Chapter 32

"Jimin...?" Jungkook was stunned. Was this actually happening? Was Jimin lying down at his feet, unconscious, right now? Why did Jimin jump in? Why did he take the blow for Jungkook? All of a sudden, he felt a vibration in his pocket, taking him out of his own thoughts. He slowly, shakily, brought it out, because Jin wasn't moving either.

A quick glance at the screen and Jungkook gasped, his eyes now wet with a stream of tears.

Yoongi: jimin baby is an accomplice

He knew exactly what he meant by that. However he found it hard to believe right now, staring at the body of the precious boy, dying because he sacrificed himself for Jungkook. Just the fact that Yoongi still called Jimin made everything worse.

... Because even Jungkook still thought of the boy as blameless.

"I-I didn't mean to..." Finally, Jin spoke. Jungkook fell to his knees, now calling the police as he rubbed at Jimin's back. Jin wasn't doing anything, staring at the two like he was lost in a blank canvas, so Kookie thought he could get help. When he was done, Jungkook put away his phone and turned Jimin around and laid his head on his lap.

"Jiminnie, please don't go. We still have so much to do." Jimin's face had drops of Jungkook's salty tears falling on him. He had his eyes closed, stroking Jimin's hair continuously as if to comfort the body. As if he was still awake. "Jimin baby, I-I just want you to stay with us. I understand you were keeping things inside, but I swear I j-just want us to talk." Jungkook held onto his hand, rubbing at the butterfly tattoo and looking at Jimin's close eyes. "It's okay! It's okay, Jimin, I still love you, so...!"

Jungkook then remembered the other man in the room. He looked up at Jin with watery eyes, anger bubbling in him. "You... You monster!" He grit through his teeth, "If you had never done anything to Jimin, he'd still be alive! And countless other people, too!"

Jin's face was unreadable. He looked down at Jimin, then back at Jungkook. "I... Am not a monster." He looked at the knife in his hands, wiping the handle with his shirt then dropping it. He knew it wouldn't do much, but that was okay. He was nobody.

"You killed Jimin! Is that what you wanted?! Fucking monster!" Jin's face was still incomprehensible, backing away slowly. His head lowered, so Jungkook stood up and while Jin was vulnerable, and knocked him one on his face. Jin didn't stumble as much as Jungkook wanted, but it was enough. Jin grabbed his jaw, taking one last glance down at Jimin and then turned around, fleeing the area.

If Jungkook didn't know any better, Jin's eyes were watering.

"Jimin!" He called running back to him and pressed his hand against the wound. He leaned in, hugging the boy's limp body as he sobbed into his shoulder, talking to him in a hope to bring him back.

The ambulance brought Jimin to the hospital, waves of blue and red flashing all over the house. Jungkook was forced to stay back and talk about what happened. All he told them was that a man named Jin was the culprit, but that's all he knew about the man. No last name, no background, no nothing. He did describe his face, but the police let him go when they noticed how much of a shock he was in about everything. Now, Jungkook was running to the hospital. Yeah, it was quite far, but he had no money in his pockets, and the buses weren't coming any time soon.

He didn't know how long he had been running for, but he finally made it to the doors of the hospital and checked to see which room Jimin was in, obviously stating he was his boyfriend. The man behind the counter was confused, since another man claimed to be his boyfriend coming by here. Jungkook explained they were a polyamorous group so the man told him the room number.

Jungkook finally found the room, however seeing Yoongi outside on his chair with his head in his hands gave Jungkook a very bad vibe. "Yoongi..." At this, Yoongi lifted his head up and came over to see if Jungkook was okay.

"They said he can make it through – it didn't hit any vital organs, so we just have to wait. But..." His eyes lowered, and Jungkook swallowed hard. "... They said that Sepsis is high in his case." Jungkook felt a weight on his shoulders. The stab didn't kill him, but blood infection... That was just as unpreventable.

