It was a little past noon when I got a letter from Shoji. I had gotten Nanami's letter about 30 minutes before, and really started to miss her as well. But Shoji's letter was much more important.

   "Captain!" I shouted, bursting into the main hall. "Captain Yami!"

   "What's the matter, Nozomi?" Asta asked.

   "My friend," I exclaimed, clutching the letter to my chest. "My friend needs me. Can I go for a few hours? Please, Captain?"

   "Luck is your advisor," Captain said. "Ask him." I turned to look at Luck who was drinking water at a table. He smiled at me.

   "Sure," he said. "Let's go, Hayami!" Hayami was eating with Charmy, but got up when called. The three of us ran outside and made our brooms appear. We flew up and headed towards the Capitol City. Luck did spins and cartwheels in the air, while I focused on getting to the Capitol City as fast as possible.

   When we arrived at the spot Shoji wanted to meet at, I saw Nanami and two others with her. One of them I recognized as Yuno. I landed and immediately went over to hug her. She seemed to be very happy in my arms.

   "How are you, Nanami?" I asked.

   "I'm fine," she said. "This is Yuno and Kouki Chitose. Yuno and Kouki both joined last year, so we're all relatively new."

   "This is my new friend Hayami Aikyo," I said, introducing her. "And-"

   "Well if it isn't Luck Voltia," Yuno said. "It's nice to see you again."

   "Yuno!" Luck exclaimed. "Let's fight!"

   "Shoji!" Nanami shouted as Shoji and two others landed. Nanami and I ran over to him, hugging him tightly.

   "Are you alright?" I asked.

   "Is everything alright?" Nanami asked.

   "Yeah," Shoji said. "I just wanted to see you two, and seeing you has already made me so much better. I see you two have your appropriate shawls." We nodded, looking at each others Magic Knight shawls.

   "Who are your friends?" I asked.

   "Leopold Vermillion!" Luck exclaimed. "You're really strong! Let's fight!"

   "Calm down, Lighting Boy," Hayami said, pulling Luck away from Shoji's male accomplice.

   "I'm Keiko Akizawa," the female said. "Can you believe Shoji actually started crying when he read Nanami's letter?"

   "Keiko!" Shoji shouted. "I told you to never mention that!" But it didn't matter. Nanami hugged him again.

   "I'm really sorry for mentioning your parents!" she wailed. "Shoji! I'm sorry!"

   "Stop clinging to me, Nanami," he said. "I thought you didn't like me."

   "You grew on me," Nanami said, smiling at him. They laughed and I saw the other mages talking to each other. Yes, each individual squad was competing, but you could still be friendly.

   "Let's go for a walk," Hayami said to us, but Leopold shook his head.

   "Our captain only permitted us one hour," he said. "So we can't do much."

   "Help!" a nearby old woman shirked. "My bag! It was stolen!" Leopold, Luck and Kouki went after the thief, and Hayami, Yuno and Keiko went to see if the old woman was alright. I stared at Shoji who seemed to be in a daze.

   "Shoji?" I asked. "Why're you spacing out?"

   "No reason," Shoji said, ears turning a little red.

   "Ooh~," Nanami squealed. "You like~ someone, don't you?" Shoji put a hand over Nanami's mouth.

   "Don't say a word!!" Shoji hissed.

   "A girl?" Nanami asked. "Or maybe a boy? Are you gay, straight or bisexual?"

   "Stop!" Shoji exclaimed. "Quit asking me weird questions!"

   "Alright, alright," Nanami laughed. She smiled at us and put her hand out. "We will always be together, whether it be in person or by letter. We will be able to make quick contact with each other."

   "Yes," I said, nodding my head and putting my hand in the middle. "I will hope for the best of luck for both of you. Stay safe and be sure to eat decent meals. Letter me if anything happens."

   "Yes," Shoji said, putting his hand it. "I hope everyone meets new friends and creates unbreakable bonds with their squads." Our teammates came back and I looked at Luck and Hayami.

   "Ready to go?" I sighed.

   "Yeah," Hayami said.

   "See you around, Nozomi!" Shoji called, flying away with Leopold and Keiko. "You too, Nanami!" Nanami and I waved as he disappeared. I gave Nanami one last hug before getting on my broom and flying after Luck and Hayami.

   "See you later, Sis!" I called to Nanami. She just gave me a wide grin and waved.

   "I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot more of each other soon," Hayami said, looking at the afternoon sun on the Capitol City buildings.

   Maybe Hayami was right. Maybe she was wrong. Maybe 'soon' means next month. It wouldn't matter to me. I just hope everyone is safe and has new friends.
