Chapter-4: Truthful Confession In The Dark Resting Parlour?
He knew that making Nawel angrier than this would do no good to him but he found it unfair that the elder was the one to cheat on him first and now scaring him as if he had that right on him.
Farris bit his lower lips trying to control his tears as he didn't want to cry in front of the elder but to his demise that salty liquid dripped down from the corner of his eyes and to the quilt wetting it.
Nawel clenched his jaw seeing him in tears, he gently wiped them with his thumb,
"I am telling you this honestly, so listen carefully. I didn't cheat on you either that day or any time. I have only loved you ever since."
Farris started crying loudly, hearing it.
"Why, what happened now?"
Nawel was confused seeing him break down.
"So you *hic* loved me, huh? That means...*hic* you don't love *hic* me anymore?"
Farris asked, sobbing.
Nawel closed his eyes hearing such a stupid question and opened his eyes.
"If I don't love you anymore, I wouldn't have taken this much effort to come here to explain myself like this, Farris."
"You...*hic* are you telling me the truth? But I saw you and him on the bed, together. You also told me lies to meet up with that junior of yours. Why do you have to lie to me when you were just tutoring him?"
Farris looked suspiciously at the elder even though he was crying.
"Ugh, that's my biggest mistake. Listen, I hid the fact that I was tutoring my junior because... that money I got from it... I wanted to buy you that Gucci suit you wanted at that time, remember that floral blue one you saw in the store while we were walking down the street after our date night?"
Farris instantly remembered it cause at that time his Father was angry at him and blocked all his cards so he couldn't buy them.
And he told Nawel how much he wanted to wear it on his birthday.
"I wanted to surprise you with that suit on your birthday. And that was why I had to lie to you to go for tutoring. I wanted to see your amazed expression and your precious boxy smile, Farris... that was what I wanted but..."
Nawel paused as he got up from the bed with a sad expression on his face.
"I didn't know that the surprise would end up breaking us apart."
Farris noticed the sincere disappointment in the elder's eyes. He got up and hugged him,
"Sorry, Nawel... *hic* I am sorry... I should've listened to you when you tried to explain *hic*... I was such a fool... *hic*... I-I..."
Nawel sighed as he hugged back the younger,
"Farris, you don't have any idea how much I was hurt seeing you with other men. I am sorry I became physical with you after losing my temper but it wasn't my intention. You know... I can never see you with anyone else. You are mine... Farris.."
"That's my fault. I shouldn't have done that to provoke you. Now I am the one who cheated on you... Nawel...*hic* ... please, forgive me..."
Farris broke down feeling guilty for suspecting Nawel and never listening to him even when the elder tried everything to talk to him.
"You know when you slapped me and said let's break up... I thought I died at that moment. I understood at that time how angry you got seeing me making out... but I couldn't see either your love or hurt at that time due to my ego, Nawel."
"I didn't want to break up with you, Farris. I just got furious at that time and said those words. I still regret it, I should have just taken the chance to explain myself clearly to you just like now but I didn't. It's my fault too, I am sorry," Nawel apologized.
They stayed like that for a few more minutes before,
"And Nawel..."
"Hm?" Nawel loosened his grip.
"To make things clear, I didn't whore around... I just made out with some men but when I saw their thing... I lost all interest. They were all so small."
Farris broke the hug and pouted saying that nonsense with a serious expression.
Nawel mentally facepalmed himself hearing the younger,
"Farry, shut up that nonsense before I punish you for putting your mouth in other men's mouths."
Farris acted like zipping his mouth.
Nawel shook his head, "But you did wrong to your friend Evren, Farris. You took advantage of his weakness and took out all the anger of me on him. He didn't deserve that."
Farris downcasted, "I... know..."
He paused, "I became paranoid after breaking up with you. I don't think he will ever forgive me, Nawel. I tortured him mentally in the name of our friendship."
"Glad that you realized your mistakes. But you still have to apologize to him and forgiving you or not depends on him entirely."
Farris caressed the younger's cheek.
"Yes, Nawel. I will do as you say."
Farris agreed as he pulled the elder onto the bed and cuddled him. Nawel smiled as he hugged him tight.
Meanwhile...
Deimos walked towards the bar counter and took a seat beside Evren who paid no attention to him as he was in his own miserable state trying to forget everything he had been going through.
Evren just wanted to live a normal student life but it never happened. Every time he thought things were going to be better from here on, tables turned all the time and he had to suffer relentlessly.
"Evren..." Deimos called, softly.