They waited a few hours, until a familiar nurse came out of the room to talk to them. It was Taeyeon again. "He's stable for now, but like we said..." She sounded very concerned.

Yoongi and Jungkook didn't know what to say or think. They just nodded, thanking her for the information. "Can we... See him?"

She hesitated, but slowly nodded. "I believe so. He's unconscious, though..."

"That's okay. We would just like to see him." Taeyeon bowed, first making sure that everything cleared inside before they went to see him. She quickly asked them what his name was and how the wound came to be, but they were somewhat hesitant, because the incident had just happened so recently... Either way, Yoongi told her. As soon as they came in, their hearts sunk and their throats felt dry. Jimin looked so pale and fragile, especially hooked up to that machine. His eyes were shut, and he looked troubled, even in sleep.

They didn't move since both boys were afraid and didn't know what to do. As much as they would like to deny it, they couldn't. It hung in the air like death.

Their boyfriend, this young boy, was an accomplice for murder.

"I told the police that Jin was the suspect for murder, but..." Then he went silent, looking down at nothing in particular. The two boys were still a few feet away from Jimin's bed.

Yoongi understood what he meant. He didn't tell them Jimin was also an accomplice. "He should make the choice himself, when he wakes up." Yoongi managed to say with a lump in his throat.

Jungkook looked at Yoongi, feeling a pang through his heart. "But if that happens..." He trailed off; a crack in his voice was heard. It didn't make this any easier for Yoongi. If Jimin told them about his assistance, then he would be brought to jail, possibly for the rest of his life – if he ever told them how many he had helped with. Not even Yoongi or Jungkook knew, but they really hoped that since he was still young, Jimin might not have used too many people.

... Then again, 6 years was a long time.

It hadn't even been 2 hours yet, and the infection was spreading quickly. Jimin's already pale face became too ghostly. He was sweating, a high fever and rapid breathing in his unconscious state. He was even trembling, mumbling inaudible thing under his breath. The doctors already gave him antibiotics to help with the Sepsis, so now they are looking into specific drugs to help fight against his weakened state. But even so, they weren't sure whether or not he was going to make it.

Yoongi and Jungkook were allowed to stay in, however at a fair distance. Taeyeon kept asking them if they needed anything, like a drink, but they kept shaking their heads and were more focused on Jimin. She was kind enough to pass them both a chair, since they looked like they were about to faint.

"He'll make it," Yoongi tried comforting Jungkook, but even if the younger had nodded, neither of them actually heard what he said. It passed through one ear to the next.

The room became a sickly heated mess; both boys could feel sweat sticking against their backs. They held each other's hand unknowingly, yet that didn't help too much. They couldn't feel each other's hands. They were both numb in dread and fear, hoping to god that Jimin was going to make it. They had been waiting another half an hour, sitting there, doing nothing but staring at the doctors and at Jimin.

But now, hearing the slowing beeping noise from the machine, their hopes were rapidly fading.

Yoongi stared down at the stone, and sighed, "Hey... I brought you flowers." The black haired boy let a little smile grow on his lips, leaning down so he could place them over the grave. "I seem to be the only visitor you have," He chuckled softly.

Feeling arms slither around his waist, Yoongi leaned his head back. "Whatcha doing out here?" Jungkook asked, humming against Yoongi's neck. He then noticed the grave, frowning. "Oh." Yoongi sighed once more.

"Yeah. I just felt kind of bad for not visiting yet." Jungkook looked away, so Yoongi cupped his face, wanting to comfort him. "Yeah I know." Yoongi frowned, looking down at the stone again. "I just... Sort of felt bad for him, you know?" He placed his own hands over Jungkook's. "I'm sorry. I know how hard it is for you."

"No no, it's okay." Jungkook exhaled. Jungkook slowly let his arms fall to his sides, making Yoongi silently whimper at the loss of heat on his back. The younger crouched down, playing with the flowers a little. He could feel Yoongi's hand on his shoulder, comforting him. "I forgive you, Hyung Jong. Even if you did try to harm me, I'll forgive you."

