"I honestly don't know," Casper sits and buries his head in his palms as he takes a seat on the couch.

My heart drops as I sense his frustrations and anger through the mate bond and I take a seat beside him, rubbing his back.

There's a long period of silence and I assume that everyone is trying to think of a solution to this problem.

"I've done a terrible job protecting you and Javier haven't I?"

"No shit." Noel replies.

"Could you stop that noel." I snap at him and turn to face Casper.

"You haven't done a terrible job. You've done the best you can do and that's enough. This situation is just out of everyone's control and it's not your fault."

He doesn't say anything in reply to my words of comfort but he squeezes my hand and after a while, he stands up from the couch.

"We need to go to your grandparents."

"Why?"

"We obviously can't think of anything here. If we join heads with them, we might come up with a better solution."

Victor stops him, "We can't involve more people in this. We're putting them in trouble. Not just with the bastard who's hell bent on taking the soul of innocent children but also with the law.", He continues, "What do you think will happen to them if council of elders find out that we were involved in the hiding of a wanted woman?"

No one seems to have a reply.

"And you can't go to Martin, you'll be putting the royal family in trouble with the elders and the citizens. We can bear any punishment for protecting odetta but we can't involve more people."

There's silence for a while as everyone is seriously considering victor's words and Isabella speaks up rubbing victor's shoulder while looking at him, "I understand where you're coming from babe but if we can't think of anything good and odetta gets caught, we'll be in deeper trouble and everything is going to be bigger than what we can handle." She stops rubbing his shoulder comfortingly and turns to look at us, "We have to take this risk while we have at least some control over the situation"

"So—", Sebastian starts, "what are we doing?"

Everyone looks at victor and he looks deep in thought. With one hand on his hip and the other massaging his temple, he sighs, "we have to hurry up, we don't have time. Knowing the council, they'll be here early tomorrow morning."

"Noel and I will take care of the kids while you go pack. Just stuff anything into any bag."

I nod and immediately run up the stairs. I enter my room and start throwing some clothes into a small bag. Then I go to javier's room and throw some clothes into the bag just in case and it doesn't take anything to zip the bag.

When I get downstairs, I don't even get a word out as victor doesn't waste time ushering me out of the house and into the car. I get into the back seat and keep the bag beside me, Casper carefully places a sleeping Javier in my arms. He gets into the driver seat as Noel takes his place beside him in the passenger seat.

Before Casper can drive off, I see Alexa walk over to the car. "I know it might not be my place to say this but please be safe, we'll do whatever we can to keep you safe from here."

"Thank you.", I breath out and dig into the bag and bring out a small pouch filled with crushed chamomile, "Use this on Natalie, have her smell this every six hours to slow down the dying process. I'm sorry that I can't be here to save Natalie but I'm going to everything I can." I give her an awkward one arm hug, "I wasn't that confident in my abilities after coming back from the vampire territory but I promise that I will save Natalie. I won't let anything happen to her."

"Thank you so much." Her voice breaks and she quickly pulls away and wipes her tears, "you have to go now."

I shut the door as she steps back and Casper immediately starts driving, it takes a while for us to reach my grandparents house and through out the trip, I expect noel to pick a fight with Casper but he doesn't. He just keeps on glancing at me through the rearview mirror.

The car finally comes to a stop when we arrive and we all get out of the car. As I carry Javier up the steps to the door, It seems like he's just asleep instead of a deep sleep that could kill him.

Noel knocks on the door of Luna and Don's house and it doesn't take long for Faye to swing the door open.

She rolls her eyes and has a small smile grace her face, "You know I left so I would stop seeing your face."

Noel pushes past her, "I'm not pleased to see you either."

Faye's small smile turns into a frown as she chases after Noel allowing Casper and I to enter the house, "Couldn't you pretend to be nicer?"

He turns with a smile and pulls her into a hug, "Come on, I was just joking." he lightly slaps her pouting face.

"It's odetta, Casper and Noel." Quinn shouts over shoulder and turns to to us before coming over to hug me and then Noel, "We were just about to have dinner. Wanna join us?"

Noel strokes her hair, "I don't think we have that time Quinn."

"Is there anything wrong?" Quinn pulls back from the hug with a worried look on her face.

"We'll explain in a bit just call the others." I say as I go to the living room and take a seat.

Casper, Noel and Faye do the same as Quinn goes to call our grandparents. They don't take him to rush into the living room.

"What's wrong?" Grandpa immediately says as he rushes into the living room.

"We need somewhere to hide odetta."

"Hide?" Luna asks as she wipes her hands on her apron and the rest just look at me with a curious gaze, "Why do you need to hide sweetie?"

"It's a long story but shit happened and odetta had to talk to mason but the problem is mason is dead now and odetta is a suspect. We can't allow them to take hold of her for God knows how long and let Javier die."

It seems to take them a few seconds to process everything noel just said.

"What's all this about Javier dying?" Grandma asks at the same time Faye asks."Mason is dead? How? And why were you going to see him in the first place?"

"Casper can't seem to keep her out of trouble.", Noel rolls his eyes.

I open my mouth to defend Casper but grandma's shriek cuts me off, "what do you mean you can't let Javier die? What's wrong with my baby?"

I clutch Javier in my arms and tears threaten to fall as it hits me again, "It's a long story and we're very sorry but we can't explain. The longer we spend explaining, the more time we waste." Casper explains.

Luna glares at him, "What do you mean you can't explain? My great grandson is about to die and you're telling me you can't waste time explaining."

"I hate to agree with Casper on this but we can't waste time explaining. We desperately need your help."

There's silence for a while and hank speaks up, "what do we need to do?"

I hear Casper sigh in relief beside me, "we need somewhere to hide odetta while I stay here and find a way to take care of this mess."

"It has to be a place where no one would even think of and a place where we can't cause inconvenience around us. Just for a while, until all this dies down and I can save Javier and Natalie." I explain.

Luna and Don share a look before speaking, "I think we know a place. Somewhere far from here."
