"And for the best of this case we'll need-"

"Young master?" The duo looked up from their pleasant talk to find Sebastian with a 'E' wax sealed letter in hand and directed to his master.

Ciel took the envelope from him, signaling for the butler to go, who obediently did so, and shot his guest a slightly apologetic gaze before opening the letter.

His eyes skimmed the paper before his eyebrows scrunched up with disdain and he groaned softly. With a sigh, Ciel put the letter back in the envelope before placing it on the table. Seeing the confused and analytical gaze of the other, he merely waved it off and continued his sentence from before.

"Now, as I was saying-"

"Oi, Ciel!"

Ciel's eye twitched just so slightly as they turned to the source of the noise. Still, he, though annoyed, was not surprised to find Edward. Sebastian had told him earlier that day of the Midford children coming over.

A hard glare from Edward was set on Ciel, but his eyes simply widened upon seeing who was seated in front of him, looking at him rather patient albeit expectantly

"(M-M/n) Hawkington?!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah yes, the eldest son to the Hawkington family of Britain, with an exceptionally long ancestry of detectives, murderers at that as well. For many years now though, the family was only full of actors, singers, artists, musicians, etc...
His mother, a popular singer, his father, was the biggest pianist in Britain. They had always been a pair, her voice harmonizing echantingly with his mesmerizing piano.
It was no wonder his father's popularity dropped a bit lower after her death.
Now, (M/n) though, was heavily different. Why, ever since he was a child, it was clear he had heavy talent in one field, just like his ancestors, bringing it back into the family after all those years.
His cleverness, his intelligence, his compassion, his determination.
He was a natural born detective.
And he was the Queen's Mockingjay.
Now, it's about time we headed back to where we left off of, correct?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Yes, indeed it is." Ciel said, lightly irritated form having been interrupted. "Would you kindly leave as we continue with our chat? This is important aft-"

"No, no. He can stay." (M/n) spoke up, making Edward stare at him with wide eyes still. His voice was calm, silky as it was smooth. He felt as if he could fall asleep just describing it now. "We were finished anyways. Besides, from what I heard your butler say, he and Lady Elizabeth will be here for a long while, visiting you for the month.

Perhaps he could be of help."

Edward tensed at this as (M/n) set down his cup of Jackson Grey, empty now, putting his hands together to clap them together. This made Edward jump a bit in surprise, looking at (M/n) with widened eyes once more.

"Now." He grinned softly, all too calm and excited for comfort. "The Undertaker we go, correct?"

Pushing his hands on the table now, he pushed his chair away to stand up, linking them together in front of him after pushing it back in.

Ciel let out a quiet growl, a bit ticked to realize their conversation from before was most likely forgotten, or at least brushed aside. He didn't know which hurt his ego more. Still, a smile adorned (M/n)'s face, and it calmed him down. His smile was like that. It was perfect

In fact, so perfect, that it was to the point of, although as beautiful as it was, it was unnerving as well.

Ciel rolled his eyes with disappointment wracking his body as the other two looked away and headed out the door. He'd been expecting to do this case with (M/n), and him alone. This was both aggravating and bothersome.

"Jealous, are we, young master?"

Ciel gritted his teeth, immediately glaring at his demon butler who had made his sudden appearance at the scent brewing off him. Ciel gave a small huff and stopped his nonsensical stare, not in the least bit surprised at Sebastian and looking away to hide any shame.

"Shut your mouth, and go get the carriage ready. We're going to the Undertaker."

"Why of course~" Sebastian smirked, heading out to do the such, which would be quick and easy for him. He decided against mentioning that the young master hadn't done anything to deny his accusation.

"Ciel?" (M/n)'s voice softly rang out, the said boy looking at the other by the door waiting, though already about to leave as well.

"Right, right. Coming."

Entering the carriage, Ciel and Edward both glared at each other, seated on both sides of (M/n) who paid them no mind, instead taking to bring all his attention to the book in his lap that Mey-Rin in had been holding onto for him earlier.

He sighed lightly, flipping a page. He just knew things were not going to be simple, as many of these strange cases in Britain were.

Yet for some reason he felt as if...this one was special. That it was going to be far more eccentric than any other.

For a split second, his dazzling (e/c) lightly flashed a brilliant magenta as he allowed a small smirk to taint his lips and for his sharp canines to show to just a blink of an eye, going unnoticed by the two silently bickering and fuming humans.

Indeed, this case would be much more entertaining.

Stuck in his own world now, mind once again immersed in his book, (M/n) missed the ravenette that stared at him with interest, a smirk of his own on his lips as well, quietly whispering as he readied to get them going.

"My, my. I haven't seen a vampire in years."