Jungkook got up and Yoongi praised him for letting go. "Let's go home."

Yoongi fell asleep on his chair, leaning into Jimin's bed for the 3rd night this week. His back felt awful, but he pushed it over. He felt a hand on his shoulder, massaging it, loosening his strained muscles. He grumbled because Jungkook usually did this every morning after coming to visit, and he really enjoyed the act of intimacy.

"Sleep in your bed, you idiot."

Yoongi's eyes shot open when it wasn't Jungkook speaking. "J-Jimin?!" He choked, nearly falling out of his chair. When he regained his balance, he looked at Jimin who smiled lazily at him and let a raspy laugh come out. He looked worn-out, but Yoongi thought it was still the most beautiful smile he'd ever seen. It was the second time he woke up since he came here. "How are you feeling, baby bear?"

At the sound of that, Jimin looked around the room. Yoongi remembered just how nervous Jimin was when he came into the hospital because of Jungkook. However, when his smile faded, he didn't think it was because of that reason. Jimin swallowed hard, and Yoongi noticed his eyes started watering. "Jimin baby, don't cry."

"I was supposed to die..." He choked back a sob. Yoongi brought a hand against his head, brushing the bangs out of his face.

"Hush, don't say that."

"I was ready to die..."

"Jimin..."

"I wrote my note, too..."

Yoongi bit his cheek. He really was ready for all of this.

"I killed–" Yoongi hugged him, leaving his words caught in his throat.

"I love you, Jimin. Jungkook loves you." Jimin's bottom lip quivered, looking away. "Please, Jiminnie. You never meant to lead this kind of life. You were forced into it. I understand you want a happy ending now, Jimin. I understand." He continued, feeling the boy hiccup in his arms. Because that is exactly what he wanted now. "I'm so sorry for being a dick back then, on that night. If I had let you finish your sentence – if I had let you talk, this probably wouldn't have happened."

"I-I'm sorry, too!" He gently pushed Yoongi away, so he could speak without spitting on his shirt. "I'm so sorry! I was so caught up in revenge and heartbreak and loneliness I wanted nothing more than to make you suffer, too!" He wiped his face, however tears kept spilling out. "I-I wanted to kill you, but when I saw you I just couldn't do it! Every time I saw your face, I realized you never actually remembered me! It hurt me so much!" Yoongi remained quiet, wanting the boy to know he was allowed to redeem himself. "J-Jin told me... He told me you never loved me... He told me you left me on that night! He told me you gave me to him!

Yoongi started really hating Jin, even more than he already did. "Hey, baby," He stroked his cheeks, hoping to calm him down. Now that he thought about it... When he felt sick the first time he saw Jin, it made sense to him now. His subconscious must've remembered the danger Jin was. His mind must've remembered the terror he felt when he fell. That bastard is disgusting. "Is there anything else you want to say...?"

"I... I made that man, Hyung Jong, use the butterfly because I thought you still remembered, so I just... I was trying to mess with you. To get under your skin. A-and, nobody looked for me because a few days after I went missing, a strange fire happened, erasing my files. The real me probably doesn't even exist anymore. And no reports of me 'missing' ever came to be..."

Jimin started coughing, his little hand groping on top of his gown where his wound is. "Oh, right... I nearly forgot." Yoongi assumed he was filled with drugs to stop the pain, but still it hurt him imagining how it must've felt at the time it sunk into his skin... "Yoongi, I'm so sorry. I can't expect you to forgive me!"

"Baby..." He looked down, "You're right. It was wrong, what you did. I don't think I will get over that fact. But you will always be my first love. I'll always love you. Jungkook, too. But that Jin guy... I will never forgive what he did to you."

"There's one more thing..." Jimin trailed off, suddenly looking really guilty. "His real name is not Jin."

Huh? "What do you mean?"

"He's... Really a nobody."
