an addict.
(Welcome Bruce, says his audience)
During my addiction I committed numerous crimes as well as eternal pain. I always wondered what it would be like to be okay?
Celebrating this sobriety milestone with a family friend in the room echoes the sadness in my soul. I've committed astonishingly bad crimes and tomorrow I'll turn myself into the police.
I hurt you and your family in so many ways that probably stemmed into this one action. An action I let pass as someone else's deed"
[As Carney explains his milestone to Eddie, his eyes catch on to the relevance of the climax of this seemingly mundane tale.]
Bruce has been charged with raping your mother. All those years, I only remembered a smell. I blocked out his dropped with gold remark. He whispered golden into my ears after he violated me!"
The Merula perches upon the barbwire outside the observatory.
Eddie's mind takes flight, as the black bird stays motionless.
Returning to his cell, Eddie doesn't feel good. He didn't see these events at the time for what they could be. Instead he saw them as opportunities to blame the obvious disdain to the players whom he projected his family and friends anger onto.
"A fucking expected result of a trailer trash junkie, I'll kill you Bruce Boyd!"
