Chapter 31

It'd been a while since Yoongi went downstairs... He was taking a long time to tell his dad Jimin didn't eat anything. Quite frankly, he was hungry, but he didn't want to be any more of a bother than he already was with Yoongi. Maybe he should go tell them he wasn't that hungry.

He started thinking about what Yoongi meant by 'moving.' But Jimin still didn't get what he meant. Was he angry at Jimin because he... moved? But wasn't that natural? Walking is a part of human nature...

With this in mind, he hopped off of Yoongi's bed and paced himself down the stairs. At the very bottom when he arrived in the kitchen, he halted with horror when he noticed a body on the ground, covered in a pool of blood.

"F-Father?" Jimin was trembling. He didn't want to go near the body in fear that what he was seeing was actually true. Who could've done this? Jimin gasped, looking around for a certain boy that was missing. "Yoongi?!" He shouted, however quickly covered his own mouth when he thought about a killer in the house. He remained silent, looking around with doe eyes in hopes that the murderer wasn't in the house anymore. When there was silence, he slowly removed his hands and looked at the dead body again.

Yes, he called this man his Father. He was the only real father he ever had. His father at home wasn't even his biological father; it was a man his mother dated in hopes of getting her mind off of her real husband, who divorced her because she was, well, fucking awful to be around. She dated a man who was no different. Jimin didn't understand why he had to be in the middle of it, being nonexistent other than a punching bag to the two.

Jimin started shouting for Yoongi again as the unfortunate boy was letting a stream of tears down his face, quaking horrendously as he was absolutely petrified that Yoongi could've been kidnapped or killed. Everything was going so wrong in just a day. Yoongi hated him, and now his father was lying dead on the floor. How could this day get unhappier?

After he figured out his boyfriend wasn't in the house, the frightened boy cried while he walked out of the front door and started making a run down the road. He wasn't thinking clearly; all he thought about was getting help. Thankfully, a car passed by and he started waving frantically to get their attention. When it slowed down and stopped beside him, he let out a gasp of relief.

"J-Jin!" He wiped his tears, and attempted to explain the situation but his weeping was too jumbled for Jin to understand.

"Get in the car, we'll go get help." He said, unlocking the door. Jimin nodded and hopped in shotgun, buckling his seatbelt like a good boy. He clenched his little hands against his pants tightly; still weeping all the while Jin started driving.

"Your parents are dead." Jin said. Jimin sniffled, unable to understand what he had just heard. He slowly looked up at Jin, rubbing his eyes without hurting his bruised one.

"W-What?"

"I killed them." He said without remorse. He kept his eye on the road, as if what he was talking about was about the weather. Because of his tone, it took Jimin a while to comprehend he was saying something actually really horrifying.

"You're kidding right?"

"No." He said. It was silent in the car as Jimin was collecting his thoughts. Or what was left of it. He looked at his hands, his crying had halted. Jin wasn't laughing. He sounded like he was telling the truth.

Jimin gasped, looking out the window as he shouted his boyfriend's name. He looked at Jin, his eye twitching in a bundle of emotions he couldn't even describe. "Y-Y-You didn't h-hurt Yoongi, did you!?"

Jin shook his head, a little smile on his face. "No, Yoongi left you."

Jimin slowly opened his eyes widely as he swore he could feel his heart shatter into pieces. "H-He... What?"

"He told me to take you in. He said he didn't love you anymore, so he didn't need you around either."

"That... That's not true....." He was in denial. Yoongi would never leave him... "He loves me. He even gave me this tattoo."

"Are you sure he gave it to you because he liked you? Wasn't he acting a little weird lately? Maybe it's a joke to him."

He had a point... "H-He did say he hated me..." He mumbled to himself, as if piecing together the reasoning. Did that mean Yoongi really...? "... Wh-What about dad...?" He could feel his eyes start dampening once again remembering the horrible scene.

"He had a fight with his dad because of you, and an... Accident happened. Unfortunate, really." Jin sighed, his eye never leaving the road. Jimin however had his heart and his mind both racing simultaneously as he didn't know what to think. Except one thing.

It all made sense.

Jimin's face was wet and his hopes of being with Yoongi were crushed. All he wanted was to talk with Yoongi today, but he couldn't even do that. He was interrupted every time he spoke.

And Yoongi hated him, because Jimin wasn't loveable enough. Yoongi left him because he didn't love Jimin anymore.

Jimin was probably never loved in the first place. How long did Yoongi fake it?

And worst of all, Yoongi's father died because of Jimin.

If he hadn't existed, Yoongi would never have been mad at him, and his father would still be alive and smiling.

"... He left me to rot in my own misery?" He said, his pink, damp eyes glaring outside of the window. His little hands clenched into fists, breathing hitched with his snuffles but also raging with wanted revenge. He was tired of being played with. He was tired of always being the punching bag. He was tired of love.

He turned to face Jin. "Why should I be with you? You're the person who killed my parents."

"I am helping you."

"That's what Yoongi told me six years ago, now look where I am."

"No no, I'm really helping you. I protect children who are abused by their parents. So, you're coming with me."

... He might as well, right? Nobody loved him here. His parents were dead. His father – Yoongi's father was dead.

And Yoongi didn't love him anymore.