Evren's ears perked up as soon as he heard the voice. His honey-brown irises expanded, and his lips trembled.
He became nervous to look at the person whose voice sounded so familiar that he exactly knew who was calling him but dared not to turn his head.
Deimos placed his big muscular hand on the smaller's shoulder gently as he took his name again.
"Evren?"
The hands that were holding the glass of tequila trembled as he confirmed the person was exactly who he was thinking but he was shocked and flustered at the same as to why that man was calling him.
Evren took a deep breath before he met with the person's eyes that were looking at him endearingly, he felt as if something huge was stuck in his throat,
"You..."
"I saw you drinking here all alone and I am feeling lonely too in this loud night. How about we go to a quiet place and have some drinks together? Would you mind coming with me?"
Evren requested in a soft tone extending his hand and when the smaller seemed to be hesitant,
"...please?"
Deimos showed his puppy eyes and Evren felt like he couldn't breathe for a second, he nodded in a trance as he placed his palm on his.
He smiled and took Evren's hand, intertwined their fingers, and started walking upstairs where there was a resting parlor almost no one would go there since they were pretty busy fucking around each other, drowning in the alcohol.
As he was walking upstairs along with Deimos he felt piercing stares on his back and so he looked back to notice the three men who were Farris's ex-playmates and his present bullies in the University.
Evren froze in fear as he saw one of them mouthing,
"If you don't do as we planned, your sister in the hospital will suffer instead of you."
Tears welled up in the corner of his eyes as he tried to control his emotions and nodded at them.
Feeling that the smaller's palms were becoming cold, Deimos squeezed their palms together as he looked back,
"You are freezing, what happened?"
Deimos asked with a concerned expression.
"N-No... it's just,"
Evren couldn't speak, and hearing the other's gentle voice he felt like breaking down but he gulped down his sorrow and shook his head.
"It's okay. Let's hurry in. There is hearth inside the room,"
Deimos informed as he walked past the people holding Evren's hand tightly.
They got inside the room and it was very spacious but dark. The only source of light is from the hearth in the room.
There was a big couch near the fireplace and a table full of drinks and snacks.
Deimos slowly untwined their hands, took out his outer coat, and placed it on Evren's shoulder.
He walked towards the fireplace and saw if it needed any more wood.
Seeing that everything was working fine,
"Come here, Evren."
Deimos patted the seat beside him as he sat on the couch.
Evren clasped onto the coat tightly sitting beside him. Deimos smiled at him before turning his gaze to the drinks in front of him.
He opened a bottle of champagne and poured them into two glasses.
He handed over one to Evren and clanked the glass with his,
"Cheers."
"...cheers,"
Evren muttered as he took a sip of it.
Just before he had a good amount of tequila shots. He was about to become tipsy but the call from Deimos sobered him up.
"You... how do you know my name?"
Evren asked, a little hesitant as he never introduced himself to him, and most importantly they never crossed paths with each other.
"You are famous and everyone in the University knows about you so do I."
Deimos kept the answer simple.
"Not more than you," Evren commented.
Deimos chuckled at that remark, "So you do know me, huh?"
"Who doesn't, I..."
Evren's eyes sparkled a little with excitement before he remembered something and stopped himself from speaking further.
>>>I suppose, I am more popular than the protagonists of the novel, now...
Deimos felt proud of himself that by choosing the path to become the main lead of his life and not staying as an extra anymore he gained the attention of his crush which he couldn't do in his past life.
>>>I killed all the birds with one stone. Thanks to the god whoever it was for giving me another chance to live.
Deimos was in his thoughts when Evren suddenly climbed over his lap startling him,
"E-Evren...?"
The glass of beer he was drinking fell to the floor and broke into pieces as he heard,
"I love you, Deimos..."
By Evren who smelled like sweet tequila.
"..."
Deimos didn't say anything for a good one minute. His eyes darkened as a nerve popped out on his clenched jaw.
"I didn't reckon you to be this sort of person, Evren."
His voice was colder than the wintery night outside.
Evren's lips quivered as his heartbeat started being frenzy.
"I didn't want to..."
He mumbled biting his lips as a tear slipped from his right eye to his cheek which was unnoticed by Deimos who was trying to control his anger.
Deimos pushed away the smaller and got up. Before leaving,
"I know what you have planned with those three from the start. But I hoped you wouldn't do it."
He sighed disappointedly and continued,
"Why? Is it such fun for you to play with others' feelings? Ha... what did I even expect from you?"
Evren stood up as his heart thundered hearing that Deimos already knew of his plan but still, he wanted to avoid confrontation so,
"I... I don't know what you are talking about."
