"I.. oh, yes... of course, my apologies." She was forcing the smile at this point, I could tell. I heard her mutter, "I always did think cats to be a little too high and mighty for my taste."
Both myself and the butler glared at her, I think him more fiercely. (Don't disrespect Sebbys cats or there will be hell to pay -literally. 😂) though we both pretended not to notice.
I blushed a little, why though?! I mean, it's not like he's angry about her insulting me in particular. He probably just REALLY likes cats.
Holy Cow! My spine REALLY hurts from that fall! I turned to Phantomhive, "You should consider reinforcing the roof above your study some time soon. If it -say- collapses, someone could get really injured." I whispered, getting a confused glare in return. "what? that's some solid advice i just gave you. don't look so confused." i winked, returning to the conversation at hand.

"you truly are odd, aren't you Miss (l/n)?" he responded, rhetorically.

"oh, you flatter me." i raised my hand to fan my face in mock-bashfulness. i managed to earn a small smile from Phantomhive with that comment.

" *clears throat* so, to sum up what we already know of this so called, 'Jack The Ripper' he has been killing prostitutes -as of now there are only 2 left alive in London- and the only man left without a suitable alibi being the Lord Viscount Druitt, Allister Chambers. i believe that the most suitable way to keep an eye on the Viscount would be the ball he is hosting tomorrow evening." Sebastian took charge of the conversation swiftly.

"so you are suggesting that the 7 of us will be attending this ball then?" Lau inquired. "sounds wonderful, wouldn't you agree, Ran-Mao?" the woman perched on his lap nodded slightly.

"do i have to?" i whined, "parties and fancy dresses simply aren't my style, you see."

"oh my, does it seem we have a similar issue with you that we do with my Young Lord?" Sebstian sighed.

"Excuse you! ill have you know, anything that runt can do, i can do 100 times better!"

"i like the enthusiasm, my Lady. that mean you should have no difficulty dancing and wearing the dress i prepared." Michaelis smiled happily. darn it! i walked straight into that one.

"just what are you implying!" Ciel frowned, frustrated and nervous.

"if that is what i must do, then do it i shall!"

"excellent. so, it is agreed. we will all go to ball and dance the night away in lovely gowns, drinking fine wine and gossiping with my fellow noble women!" sighed Madam Red, eyes sparkling.

"now, now madam! we mustn't forget that we are supposed to keep an eye on the Viscount also, just as Mr. Butler rightly suggested!" smiled the Chinese man.

"yes, yes, of course! i would never dream of forgetting something so important."

somehow, i doubt that. something seems odd about this woman and that clumsy butler of hers. i just cant seem to identify it right now...

Timeskip to the next day

oh my god! i am soo surprised that everyone agreed to that!! i simply cannot wait until this evening. i will never let Phantomhive forget the night he wore a dress!! yes, i think letters every week when i get home ought to do it! and if i find out that he has stopped opening my letters, i will simply address the envelope as from another household! i cannot wait!

which frock should i buy?

the red one with gold and sliver swirling patterns on the chest, skirt and sleeves. the back and sides of the skirt are ruffled and layered as well as the added crimson flower decorations. there is a large flower at the top also and the sleeves are ruffled and go a few inches above my wrist. it comes with a red, wide brimmed hat which also has flowers.
