Did he just kidnapped me!

The sun has gone to rest hours ago, allowing the clutches of darkness to descend while street lights sprang to life.

It's evening, the streets are still buzzing with people, chattering voices embellished with laughter and happiness.

The festival has just begun.

I walked at a leisurely pace, admiring my surroundings with interest.

Shops were stuffed and the shopkeepers hollering loudly, trying to attract people's attention, the streets were  extremely narrow, forcing people to push each other in order to arrive at their destination early.

The taverns are filled with drunken laughter, the clinking of cups as it came in contact with one another in a toast- is as loud as a screeching angry female, people swaying clumsily to the music as the booze they consumed got to their head, with their cheeks tainted rosy-red like a shy maiden in the presence of her courageous knight.

The vendors hopping from one customer to another, showing them their greatest possession in hopes of gaining a good sum of money.

Families are mingling, couples are basking in each other embrace, children participating in games and activities...it was a night full of jubilation.

Everyone was having a good time enjoying their night and celebrating while outside of Konoha people are dying, suffering and being tortured by formidable foes and no one care.

People here are partying and having fun, while others who don't have such luxury are fighting for their lives against a menacing enemy; life.

Just like I once did.

Give them a chance, not all people are bad. Besides, they have a right to be happy, dont you think? A voice in the back of my mind surfaced.

Fūck off, no one is good anymore. Just look at them! Animals in disguise, the lot of them!

I cant believe in goodness anymore, the world looks bleak and void. I hurt.

I suffered in silence when my mother and sister were brutally murdered, no one stretched a hand to help.

Even though when that happened, I was not living in Konoha, but still, it was the same, my home was located on the outskirt of a village just like this one: happy, peaceful, innocent, but its cruelty and ugliness unvieled when I sought out their aid.

When I regained consciousness, I immediately ran there and tried to get help. It was evening and the place was buzzing with happiness- excluding mine- I begged, sobbed and tried to get them to help me, but no one cared, no one spared me a glance.

I was sticky with died blood and dirt, I was amazed that I was still alive by the amount of blood I shed- I still wonder how I survived the fatal injuries on my back- the only reaction I got were disgusted glances and a smack on the cheek for ruining a high ranked man's shirt with blood when I grabbed him and begged him for help.

My acute sense of hearing caused my ears to bleed from the amount of laughter, I felt my insides flip and roll in disgust...

This fakeness sickens me! I scrunched my nose in distaste and urged my legs to walk faster towards my apartment while I quelled the memories to leave me be.

The meeting with that foul-mouth Tsunade was exhausting, I managed to remonstrate about the presence of the anbu's surrounding me like annoying flies.

She is so stubborn and infuriating.

She snorted, cussed and even tried to snap my neck, but I got out of there in one piece. Thankfully.

I'm not witless, though, I know she kept some anbu's to keep an eye on me, in a matter of fact, there are two anbu's following me right now.

Its been like this since her outburst and the incident three weeks ago.

They think by lurking and being one with the shadows, I will not see them. If I were a commoner or a mere ninja...yes, this would've probably worked on me, but they underestimate me and that's going to be their downfall since I can detect their presence and identify it even if they hide their chakra.

I have an acute sense that helps me detect any kind of chakra no matter how professional a ninja in hiding theirs, I can always sense it. You see only corpses don't have chakra because they are dead, so they are void of energy, but animals, plants, and humans all of them have different amount of chakra and I was always able to distinguish them- even though I don't know how.

Underestimating me will imperil them for sure.

I chuckled wickedly at the thought of proving them how pathetically powerless they are, that will bring shame to the most powerful division in Konoha, anbu's.

My hard expression and menacing pace drove the people surrounding me to move frantically.

I was heading toward my apartment when I felt a presence behind me.

"Hey am I dead, angel? Cause this must be heaven,"

What the actual fūck! I turned around to find none other than dog boy.

"Cant you see, it's hell!" I snorted at him, gestered at the festival going around and then crossed my arms in front of my chest looking grumpy.

He stared at me for what felt like hours, but it was mere seconds, then smirked, "do you have a map? I just keep on getting lost in your eyes, "

What is he doing?

"Seriously, what the fūck is wrong with you?" I questioned with a frown.

"Oh, baby, I'm a thief and I'm here to steal your heart," he grinned at me, his eyes filled with mischief.

