Liden settled with reading books and traveling the world. The chaos didn't start until Rian's enemies grew in numbers. Rian had multiple failed assination attempts directed to him. During the night Liden awoke to someone shaking him roughly. He opened his eyes. He opened his mouth only to be hushed. The air was still and Rian had a panicked look on his face. "Rian?" " What are you doing here?" Liden asked, confused. "Listen to me please!" "There's no time left!" "I have a plan to end this," Rian whispered.

"So what does that have to do with me?!" Liden said feeling annoyed. Rian's eyes widened. "Are you being serious right now?!" "Our city is in danger and you're so heartless that you don't care?!" Rian said, his voice rising. Liden was now on his feet and got up in Rian's face saying "You've always been like this!" "Making decisions without considering how others feel!" "Did you even know how I felt when people mistook me for you?!" "YEARS AND YEARS OF TRYING ONLY TO NEVER GET ANY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT!" "It was already bad enough dealing with rumors about me being a bastard child!"

Rian cut him off. "Shut up" "How selfish are you?" "Did you really think that I enjoyed that?!" "The moment that you show any promise of potentially being an Emperor, people will force their expectations onto you and if you fail in anything, you have to live with the stares for years to come!" "I'd have traded places with you if I could!" Liden fell silent at the sight of Rian crying. He watched helplessly and mumbled apologies over and over again. Liden sighed. "This is not good" "Let's hear about this plan of yours then" Liden said.

Rian nodded and wiped his tears. "We look pretty similar, so I was thinking we'll swap places and you'll act like me for a few days" "Meanwhile I'll gather allies that want to overthrow my enemies just as much as I do" "Well, what do you think?"

Liden looked at him straight in the face and said bluntly "No one is allowed to impersonate royalty whether they're royalty or peasants themselves" "If I get caught, I'll be hanged" Rian listened to his rant and when Liden was done, he promised not to compromise Liden's safety. "This might fail horribly, but I'll try," Liden said, looking away. Rian looked at his brother in surprise. "What? Don't look at me like that" "I'm not that terrible!"

Liden took a deep breath in and continued. "Besides you're right and I don't want anybody here to perish," Liden stated. Rian spoke after being silent. "When this is over, promise me you'll be alive?" Liden nodded looking unsure and smiled weakly. Although it was a weak smile it was still a genuine one. The two apologized to each other and grew close once again.
