Chapter 5: Observations and Confrontations
New warning: It's Bakugo again, but he's being a different kind of jerk and touching Yamiyo a little bit inappropriately. If that makes you uncomfortable, skip the end bit when Bakugo shows up again after Izuku leaves.
Yamiyo sighed quietly as he collected his supplies at the end of the day, sleepily shoving them into his schoolbag. He had only managed a twenty minute nap at lunch after eating, and he was absolutely exhausted. Yawning softly, he almost didn't notice Kirishima talking to him. "Huh? Sorry, Eijirou, what'd you say?" He asked, looking up at his friend.
"Oh, I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my place to hang out with Denki and I, but you look completely wiped.... I know! Gimme your phone!" The cheerful boy's smile only faltered for a second before he held out his hand, palm up.
The feline chuckled softly and pulled his phone out of his pocket and entered the passcode before handing it to the enthusiastic teen. "How about you give me your phone, too? I can give you my number and address. But don't come over without asking, 'kay? The neko Quirk myself, my dad and my baby brother have means we hate being awakened from naps."
"Yo, all the guys in your family have ears and a tail?! That really is a manly Quirk!" Kirishima exclaimed, his eyes widening slightly.
"Yeah, but we're all a bit different. Mine's the most powerful, though I don't have whiskers like my baby brother." Yamiyo replied absently as he entered his name, number and address into his friend's phone. They exchanged phones back, and the neko sighed. "Aw, man. I live in the other direction. I was hoping we could walk part of the way together, at least...."
The sharp toothed boy laughed and clapped his hand onto the smaller male's back. "Hey, no biggie! We'll see each other every day anyway! Well, see ya tomorrow! I'll text you!" He waved as he ran to the classroom door where Denki was waiting and they left.
Yamiyo slung his book bag over his shoulder, smirking and shaking his head slightly at his friend's antics as he slipped his phone back into his pocket. Heading out, his ears drooped slightly and his tail dragged on the ground. Suddenly, he heard someone calling his name and looked up to see the freckled boy running over to him from where he had been talking with Uraraka and Iida. "Hmm? Hey Deku. What is it?"
He stopped in front of the feline and his smile was suddenly shy, though his eyes still sparkled and he almost seemed to emit light. "I just...I, uh, wanted to thank you for earlier. You didn't have to say what you did, but I appreciate it."
"Huh? You mean about your potential? Oh. You're welcome, I guess? I only said what I felt to be true. Besides, if I have the potential to be a hero, I don't see why you don't, just cause you get hurt when using your Quirk. You just haven't gotten the proper training for it, is my guess." His ears drooped further and his eyes darkened with sorrow as his heart clenched painfully. Reaching out, he briefly ruffled the taller boy's already tousled hair. "You're very sweet and kind, you know? I'd even say you're pure. Try not to change. You're a rare find in this world of villains and corruption." He smiled a bit, but it was bittersweet.
"Um...I...I'm not quite sure what you mean...." Deku mumbled, his cheeks flushing slightly at the hand on his head, as well as the compliments. "I also wanted to thank you for standing up to Kacchan. I heard what you said to him after the 50 meter sprint."
"I only said what no one else was brave enough to. I'm not scared of him. I know better than almost anyone else here that he's the one who's scared. Now, I really gotta go. I need to sleep. But if you want my number, I can give it to you." The neko yawned softly, only to chuckle wryly. "Here, give me your phone." He said as he unlocked his own.
After they exchanged contacts, he waved at the boy as he ran off to rejoin his friends and was about to head out the gate himself, when he heard a loud voice calling out. "Oi, Cat Fuck!"
Heaving a heavy sigh as his tail began to swish back and forth in annoyance, Yamiyo turned to look at Bakugo. "Yes? What do you want? Whatever it is, make it quick I need to go take a nap."
"You're some kinda freak, aren't you?" The hedgehog growled as he continued advancing on his short classmate, but there was little malice in his gaze for once, only a strange curiosity that was uncharacteristic for the explosive boy.
"Huh?!" The aggressive teen's words hurt deeply, and Yamiyo felt tears sting his eyes as his ears went flat against his head, disappearing into his hair. "Wh-what do you mean?"
"Tsk.... You really are fucking stupid, aren't you?" Bakugo muttered, his upper lip curling in a sneer as he grabbed Yamiyo's wrist and began dragging him around to the back of the school.
"Hey! What are you doing?! Let go of me! Ow!" The boy yelped as a small explosion singed his skin under his classmate's grip.
"Don't make a scene you idiot. I'm bringing you back here for a fucking reason!" Bakugo snapped before letting go and shoving the smaller boy against the wall. "I saw what they did to you, ya know."
"What d-do you mean?" Yamiyo asked, his head ringing from it smacking against the wall.
"Fuck! Do I have to fucking spell everything out for you?!" Bakugo growled before reaching out and rubbing one of Yamiyo's ears with startling gentleness. "This. This fucking turns you on, doesn't it, you freak?"
"Y-yes.... Please stop.... Please, Bakugo, stop!" His cheeks were growing redder and redder and his eyes were downcast as he pleaded with the other boy, tears trembling momentarily on his lashes before falling, glistening on his cheeks.
Bakugo pulled his hand back like he had been stung, his eyes wide. "Well, shit, I'm not gonna DO anything, stupid cat fuck! Stop crying you idiot, it's annoying." Shoving his hands in his pockets, he turned to leave, only to stop when there was a slight tug on his sleeve. "What? You fucking want more, you who—"
"Please don't tell anyone!" Yamiyo blurted out, interrupting him.
"Heh." The ash blonde teen turned around and grinned at the crying boy. "I won't. I'm the only one who gets to hold this over you, idiot." His grin turned to a sneer before he left.
Yamiyo sunk to the ground, trembling. The whole exchange had probably only lasted two minutes, but it felt like hours to the confused, frightened teenager. Taking a deep breath, he wiped his tears away and stood, his thoughts going a mile a minute as he trudged home.
