I was just folding my jacket and clothes from today after I got changed but heard a faint crinkling sound. I then pressed around the jacket to finally feel something around the pocket area. I reached my hand into it to pull out a half-dry cupcake wrapper.

So I wasn't delusional.

How would I be able to explain to anyone anyway, but now, at least I had proof, I had proof I wasn't insane or had gone nuts. First, I had to find the only person who could prove I wasn't delusional.

Dipper.

The guy left me alone with Gideon and his friends to look like some whacko who lost her mind on her birthday. Not that I knew his intentions were pure or not, I knew better than to act on my own.

The next day, I returned to school as normal, trying to figure out how I could find Dipper.

Since Gideon and I normally walked to school, for the duration I was in Reverse Falls obviously, we made up and he said sorry for what he said the day before.

'I can't believe I said that, I'm so sorry Pacifica.' Gideon hung his head in shame, while I gave him a pat on the back.

'It's alright.'

'Happy late Birthday to you anyway, I can't believe you didn't tell any of us it was your birthday, we could have at least been a bit...'

'Nicer?'

'I guess.'

'It's alright, it's chill, okay? Let's just drop the topic for now. What's gone is gone, we can't fix what already happened.' I smiled with my teeth showing.

'Okay okay. I'm just really sorry for the way I was so insensitive and the way I treated you.'

"And I forgive you for it, so let's drop this.'

'Okay, Paz.'

We continued walking to school, I started to ask Gideon some questions about Cody, he was pretty chill about it and answered without asking too many questions.

'Yup, he's around two years older than me?'

'That's kinda weird.' I gave a remark, looking back at Gideon, who didn't seem to take any note of it.

'Not really, the guy's Candy's brother. She's in my year and normally hangs around with that Mabel girl at school, but I promise she's much nicer if you get to know her. Promise.'

Gideon held up a pinkie, I half-heartedly intertwined my pinkie with him as well. Even though Candy was all smiles and things with Gideon, that weird and awkward glare said something else. It just warded me off and there was something very wrong with her.

'Fine, but you guys get along like crazy.' I said, lightening up the mood again and striking the conversation up in the air.

'Boys and boys. We connect y' know?'

'Sure.' I narrowed my eyes sarcastically.

'You two get along perfectly fine too. What's up with you and him? Seems like you got some kind of vendetta against him.'

'We chatted about y' know, things. Small things.' I emphasised 'things' and hopefully that told Gideon to not be nosy.

'What things?'

'Things that don't need your minding. Anyway, the last one to school is a mouldy Dorito!' I shouted at him, then started to head towards school gates with Gideon catching on my tracks.

'Pacifica!' He shouted behind me.

'Eat dirt loser!' I stuck out my tongue at Gideon and got a very funnily angry grunt in return.

I was about 10 yards from school before a black-haired figure stopped me.

'Owwww- oh, Cody?' I stopped an inch from him before I could crash into him, lifting my head to see him.

'Well hello, Pacifica.' Cody beamed warmly as I shuffled backwards awkwardly away from him.

'Back at'chu.' I gave a graceless chuckle and gave him some finger guns out of nervousness.

'Nice.' He replied, I hoped he didn't sense how weird this conversation was going. I nodded. Then something popped into my head that I absolutely had to say. It was also one of the most stupid things I've said.

'So, you come here often?' I let the sentence slip through my mouth without a second thought, only stopping to think what I'd said at my last word. I mentally facepalmed myself frustratedly.

Cody looked at me for a second, confusion written all over his face, this made me freeze up on the spot. I probably looked a fish out of water. While I was panicking on the inside, he then gave a wholehearted smile and laughed.

'We're at school, silly.' Cody laughed, rubbing the back of his head.

'Oh! Right!' I giggled. Gideon was now standing parallel to me with a weirded out gaze. I needed to get out of here as soon as possible. With a fierce movement of my eyes, Gideon got the signal and dragged me out of there.

'Look who's the mouldy Dorito now.' Gideon teased, pointing his finger at me.

I made a face and stuck my tongue out at Gideon before he left to go with some friends. I saw the school in a new light now, it was a bit brighter than before, more opportunities here, more friends to be made there. I was just looking around as if I had never been here before.

I felt someone bump me on my shoulder, it was Candy and Grenda, they looked at me weirdly as they walked past.

'Sorry!' Grenda waved her hand at me while she walked away.

Sorry?

'Or something!' Candy added, giving Grenda a hard slap on her arm, Grenda winced but said nothing.

Now that's more like them.

Classes went by in a haze.

I waited until the end of 4th period to go out. It was lunch by then and I could use the time to grab a quick bite of food and try to find Dipper. I didn't even know to look first, he could be anywhere. Not because he could somehow fly or something, I don't know, but he could walk too, I was still to decide what type of 'thing' he was.

I rushed into a small shop and got a sandwich, then dashed out hurriedly. Until I realised I didn't know how to look or where to look, that I froze up on the street. People started walking past and looked at me strangely. I just held my bag and food up close to me.

Then a thought came to me, that I could perhaps use the help of the passerbys, the could find him for me. I could ask for clues, or where they had seen him last.

I was about to ask a knowledgable- looking woman when a hand grabbed me forcefully by the wrist and dragged me away from the main street.

It seemed to me, trouble found me before I could find trouble.
