Sebastian's POV

My eyes shifted as I felt a cold breeze run through my body, I opened my eyes and found that I was laying on the floor.

"What happened? I can't remember." I told myself.

I looked around and saw that I was in what used to be Catherine's room.

"Catherine..." I muttered.

I looked at the window and saw that it was dawn was approaching.

"I must wake the young master soon."

I stood up from the floor and fixed my uniform I exited the room and I hesitantly locked it.

I went to the kitchen to prepare the young master's breakfast and morning tea as well as waking the servants up.

Cynthia's POV

I was sleeping peacefully in my room when I heard a knock on my door.

"My lady, it's Luke may I come in?" He asked.

"Yes, you may."

Luke opened the door and walked into the room.

"Luke today we are starting our investigation at what happened at my one of my father's laboratories, stein laboratory"

"Of course my lady."

Luke changed me into a red and white dress.

A knock was heard on the door as he had just finished

"Come in." I called.

It was Sebastian.

"My lady Cynthia my master would like for you to join him for breakfast outside before you depart." He said

"Yes, of course tell ciel I'll be there shortly."

"Luke I think you should see to the carriage alright come to me when preparations are ready okay?" I smiled

"Yes, my lady."

Luke left the room to make preparations leaving me and Sebastian the only ones in the room.

"Now my lady if you'll allow me I'll escort you." He suggested

"Let's go then Sebastian." I said

Sebastian escorted me to the dining room where ciel was waiting.

"Good morning Cynthia did you sleep well?" Ciel asked

"Yes, I slept just fine."

Sebastian pulled the chair out for me to sit on as he placed a plate of food in front of me. I began to eat ciel looked at me intently.

"Is something wrong lord?" I asked

"No it's alright I was just curious what are you gonna do today?" He asked

"I have to investigate one of my fathers laboratories an accident happened and many of my fathers workers were killed and injured also some suffered mental trauma from the incident." I said

"Interesting what is this laboratory called?" He asked

"Stein laboratory."

Ciels eyes widened "Stein laboratory..."

"Yes, it was one of the many laboratories my father owned it was also one of the two biggest facilities established in London a few months ago I received word that an accident involving a chemical experiment gone wrong happened at the lab and it was to be investigate by myself I also have to talk to some of the witness who are currently in mental asylums due to the trauma they experienced I must later give at report and decide whether the lab should be rebuilt or just demolished." I informed.

"I've heard about the incident but the queen never asked me to investigate so I left the matter alone, if you want I can get you the registrations of the asylums the witnesses were admitted to." Ciel offered.

I smiled ."Thank you that would help a lot, but I feel like I should just investigate the laboratory for today. Tomorrow I'll go to the asylums and interview the witnesses." I explained.

"Sounds good to me Cynthia I wish you luck on your investigation." Ciel said.

"Thank you ciel let us go Luke."

"Yes, my lady." Luke said.

"Sebastian escort lady Cynthia and her butler outside." Ciel said.

"Yes, my lord."

Sebastian escorted me and Luke out from the dining room to the front door where the carriages were waiting for us.

"Have a safe journey my lady do return safely."Sebastian said.

"Yes, of course thank you.

Luke helped me get inside the carriage then he entered the carriage as well.

The driver struck the horses and the carriage started moving we soon left phantomhive manor.

Something didn't feel right I felt from what I've read in the report from Scotland Yard some of the workers were brutally slaughtered pictures were sent to me some of the workers were completely dismembered.

'What if the accident at the laboratory wasn't a chemical accident?'

The thought of something else caused shivers to crawl down my spine.

"Are you alright my lady? You look rather pale." Luke asked

I looked at Luke. "Yes I'm fine, it's nothing."

Luke's POV

My lady's soul suddenly shifted it indicated to me that she was uneasy.

"Are you alright my lady? You look rather paled." I asked.

"Yes, I'm fine, it's nothing." She said.

I felt a chill in the atmosphere more specifically the scent of death lingered in the air we were getting close to the laboratory.

The carriage suddenly stopped.

"My lady we are here." I announced.

