Undertaker x Reader
It was Madame Red's funeral. You knew it was a mistake, getting involved with a reaper. You also knew it was a mistake to get involved with Ciel Phantomhive, the Queen's Guard Dog, and his butler, Sebastian Michaelis. You and Ciel weren't friends, no, but you both were forced to work together on cases. Not all cases, but a few. The Earl disliked you because of your butler, Henry. Henry had dark blue hair and bright green eyes. His hair was slicked back slightly (like Claude). He wore a normal butler attire with white gloves and all. Of course, he was a demon just like Sebastian. You had your contract on the right side of your neck, covered by your hair. When you had to tie your hair up you had to cover it up with a bandage. You used the excuse that it was ugly and not appropriate to show in public, and people seemed to believe that and accept that excuse. Ciel, on the other hand, didn't believe you for one minute. He saw through your butlers act just as you saw through his. Demons can easily identify other demons, there was no point hiding it. Henry could've tried to cover his scent with reapers, but then he would've had to actually spend time with reapers, and to be quite honest, you didn't expect Ciel to have made a contract with a demon in the first place.
You were close to Madame Red, she was like a sister to you. Your family neglected you and hated you because you were different... because you had bright red eyes. Madame Red, on the other hand, she taught you to praise your red eyes and love the colour red. She treated you like her younger sister, daughter even. You felt sorry for her though, losing the two things she loved in the same accident, and then losing the love of her life and her sister in a fire. She never mentioned Ciel to you and you never understood why... until you found out that she was the one causing the murders. Until you found out she was Jack the Ripper. You were forced to help with that case, even though you told the Queen that Ciel could handle it on his own. Ciel agreed with your statement but the Queen wasn't going to have any of it. An order from the Queen must be done, and you being the Queen's Owl, had to fulfill them with the one and only, Queen's Guard Dog. Now, you couldn't exactly tell Ciel you knew who was causing the murders, because then you would've been next. You avoided Madame Red for a while, and told her nothing about the investigation. You told Ciel not to mention you or your butler to Madame Red, and he questioned you at first but you never told him. You were a good liar, you were sly and you could easily see through people's acts. That's why you got the title Owl. You had good eyes. You were wise too, and you solved most cases at night, just to keep the title true, this slightly messed with the cases with the Guard Dog, because he worked in the day while you were sleeping, so you both had to come to a compromise. Sometimes you would work days, sometimes you would work nights. This meant that you and the Earl had about the same sleeping schedule.
You ordered your butler to not interact with the other demon unless it was necessary, which it rarely was. The only time they had to interact was when in the kitchen cooking for you and Ciel, but even then you ordered your butler to not say anything that could ruin them. Your butler, being the loyal one he was, obeyed your order and said nothing that could even be linked back to anything you did that was wrong, and you being a person who made a contract with a demon had done some pretty bad things, but that's a different story.
As I was saying, It was Madame Red's funeral, and you somewhat predicted this type of ending. You didn't expect Grell to kill her, but expected blood, and lots of it. You expected your blood to be honest, covering up for Madame Red as much as possible. You acted like you didn't know who the killer was and solved the case how you would normally. You had no time to regret anything though.
"I told her not to mess with reapers. I knew it was suspicious when she turned up with that stupid butler. She had no right to drag me into this as well. She knew I would have to eventually solve this case, she almost got me killed WITH Ciel. I am slightly disappointed." You said as you put a black ribbon around your neck, tying a bow on the rights side of your neck where the contract was. You failed and groaned. Henry took that as an order to help, which it was. He smirked as he fixed the ribbon/bow thing.
"She was desperate. Humans do stupid things when they let their emotions get in the way." Henry said as he finished the bow. He gave you another smirk, which was annoying you. Yes, your butler was handsome, but he annoyed you sometimes.
"Like making a contract with a demon?" You retorted as you sat on the bed, waiting for Henry to put your black knee high lace boots on. He laughed at your reply.
"Exactly like making a contract with a demon." He smiled as he finished with your shoes. You stood up and waved your arm, signalling for him to go. You were going to be late if you didn't leave soon.
