Jane, Petra and Sierra stood next to each other as they waited for their names to be called. The looked up to Professor McGonagall who smiled down at all the student in front of him and began to unscroll the paper. Sierra held her breath not wanting to be the first one to stand up by the stool, but with the last name being Black, her name was the first to be called.
"Good luck, mate," Jane whispered before Sierra slowly walked up to the podium and sat down. Her eyes scanned the tables, landing right where her cousins were sitting. Right under the flag of Slytherin, the two boys staring right into her. It didn't take long before the Sorting Hat called out the house and the mummers amongst students began. Sierra made eye contact with Jane and grinned as she stood up and made her way to the table of her house. She shook hands with her housemates and paid attention to the sorting, wanting to know where her 2 new friends were going to end up. Sierra smiled at the girl with light brown hair as she sat right in front of her being the third student to be sorted into the same house. The girl smiled softly and looked down at her hands, leaving Sierra to wonder if she had trouble accepting being sorted into the house.
"Petra Pettigrew." SIerra looked up, smiling at her friend as they all waited for the hat to sort her. The minute felt long, impossible to not be nervous. Students began to mummer as Petra was 30 seconds away from being called a Hat Stall.
"I wonder whats going on." The girl in front of her whispered. Sierra nodded in agreement, switching the position of her legs as another minute passed.
"GRYFFINDOR!" The Gryffindor table cheered and clapped as they had gotten another member. Sierra laughed and called Petra over and hugged her from the side, congratulating her.
"Jane is next." She said. Sierra and Petra looked over at their friend, crossing their fingers that she too would be sorted in the same house. It was not a full minute before the Sorting Hat had once again, called out the house of the Lion. Sierra and Petra cheered the loudest as Jane made her way towards the table and hugging the two girls.
"This house is in for a big bang," Jane whispered as the sorting continued.
"They're going to wish we weren't sorted here."
"Is it really necessary to start making plans already? I would like to have at least some of food before I start thinking so much." Petra complained, looking at her empty plate as her stomach growled in agreement.
"Petra, you had a ton of pumpkin pastries on the train."
"But it was not regular food. Those were snacks, not course meals." Jane and Sierra looked at each other and shrugged their shoulder before their own stomach growled for food. "See, I have a point."
"Let's just hope that the Headmistress won't take too long with her speech."
"Merlin, have mercy on us."

Once the food had appeared on the table, the three girls did not waste any time to fill up their bellies to the max. Petra looked at her almost overflowing plate when a ghost appeared from the food, making her flip her dish right to the face of another housemate, clearly older than her.
"Oh my.. I'm so sorry."
"Hello, Sir. Nicholas." The now food drenched student mumbled as he cleaned himself with a simple spell.
"Well hello, Mr.Wood. Pleasent summer?" He nodded and eyed Petra from the corner of his eyes as she had begun to grab more food on another plate.
"Nice one, Pete." Sierra snickered, earning herself a chicken leg thrown her way. Jane laughed, trying to cover herself and arms spread out in front of Petra.
"She's innocent! Don't attack the Royal Food Thrower." Sierra nodded and put down the spoonful of mashed potatoes before bowing down to Petra, who couldn't contain her giggles.
"At you service, my lady. You have shown excellent traits on food throwing. I am forever in your services." The rest of the table looked at the three girls as they laughed loudly, throwing each other peas and other small foods. Sierra looked over the table where her cousins sat, just for their eyes to scream traitor. And while she accepted that the look in their eyes reminded her much of her mother's, Sierra ignored the sudden drop of her stomach and joined the laughter of her two friends.
She was dreading on the letter she had to write, in fact, once she went to the dormitories. WIthout saying goodnight, and quickly changing into her pyjamas, Sierra laid down in bed and slept. Wishing that the laughter she had just shared was all a dream and would wake up in the dungeons of Slytherin.