"This is the laboratory?" She asked.

"Yes, it's seems the accident left it in pretty bad shape." I explained.

I got off the carriage and helped my lady down.

"The laboratory looked so different from what It used to be." My lady stated.

"Have you been here before my lady?" I asked curious.

"No, but I had seen this place in the archives of my fathers study he had several labs all over Europe this was only one of them." She said.

"Let us go inside then my lady." I suggested.

"Yes, the sooner we start the sooner this investigation can progress." She said.

My lady and I entered the laboratory as expected it was in a horrible state. Floor tiles broken tables and chairs broken and glass shards everywhere.

"According to the reports from Scotland Yard a chemical explosion caused a fire and some workers died, but why are there chairs and tables broken?" She assumed.

"Could be that they were desperate to escape the flames?" I assumed.

They were desperate to escape but not from the flames....

"Possibly but I highly doubt it...." My lady stated.

She walked to one of the doors and tried to open it.

"It's locked....why?"

She looked inside through the glass.

"There's chairs and tables blocking the door like a barricade as if they wanted to keep something out, but why would you barricade yourself in a room of there was a fire?"

They did want to keep something out, but not fire....

"Luke lets go downstairs." My lady ordered.

"Yes."

My lady and I took the stairs to the lower levels of the laboratory and encountered a long hallway.

"It's cold down here Luke." My lady stated.

"It seems so..." I said.

We walked down the long hallway suddenly.

"Luke I smell blood it's coming from that room at the end of the hall."

"I smell it too it's quite strong." I stated.

My lady ran towards it, and she soon disappeared into the darkness.

"Wait! My lady it could be dangerous!!" I exclaimed.

Suddenly there was a shriek.

"Aaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!"

"My lady!!" I yelled.

I ran toward the screams, I entered the room and gasped.

There was a large claw markings across the room covered in blood, but it wasn't a normal claw marking it was her claws that marked the room with blood.

I looked at my lady she was terrified her hand over her mouth as she trembled in fear.

"Wh-wha-what is this?! It can't be a human who did this it couldn't be?! What is this!!!" She stuttered.

"I don't know my lady maybe an experiment?" I assumed.

I knew well what this was it wasn't an experiment it was her and her claws that dismembered and killed a poor soul in this room.

"Maybe an animal did this? But what animal could do something like this?!" My lady stated.

".....unless it was an experiment gone wrong maybe it rebelled and killed the workers." She assumed.

"It could possibly be that my lady." I said.

"Then if it escaped it means the people in of London and Britain are in possible danger." She said.

"...."

"Luke that concludes today's investigation tomorrow we'll go to the hospitals and asylums to interview the survivors and to see if this wasn't just an accident."

"Yes, my lady."

Meanwhile Sebastian's POV

My lord was sitting in his study doing company paperwork, when he suddenly called me.

"Sebastian."

"Yes my lord, what may I assist you?" I asked.

"It's about Cynthia and her investigation it bothers me that her father owned that laboratory and the accident she mentioned."

"What are you assuming my lord?" I asked.

"The accident and Catherine's death have to be linked up somehow she died near the laboratory and the details of the accident sound as if this wasn't just a regular chemical experiment gone wrong Catherine had a reason more specifically she had something to do at that laboratory and died later on that bridge but how is what bothers me."

My eyes narrowed. "That means Catherine's death wasn't a suicide but a murder instead."

My blood started boiling this means I didn't kill her it wasn't my fault I didn't bring her to this someone else did someone else killed her and I was determined to find out who's responsible for it.

My lord looked at me and nodded. "Exactly someone knew of Catherine's existence and of her powers besides us and the hospital and her death are just clues we need to dig deeper if we want to find her killer. Sebastian this means that I'll be joining Cynthia's investigation from now on find out the details of the accident and give me names of the scientists and people who were working we will interview them tomorrow." He said

I bowed. "Yes, my lord."

Hooray I updated this book I have been in a serious of updating but I have been writing lately I just haven't published yet I will get around to doing it this week.

This book is gonna get interesting from this point on so keep reading to find out what happens next.