Henry walked down the stairs, you following. You were wearing a black dress, that ended a few inches above your knees. You didn't mind because It was what Madame Red had bought you, and you thought you should wear that dress out of respect. You bought some red roses earlier in the day. Henry gave you the bouquet before he opened the carriage door, helping you in. He closed the door and sat in the drivers seat and that's when the long journey started.
The journey was smooth and surprisingly quicker than you expected. As Henry helped you out of the carriage, there was no sign of Ciel being inside already. You walked in and you heard a few gasps. No one knew about your relationship with Madame Red, and not many people saw you up and about in the daylight. You ignored all the whispers and walked up to Madame Red's body. She looked so peaceful, like she was only sleeping. She was in white, which didn't suit her. She suited red. You put the bouquet in her hands and smiled.
"Sweet dreams Madame Red." You whispered into her ear. Henry was outside, waiting for the funeral to end. You stood next to Elizabeth, who you met a few times, and gave her a weak smile. You could tell she was trying her best to not cry. You were about to say some comforting words when the doors opened again, red petals blown in. Everyone gasped again and started whispering. Ciel walked down the pathway towards you, a red dress in his hand. He sat on the edge of the coffin and placed the red dress on Madame Red. He whispered something into her ear as Elizabeth cried. You felt a little awkward as everyone had sorrow and tears in their eyes, Ciel was looking away from everyone, not needing to worry about showing emotions but you, you were in full few of most people. You put your acting skills to use and started fake crying, earning a smirk from Henry, who was standing by the entrance.
Once the funeral was over, you and Ciel were the last people to leave. You walked out, saying nothing to Ciel. Sebastian and Henry entered when everyone left. You signalled for Henry to follow you, but once you stepped outside you saw someone with long grey hair standing by the fence. You were about to ask Henry something when Ciel came out of the building. He signalled for you to follow him, and you did so. You noticed that the man was following too. You, and Ciel got into the same carriage, Sebastian and Henry sitting out in the front. The man was following behind, using a donkey as a horse? You laughed slightly at the sight, even though today wasn't a day for laughing, but you tended to laugh at inappropriate times.
You arrived at what seemed like a graveyard. Ciel was the first to get out with the help of Sebastian. Henry helped you out and you carried on following Ciel. You were behind a bit, talking to Henry about how this was your fault. All those women died because you couldn't just throw away the trust you and Madame Red had. You saw the man, grabbing Ciel by the tie. That's when you noticed you and Henry had stopped moving all together. You walked up to Ciel and he talked about how it was his fault, how he knew Jack the Ripper was going to be there and he could've stopped it. If only he knew that it was your fault everyone else had died. Ciel then started to leave, Sebastian following. Once they were too far away to hear their words, Ciel stopped, turned and looked at Sebastian. He said an order and Sebastian got down on one knee, hand above heart, and said a reply, probably 'Yes My Lord.' You looked at the grave again, only to notice the man didn't leave.
"It's my fault." You said to no one inparticular. This caught the mans attention. You carried on speaking, "It's my fault they all died. I knew who Jack the Ripper was from near the start. I knew it was Madame Red and that stupid Grell Sutcliff. I didn't do anything extra to stop it, I treated this as any other case. Their lives were in my hands and I crushed them." You said, again, to no one inparticular. The Undertaker was still looking at you. You looked at him. "I know you know. I know you are also the legendary reaper. What was it they said? You could even make crying children willingly give up their souls?" You said as you walked up to him.
"Hehehe, you're more clever than you seem." The Undertaker laughed.
"I can see through people's disguises." You said as you pointed to your eyes. He smiled again as he stepped closer to you. You didn't step back because you though that would be showing weakness.
"Those eyes are going to get you in the trouble. Hehehe." The Undertaker whispered in your ear. You glared at him, finally stepping back.
"I'm the Queen's Owl, of course they're going to get me in trouble. My title will make sure of that. I don't need a reaper like you to tell me what's going to get me in trouble and what's not. You need to spend more time around Ciel." You scoffed. The Undertaker looked surprised slightly, even though you couldn't see his eyes, you guessed. You motioned for Henry to follow you as you left the graveyard.