"Are you drunk dog boy?" I  glared at him im disbelief and alarm. If so, why is he pestering me? Is there no one else for him to annoy?! The place is packed, let him take his pick.

"Nah, I'm perfectly sober, just in love," he batted his eyelashes coyly, "if I followed you, would you keep me?"

"Err...huh,"

Seeing my flustered expression and blushing cheeks, he burst into a heartful laugh. "You look cute sweetcheeks, relax, I'm just messing with you. The name is kiba by the way."

A curious vexation fretted me as I gazed at the cute yet annoying boy infront of me.

"Say, what are you doing here alone, love. It's a day of joy, why are you not mingling with these happy people and having fun?" He suggested, slinging his arm around my shoulders as if we were old friends.

I shrugged his arm, and said: "don't touch me. Have you already forgotten our first encounter?"

He grinned, "how could I forget sweetcheeks, it's the day my heart fluttered for the first time,"

I made a gagging sound and walked away from him, ignoring him calling after me.

"Hey, you didn't answer my question?"

"I dont like mingling with people alright, this exuberance makes me want to vomit!"

He caught up to me and matched my stride. "But thats not healthy Eve, you cant keep avoiding people and not having fun once in a while."

"Fun is a waste of time." I replied tersly. "I dont recall giving you my name?"

"You cant really mean that. You  cant be serious and work all the time. You need to have fun, go out with griends, cuddle with a lover...you cant stay on your own. And naruto told me."

Of course, it has to be that big mouthed naruto! Wait till I get my hands on you!

I stopped and turned to him. "I can and I will, watch me!"

I turned back and left him standing...or so I thought.

He grabbed my hand in both of his catching my attention. I looked at his hands, so big and soft enveloping mine, contemplating how best to get rid of his touch when he spoke, "Its okay to depend on someone once in a while, there is no shame and weakness in that. Its okay to give in a little and live!"

My eyes dragged up and met his, sencirity and earnest gleaming clear in his eyes.

"What do you want from me?" I sighed, tired.

"Have a drink with me?" He saw my eyebrow rise at his words, he continued, "just this time and I promise you I will not bother you again. Hmm, what do you say?"

I looked at him, really looked at him. All sort of fun and mischiviousness are absent from his eyes, he's serious!

But why? He doesnt even know me? What's in it for him?

"Maybe later, I'm really tired and would like to go home." I saw his shoulders sagg and his head lower in defeat, "tomorrow, maybe?"

"Yeah, tomorrow it is!" He immediatly perked up and grinned.

I turned and left, this time he didnt come after me, knowing that tomorrow we shall meet again.

A

little less than a month have passed since encountering sasuke. That incident have left me more agitated than ever.

I was angry at the loss of  opportunity that slipped right through my fingers, at the people who claimed to be my teammates only to stand against me when the time for reaping came, at the stupid hokage for keeping me under surveillance...at the stupid world!

Hence, I shut down every and all attempts for them to communicate with me - mostly naruto and kiba - Sai and sakura as well as yamato didnt seem to care.

The lack of missions eased the process. I kept myself locked up, not receiving any visits - not that I got many, only the occasional drop by from an anbu or naruto whose determination waned at the end until he didnt come anymore - and only going out when absolutly necessary.

I arrived at my apartment, feeling relieved, not withstanding the crowded place in the village and dog lover - kiba. I unlocked the door and entered.

Immediately, I was bombarded with an overbearing sense of danger that sprang my stance in alert.

The darkness that coaxed the place, subsided by the faint light of a lantern lit facing my window, it allowed the abscission of a person from it.

Standing in the most ghastly manner, the abominable man with eyes as black as death, with sharpness unfathomable to an average person stared at me with an undeniable determination.

The faint light illuminated his figure showing his pale skin that contrasts his dark charcoal hair.

"We meet again," the miscreant voiced his thoughts.

"So it seems," said I, with a stern unwelcoming voice.

"Kiba looks good, you and him having fun?" He asked sarcastically mocked.

"None of your fūcking business," I said.

"I came to retrieve what's mine." He said maliciously, dropping the mockery.

"I have nothing that belongs to you. What are you doing here in my place? You are digging your own grave!" I spat in venom, notwithstanding his wretched presence, my hands are aching to be wrapped around his neck...squeezing the life out of him with great joy.