Deimos gritted his teeth as he stepped forward and in an instant grabbed the smaller's chin tightly,
"I didn't know you were such a shameless person."
>>>Ha... what did I even see him in my past life to love him? Is it because I was just influenced by the novel's plot? Were my feelings for him true?
>>>How did I love such a person who doesn't care about others feelings?
"Yesterday evening, before the last bell, I was passing by in the corridor of the business management building. I was waiting for the elevator on the third floor but it wasn't working so I thought to take the stairs,"
Deimos paused as he saw Evren's complexion becoming pale.
"I heard four students talking about me. So I stopped in my tracks, it wasn't my intention to eavesdrop but I heard them talking about how to screw me over in the fresher's party."
Evren's legs started trembling, he couldn't meet Deimos's eyes at all, feeling guilty.
"They were talking about a bet. A bet where I would be confessed by one of them and they would make a move on me which would be filmed by the other three and the next day it would spread in the University like wildfire ruining my reputation, making me lose my scholarship and in the end it will wreck me up completely."
Deimos's face darkened as he continued,
"They were planning to do all this just because I was too arrogant for them and didn't like my cocky behavior. What amazed me is that the person who confesses and fucks me over would be given a million won, that's such a hefty sum."
Deimos's grip tightened on the smaller's chin,
"Do you know who those students were?"
Evren shook his head as tears started to fall continuously.
"You don't?"
Deimos snickered, "But I saw you signing those three when we were walking upstairs, did I just imagine it?"
His voice was intimidating enough to make the smaller shiver.
"Don't worry, I have already taken care of those three."
Deimos left the smaller and looked at his watch,
"By now they would have been beaten blue and black by my security team."
Just then he got a call, "Right on time," Deimos answered the call, "Hello."
"Deimos, everything has been taken care of. You don't need to worry about these bastards anymore,"
Cyrus Karraelas, the chief of the security team informed as he was watching his subordinates beating them.
"Thank you, brother Cyrus."
Deimos cut the call with that and looked at Evren who was as pale as a ghost.
"Now, what should I do with you? Should I leave you to my security team to teach you a lesson for trying to fuck me up?"
Deimos's voice was playfully threatening.
Evren didn't say anything and just downcasted with tears in his eyes.
Deimos balled his fists as he felt anger surging through him. Actually, in this life, he didn't want to involve himself with the protagonists of the novel.
Especially, with Evren as his feelings for him were too deep that the second he met him, he would lose all control over his life and become a fool for him just like in his past life.
So he tried to avoid every situation and that was also the reason why he didn't go to Deizor highschool where Evren would be studying and went to Riceyeras international school.
He took music and arts as his major in the Ravaryn University as he knew Evren would be in the Business Management department and even though they would be in the same University, the probability of meeting him would be less than zero.
But after the talk with Nawel at the Wisteria cafe, he had to get involved as he didn't want his favorite senior brother to lose his love like him when he had the potential.
So he thought he would just help Nawel separate Farris and Evren to create the chance to talk with him alone.
Deimos then planned to just talk with Evren for one last time before moving on from his feelings for him but the day before the fresher's party...
He was called by his homeroom teacher who was in the meeting hall located in the Business Administration Department's building.
Accidentally, he heard the conversation between Evren and the three more students.
He became angry at himself for loving such a person who doesn't have any value for love.
So he decided to teach those students and Evren a lesson but deep inside his heart he decided that if the smaller didn't start it, he would leave him be.
He deliberately went to Evren and took him to the room where they planned to execute their vicious plan.
He wasn't expecting Evren to be the person to confess just to get the money from their bet.
Till then he was praying to every God that Evren wouldn't do it but as soon as he heard those three magical words that came out of the smaller's mouth which he always dreamt of in his past life... all he could feel was disgust.
He never thought the person he loved the most would turn out to be such a despicable one.
"Don't be scared. I won't do anything to you..." Deimos paused.
>>>As I have loved you once...
Evren looked up as heard it with complex emotions on his face. Deimos turned to leave the room when the smaller weakly tugged the hem of Deimos's sleeve, stopping him from moving further.
"I... I really do love you, Deimos. It's the truth, I didn't lie," Evren mumbled.
Deimos became enraged hearing it,
>>>He is still trying to fool me?
He turned back to slap the smaller for trying to deceive him till the end but his hand was stopped in mid-air as he saw Evren's heartbroken expression.
Evren was crying silently. Those were not just some fake tears to cover up his guilt but the tears of a person in despair void of all hope.
