Night

"Sorry Ny. We got nothing." Quil said. "That's okay keep looking. Has anyone seen Emma?" I asked. "No and she was on my search party." Embry said. "If you find her later tell me." I said and went to check on my mate.

"Night thank god we found you. Your mate has gone crazy." Erika said. I was there in a flash. I put my hands on his shoulders and he calmed down. "What did Jared do?" I asked. "This time it was Emily. She scared him." Jared said. Emily was crying in a corner. I was torn between my best friend and my mate. "I....I don't know what happened. I'm sorry." He said. "This happens to a lot more wolves than most people think. I freaked out when I first saw her." Jared said. "Kim." I said. She smacked him and left. Jared ran after her. "Sentimental fool." I muttered. "Am not" Jared's muffled yell came. I took my hands off of my mate's shoulders and sat down. "What am I?" he asked. "Well what is your name anyway?" I asked. "Erik." He said. "Erik you're a werewolf. I'm one, Seth, Erika, Michelle, and Uncle Gustav are too." I said. "You told me earlier we were mates. What did you mean?" he asked. "That's tricker to explain. Mate is sort of like the werewolves word for soulmate. But it's stronger than that. You can't find it in your heart to harm them and if someone harms them you want to make sure it doesn't happen again. When they are in pain you are too. You can feel if they are hurt or betray you." I said.

A few hours later

Erik was afraid to take his mask off. "Oh come on most of us have seen Emily. Ow!" I slapped Seth. "We won't judge. Cause Night'll kill us if we do." Leo said. I glared at him. He whimpered. "See. She has that effect on wolves." Seth said. Kim hit him for me. "Thank you Kim. At least one of us has their priorities straight." I said glaring at the guys. "Wolf pup." Leo muttered. "That's it." I launched myself at him. I kicked his furry ass. Erik stifled his laughter.

"If it makes you feel better they can leave." I said. He nodded. "Seth, Leo, Jared, Kim please leave." I said. Leo and Seth stayed sitting. I grabbed Leo's ear and Kim grabbed Seth's. We walked them out of the room. I shut the door as I walked in. He sucked in a breath and slowly removed his mask. His face was swollen and scarred and beautiful in my eyes. I was angry at whoever did this to him but I kept it in. I kissed him. He seemed shocked. I broke it. "So beautiful." I said. He smiled. "You really do care." He said. "Of course I do. You complete me." I kissed him again.