He tilted his head slightly in defiance, with a placid expression; his eyes hinting an unspoken challenge, coaxing me to attack...which I did with no hesitation.

I charged at him, going for the kill, if not, then maiming him for life will do for now.

We engaged in a battle of fists, punches and kicks.

He countered my attacks with elegance, swaying, and dancing, turning and flipping backward, which resulted in wrecking my apartment.

The walls cracked, the furniture is torn and flipped upside down, tables and chairs are now but broken pieces of useless wood, the roof looked like it was going to fall at any minute by the amount of chakra used and the ground threatened to fall under our feet, there was an enormous gaping hole in the wall which Sasuke took advantage of to lure me out, and it worked.

He ran with no vacillation, right and left avoiding the crowd and I ran after him with precision, never losing sight of him among the crowd for his aura is undeniably powerful.

I could feel the chakra of the anbu's that are following us, but due to our unquestionable speed, they straggled behind.

We ran until we reached a forest, we were no longer followed for the anbu's are way behind us scattered and lost- hopefully - we avoided the trees that aimed to slow us down with agility until we reached a clearing where the amount of trees diminished and a vast field of dried ground, with a few bushes here and there, spread for miles.

A mellifluous voice of the festival became a whisper, indicating that we are no longer close to the village.

He stopped suddenly and turned facing me with an outstretched smirk that only villains wear, he stood upright, a posture held together with arrogance.

"Foolish! You've given your back to the wolf, aren't you scared of being eaten alive?" he uttered with amusement.

"Scared" I scoffed, "this emotion will only bring a person to his doom, I'm thrilled and excited to end your life," I replied with my chin held up high.

"I want you to come with me." he said, all signs of amusement gone and replaced with seriousness.

"Really? And what makes you think I would?" I questioned, my thoughts fused with worry.

What is he up to?

"I want you to join my team. that's all I'm willing to reveal at the moment, so are you coming willingly or should I lend you a hand? "

He must be jesting! He knows how much I despise him and want him dead, so why the hell does he want me to join forces with him.

"You are absurd you know that. Aren't you afraid that I might betray you, stab you in your sleep or something? " I asked.

I will not let him evoke an emotional response from me, no matter how good his suggestion is, I'm not taking any chances.

"I'll take my chances," came his reply.

"I'll have to decline, I'm not interested."

"Thought so, you are as stubborn as a mule." he sighed in disappointment.

I was startled by a gust of wind that formed without notice, I barely managed to avoid his fist puncturing my back.

He didn't allow me to catch my breath and we engaged again in fighting. His indifferent attitude irked me as I was fighting with all I have yet he made it seem like it's child's play.

I managed to break off and did a couple of hand signs, summoning my ice powers.

"Spikes of death." I called forth my inner chakra and formed needles made from ice.

The-hand-length needle headed toward its target without deviation, he was able to avoid them but he gained few cuts that drew blood from his arm.

I smirked at the sight of blood flowing teasingly slow hence they are mere drops, but that's not the reason I'm satisfied.

He seemed to find something quarrelsome in my stance or facial expression for he enquired, "what are you so happy about? it's but a few drops of blood! Even though I congratulate you for succeeding in harming me - for just a bit - but that's the first time in what seemed like ever that someone was able to do such a thing," he said, his tone laced with sarcasm.

"You are insulting my intelligence, Sasuke," I said in a smug voice.

Before he could retort, I saw him grip his arm with a confused look and a hint of malaise.

"My-my Sasuke, are you feeling numb? Does your arm feel like the cold has frozen it to the core? I bet if I just cut it out for you, it will turn into frozen ice!" I laughed, finding humor in his pain.

He smirked in mirth, his eyes gleamed with the hunger that is unquenchable unless blood was drawn profusely.

It sent chills of uneasiness to invade my calm facade.

What's going on in that wicked mind of his?

"Well, play time is over kitten. This farce ends now!" he exclaimed.

Suddenly, the copy wheel eye was activated, his eyes turned a blend of black and red, blazing with hunger.

I was startled for a second, it took a blink...only a blink from me and I found him in front of me, grabbing me by the throat.

I felt my back burn by the force as he pushed me to the tree, but he didn't let go, his hand that is still holding my neck tightened.

I kicked frantically trying to get away from him, but I wasn't fast enough.

The last thing I heard before I blacked out was a faint whisper.

Sleep.
