You had been seeing Ciel for a few weeks now and you were hoping he would ask you to be his soon because everything was going so great... well... that's what you thought. He had failed to mention one little detail about himself that you would've loved to have known about, a detail that wasn't so little. You doubt he was going to tell you at all if it wasn't for the situation you were currently in now, you and Ciel standing opposite each other while a blonde female stood by the study door.

"Elizabeth! What are you doing here?" Ciel questioned as he covered the shock in his voice by giving off his monotone expression.

"I came to see you. Who is this?" 'Elizabeth' questioned as she walked closer to you, and you started to feel your throat dry up and your stomach drop, and the words you heard next did not help.

"This is [Y/N], [Y/N] this is Elizabeth, my fiancée." Ciel said slowly as he observed you and your reaction. You said nothing as you walked out of the study and down the stairs where you bumped into someone. You were upset with the whole situation but you weren't crying, because part of you expected something like this to happen, however it was obvious on your face that something was wrong.

"Is everything alright, Milday?" Sebastian's voice flowed through the air as you were brought out of your thoughts and back into reality.

"Um... yeah, I'm fine just tired." You gave him a fake smile that he returned. You tried to walk past him but you stopped when he started speaking again.

"The Young Master is having a ball this evening and he would appreciate it if you came." You didn't say anything as you nodded, knowing that Sebastian knew the answer before even asking the question. When you got home you laid in bed for what seemed like forever, before you decided that crying over him would not be worth it, but going to the ball would. You put on the fanciest dress you could find and fixed your hair, determined to make Ciel want you more than he wants Elizabeth, the blonde who seemed to have what you wanted the most.
You arrived back to the manor in the late evening, people flooding in through the doors as the ball had just begun and everyone was excited to be invited to such an event at the Phantomhive manor, yet you were excited for another reason. As you walked through the doors you let the familiar scent hit flow up your nose as you let out a sigh, heading for the ballroom. You enjoyed dancing even though Ciel hated it, it was one thing you both would argue on. You watched couples dance and felt a wave of sadness hit you. Sebastian noticed your expression and mood change and walked over to you.

"May I have this dance?" He bowed before holding his hand out. You nodded and smiled before placing your hand on top of his, letting him lead you towards the dance floor where he twirled you around before starting a slow dance. There wasn't much talking between the two of you but you didn't mind as your mind had become elsewhere as you noticed Ciel and Elizabeth dancing. What happened next was all a surprise to everyone, including you. You placed your hands on Sebastian's face and pulled him closer down to you, placing your lips on his before walking away and acting like nothing happened, knowing that Ciel had watched the whole thing.
You expected Ciel to shout at you but he refused to even look at you during the rest of the all, which caused you to leave earlier than everyone else. When you got home you knew you had messed up.
Ciel was forced to work with you on cases (you started working for the Queen after the ball incident) and you knew things would never be the same with you two.
It broke your heart.
