❈ 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒓: 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕

Jeno stares at himself in the mirror, eyes stinging as he held back his tears, throat dry and feels like it's all clogged up while his head is spinning.

He's hurt. And his reflection can't hide anything.

He wants to be angry and scream at a certain someone, but at the same time he doesn't.

There's a part of him blaming himself for this, for liking his best friend to the point he thought they were dating, when in reality; they never were.

He grew feelings, feelings for Na Jaemin; his best friend for a long time. Someone who he grew up with and had gone close to– to the extent of being intimate.

He's conflicted on who's at fault here, however the side of him that's blaming no one else but himself is winning over.

Too focused on spacing out as his eyes were just straight up staring at the mirror in front of him in a school bathroom, he flinches when someone barges in calling his name.

"Jeno hyung?" Snapping his head to the direction of the voice and furrows his eyebrows at the newcomer. "Are you okay?"

Seeing Jisung's worried face as the younger boy walks closer to reach out to him, Jeno instinctively steps back and wipes his face with his sleeve.

"Uhm, yeah." He croaks out, stretching his lips to form a forced smile at his friend.

Jisung frowns, not liking Jeno's state right now. "You're lying." He said with no hesitation, not missing the way Jeno's eyes flicker away from him. "What happened back there?"

The raven haired boy swallows hard, pursing his lips and replies, "I don't even know." Voice almost inaudible for Jisung to hear.

Fortunately, the younger boy got it and doesn't pester him about it anymore– for now atleast.

Instead, he looks at Jeno so softly before he pulls the elder boy into his arms. Almost immediately, Jisung can feel the shorter body trembling.

"If you want to cry, it's okay, hyung." He whispers in Jeno's ear, rubbing his slumped back while at it.

Some other students come in and out the boys' bathroom, turning their heads at the two hugging boys in confusion.

But the said two boys don't pay attention to them, for one; Jeno currently not in the best state.

Jeno shakes his head on Jisung's shoulder, "I don't want to... Atleast right now at school." Words muffled due to his position.

The younger boy nods nonetheless, hugging him tighter to somehow comfort Jeno even more. "I understand, hyung. But don't bottle it up, please." He says.

The last part manages to get a chuckle from Jeno, pulling away from Jisung's shoulder to look up at him properly.

Meeting Jeno's eyes makes Jisung unconsciously smile, but with this close proximity, it results a pinkish color on his cheeks as well.

Luckily for him, Jeno doesn't comment about it. Either he doesn't want to bother Jisung with it or he didn't notice despite how close they currently are.

"I won't..." The raven haired boy mumbles as a sigh follows afterwards. "I just don't know how to feel right now– well, I kinda do but– I don't? Does that make sense?" Knitting his eyebrows.

Jisung blinks several times before shrugging his shoulders, "I sort of get what you mean, don't worry, hyung." He replies with a sweet smile.

The elder boy smiles back, although smaller and slightly forced, Jisung doesn't mind.

"But hyung, we all know you're not okay right now..." He couldn't help but bring up again. They can't just avoid the topic anyway.

Pausing, he rolls his eyes as a habit and adds on to his words. "Except for Jaemin hyung." A bite to his words.

"Jisungie." Jeno drawls out in a low tone, a warning for the younger boy to behave.

Chuckling sheepishly, Jisung clicks his tongue, "If you don't want to talk about it here at school, then it's okay."

"But we have to talk about it later," pouting his lips at the end.

Jeno then giggles and nods his head anyway, "we will," pondering in thought for a moment before saying. "At my house, after school."

Jisung happily hums in agreement, glad Jeno gave in and won't just shrug it off as if it was nothing.

"I'll tell Chenle in class later," he informs before asking. "But isn't Jaemin hyung going to walk you home? Like everyday?" A little confused.

Hearing his best friend's name has always made Jeno feel giddy inside, a tingling sensation to every part of his body that makes him somewhat happy.

But after what happened a few minutes ago before running off to the boys bathroom, Jeno isn't too sure if he's happy with the same giddy feeling he's getting now.

And Jisung noticed it, concerned about what the elder boy is thinking. Before he could change the topic, feeling low-key guilty for bringing this up, Jeno answers his question.

"He does," biting the inside of his cheek. "But you guys can come over a minute after. Just don't let him know." He adds.

Nodding off, they go through a moment of silence. With Jisung still hugging the elder boy closely in his arms, neither of them pushed away from the other.

Instead, they kept hugging each other as Jisung mumbles. "I'm sorry you have to go through this hyung."

Humming, Jeno leans the side of his face onto Jisung's shoulder again and nuzzles on it, as if trying to seek comfort and warmth.

It's not the same as Jaemin's comfort, but it works. Speaking of, he couldn't but start imagining.

What if it was Jaemin who barged in instead, running after him full of worry, realizing he has hurt Jeno.

What if it's Jaemin who's hugging him closely, who's comforting him like he usually does.

But Jeno remembers it's none of those. It's not Na Jaemin who's he's with right now. It's Park Jisung, the youngest guy in their friend group.

No offense to Jisung or anything, but Jeno just wishes it was Jaemin.

However, he doesn't complain at the end anyway, he's grateful for Jisung to comfort him if Jaemin can't.

God, Jeno feels so miserable.

Soon enough, the school bell rings. Indicating for the students to head to their next class.

Reluctantly, they pull away from each other and share a small smile, one of them has a more on sad feeling.

They then walk out the bathroom, seeing others running around the school hallway to head to whatever room they're assigned in.

With a pinch on his cheek, Jeno waves goodbye to Jisung. "See you." To which the younger boy had gave him a thumbs up.