You were back in your mansion, your mood highly ruined. You felt like you needed to see that stupid Grim Reaper, and it annoyed you. You didn't want to see him, you didn't need to see him. Did you? No. You shook your head as Henry came in with coffee. You didn't sleep much in the day, due to the funeral, and you didn't really want to change your sleeping arrangements again. Plus, it was Ciel's turn to change his sleeping pattern to solve whatever case was next. The Queen was to send you both a letter when you didn't need to work together, but to be quite honest, you think she forgot all about this. Or she planned ahead to never write a letter so the both of you would be stuck working together until the day you both died. That didn't worry you much though, you were very close to completing your wish.
"Henry, we are going to the Undertakers." You said. Henry smirked, but still questioned you.
"Is there another case you need to solve?" He asked as he took the empty cup away. You scowled at him.
"Do not question me demon." You spat. Henry bowed and left, getting a carriage ready. You were still wearing the same clothes from the funeral, and you weren't really planning on getting changed into something else. You were, technically, still mourning Madame Red. You did put red lipstick on, again, for Madame Red. She bought it for you for your birthday and you never wore it, but you thought why not... and you wanted to look good the the Undertaker. You walked down the stairs and saw Henry by the door. He opened the door and you stepped outside, looking at the carriage. Henry opened the carriage door and helped you in, getting in the front. You sighed as another long journey was going to happen. You looked at your reflection in the window.
Those eyes are going to get you in trouble. That's what repeated in your mind. Your eyes. The bright red eyes that Madame Red helped you to love so much. The red eyes she praised you for. The only one who made you believe you had something worth smiling for. Madame Red.
You frowned when you noticed that you were crying. You wiped your eyes and blinked back the tears and scowled at yourself. Crying was a sign of weakness, and you were not weak. The carriage finally stopped and the carriage door opened, revealing Henry, of course. He helped you out and you walked into the Undertakers shop, not hesitating for a moment. When you walked in, you noticed that the Undertaker was nowhere to be seen. You sighed, knowing he was in the coffin. You sat on a coffin, waiting for Henry to knock on the coffin at the far end of the shop. Once he knocked you heard laughing. Henry appeared by your side again and the coffin opened, revealing the Undertaker.
"Hehehe, I expected you." The Undertaker smirked. You said nothing as you rolled your eyes.
"Of course you did." You said as you shifted slightly on the coffin.
"Why are you here at such a late hour?" The Undertaker giggled, again. You didn't answer. You didn't plan that far ahead. You didn't even know why you were here. While you were thinking, you didn't notice that the Undertaker had sat next to you. Your eyes landed on the Undertaker again, and without thinking you kissed him. Your mind was clouded and you were still confused at what you were doing. The Undertaker kissed you back, placing his hands on your waist. Henry didn't really know what to do so he kind of just walked out of the shop, standing by the door. You pulled away, needing oxygen, unlike the Undertaker. Your cheeks had a pink hint to them as you looked down You stood up and walked towards the door. Before you opened it you turned to face the Undertaker.
"Is that a good enough answer for you?" You smirked as you left the shop. You turned to Henry, who was smirking too.
"Don't ever speak of this. That's an order." You said as you walked back to the carriage. Henry bowed.
"Yes, Mistress."
A/N
This took me forever. It is the longest chapter thing I have ever written! 2600+ words. I am proud. Near the end I was about to change the whole thing but I decided not to because, I worked so damn hard. I had to type so quickly to finish this off and actually have more ideas to carry on this. The Undertaker just laughs way too damn much.
On another note, I was doing black butler boyfriend quiz's (because my friend was on the phone to me and she likes to hear me rant about not getting the ones I want) and out of, like, 7, 6 were Ciel. That other one was Sebastian. My friend mocked me for not getting Sebastian. I was very upset. I thought I was going to get Sebastian, but I was stuck with Ciel. I don't HATE Ciel, but Sebastian is my favourite. My friend just mocked me saying we were meant to be. She will get sat on.
Ciel is pretty though.