He looked down at the tattoo on his wrist. This butterfly... Didn't mean love. It meant something else. Abandonment.

Jimin stared out of the window, wiping at the tears that still seemed to flow. This was a kidnapping, and look how accepting he was of it. Was Jimin sick in his head? Maybe. He didn't feel any remorse that his parents were apparently dead.

Yoongi was everything to him for the past 6 years. He brought Jimin back on his feet. Yoongi even went so far as to sneak into his room at midnight just to help comfort Jimin multiple times. Jimin's heart started throbbing as he thought of all the good memories he had. How could Yoongi do this to Jimin?! It was all just an act. He started sobbing again.

Nonetheless, only one question roamed in his mind, unknowing that it would haunt him for the next 6 years.

Why me?

Yoongi awoke to the noise of dirt being shuffled around. Was somebody playing in the garden? Groggily, he opened his eyes and the first thing he noticed was his feet. That's weird... He forced open his wavering eyes the best he could so he could better understand where he was. However, as he saw his feet, he also noticed how the earth was moving, too.

Yoongi was being dragged.

The last thing he remembered was a shady man who knocked him out. And now he was outside of his own house, being brought somewhere as his consciousness was slowly coming back. Before he felt like he could do anything with his weak body, the texture of the earth changed into one of a smoother pattern. It was... It was the bridge he had in his backyard. He wriggled his arms in an attempt to escape the hold the murderer had on his wrists, however this person's grip was stronger.

Then he stopped.

Yoongi felt his wrists release and immediately went to kick his legs and flee, however right as soon as he stepped on the ground, the man picked him up by his waist and he was trapped once again. His shoulders were broad, able to carry something as small as Yoongi.

He kicked and punched and wriggled so much but he would never be able to budge out of this. He begged for the man to let him go, however the result in that was seeing the ground... Over the bridge. Yoongi didn't have much of a go in all of this; feeling so powerless and scared. The man didn't hesitate when he threw him off the bridge.

Yoongi remembered how he and Jimin used to walk on this bridge to go to the convenience store about 10 minutes away. Jimin would close his eyes as he smiled, leaving Yoongi feeling breathless and happy. Usually he would buy Jimin a treat – ice cream, to be precise. Despite the fear of falling, he was suddenly seeing these happy memories of him and his boyfriend together.

Yoongi smiled unconsciously, remembering one day the ice cream was melting and he was teasing Jimin because he was acting so cute. Then, Jimin dipped his finger in the ice cream and relentlessly rubbed it all over his nose with fits of giggles. Yoongi remembered how he pretended to gasp with shock, then grabbed onto Jimin's shoulders as he brought his face in reaaaaaaaaaal close.

"Yoongi no! Stooooooooooop!" Jimin whined with a grinned as he tried escaping.

Yoongi crinkled his nose playfully and with a deep light-hearted voice he said, "No no no~ you made a mess and now you're just going to have to be messy with me." He succeeded in pressing the tip of his nose anywhere against Jimin's struggling face, resulting in the two now having pink sticky liquid on their faces.

"Yoongiiiiii~~" Jimin squealed, Yoongi let go of his shoulders and the chubbier boy grimaced, but he was clearly having fun. "Now we're going to have to get cleaned up!" He complained. Yoongi rolled his eyes, very much amused by his reaction.

"I'll treat you really nicely when we get home, okay? I'll even make you supper and maybe let you stay for a sleepover." Jimin gasped happily, a not-so-secret smile crossing his face that Yoongi absolutely loved.

"C-Can I really sleep over?! Please!" Jimin couldn't contain his joy as he laughed. Yoongi tsked and nodded, giving in to the boy's wishes. However Yoongi's eyes widened in shock when he saw a strange sight. A very strange sight indeed.

"Y-Yoongi! Help!" Jimin screamed but he didn't move, afraid of the insect on his nose. Yoongi couldn't contain his glee, a giant gummy smile very prominent as he laughed at the poor boy.

"It's just a butterfly, Jiminnie. Calm down." He said, taking in the strange darker colour it had than a normal butterfly.

"B-But why is it on me?!" Jimin whimpered and trembled.

"The ice cream must've caught its eye. Here, hold on." He said, putting a finger gently against Jimin's nose. The butterfly, thankfully, slowly crawled onto his finger. "Here, look at this." He grabbed Jimin's hand as he walked next to the bridge, the butterfly already taking off so soon. Jimin stared in wonder as it flew off of his finger and flew down the bridge. "Say bye to the butterfly."

Jimin leaned against the fence of the bridge, aggressively waving his little hand, "Bye-bye butterfly!"

Crying, Yoongi looked up at the bridge and strangely enough, saw a younger version of Jimin and himself on the top, smiling down at him while Jimin waved goodbye. He could see the cute boy saying something.

Bye-bye butterfly!

He closed his watering eyes, savouring the memories with Jimin, flowing in his head, before a crack could be heard against the hard ground.

When he opened his eyes again, it was a completely white and quite room, except for the occasional beeping coming from a machine. And there was a stranger beside his bed. A hospital bed. He wondered why he was here, or how he came to be here, but despite that, there was one thing he knew.

There was something he needed to do. He didn't know what, but it nagged in the back of his head ever since his eyes closed.

Staring at the woman beside his bed, he finally said something.

"... Who are you?"
