"You are welcome to come back here anytime." The king tells me as he shakes my hand.
My three days here in the vampire territory are already up. I smile at him and hope that he really doesn't hold a grudge against me since I had just told him yesterday that his family was dead.
Edna takes a hold of my other hand and squeezes it, "from what you've told us, this seems like a situation that is bigger than you all. Please don't hesitate to ask of help from us."
"There is a high probability that a vengeful human is wandering somewhere out there hoping to cause harm to us so I suggest that we stick together." The king tells me releasing his hold on my hand and takes a step back, "Whatever you need, an army or a place to stay—anything at all, we will gladly help you."
"Thank you for my daughter. I know she's in a better place. Send our gratitude to your king." Edna finally says and steps back too, allowing me to climb aboard the train.
I sit by the window seat in hopes that the beautiful snow covered landscape can improve my mood but it doesn't. My mind still goes back to the events of yesterday. Maybe if they had asked for help sooner, all of these wouldn't have happened. I feel disappointed in my powers and lack of ability, maybe if it were Dakota, she would have done something. She might've saved that little girl.
I remember the look that Edna gave me, grief and heartbreak hidden behind a mask of smiles and gratefulness. I do not know the heart of a grieving mother and hope that I never do. I can't imagine how I would feel if something terrible happens to either Javier or my little one.
Sebastian notices my distress and squeezes my hand in reassurance, "are you okay odetta?"
"I don't really know." I sigh.
I need Casper. I need to cry in the arms of my mate and have his warmth and comfort surround me. I press my head against the glass letting the cool surface comfort me in the meantime.
Sleeping yesterday night after breaking the terrible news to the royal family was hard and I stayed up all night tossing and turning. I try not to sleep during the train ride incase I speak to the man in my dreams but it consumes me immediately.
The next time I open my eyes, I see the green landscapes of the werewolf capital through the window and feel the train slowly coming to a stop . When the train comes to a complete stop, I look out the window to see Victor standing beside a car.
I frown in disappointment. I was hoping to see Casper.
Victor immediately starts walking towards Sebastian and I as we step out from the train. I notice the look of panic on his face.
"Victor is everything al—"
"We need to go now, we need to hurry up." He starts rushing me to the car.
I'm getting uneasy, "what do you mean victor?"
"No time to explain. The kids—I don't—you need to hurry up now."
My heart stops for a split moment, "Is Javier okay?", I frantically ask as Sebastian and I getting into the car. The look he gives me already tells me all the answer I need to know.
He gets into the driver's seat and immediately starts driving. His driving is reckless and fast and if I wasn't already preoccupied with thoughts on Javier, I would have been fearing for my life.
I say a silent prayer to the moon goddess, hoping that whatever happened wasn't life threatening . Although, the drive back home was fast, it feels like forever to me.
We finally stop in front of the house and the car doesn't come to a complete stop before I jump out the car and start running towards the house.
I swing the door open not bothering to shut it close and start up the stairs, "Javier?—Casper?"
"Cas—", I see him running towards me and I breath out a sigh of relief, "Casper where is he? Where is Javier? Is he okay?"
He doesn't answer my questions and instead pulls me into a hug, I push him away, "Casper what the hell is wrong?"
"I—I don't—I don't know what happened, he and Natalie just wouldn't wake up." He runs his hand through his hair and pulls at it, "what if—"
I don't let him finish his sentence and push pass him towards the direction of Javier's room. There, I see Isabella clutching zoey to her side. Javier and Natalie are on the bed lying side by side while zoey clutches her sisters hand with a blank look of her face.
"What the hell is going on here?" I ask as I stare at the two children laying on the bed.
Alexa snaps out of her blank stare and looks in my direction. When she finally realizes that it is me, she runs towards me with tears streaming down her face.
"I don't know what happened? They just wouldn't wake up." She sobs into my shoulder.
I look at javier scared out of my mind. I had to do something fast.
I leave the room and run down the stairs. I see victor unloading my suitcases from the trunk. Taking it from him, I zip it open and hurriedly take the herbs and other equipments before running back into the house.
Please I beg you moon goddess save Javier.
When I arrive back at the room, I frantically mix the herbs to create the potion, careful not to mess it up lest I have to redo it and time is of the essence.
I finish making the mixture and turn to the rest who were looking at me with expectant eyes, "which one of the has been sleeping the longest."
"Natalie." Alexa immediately answers, "is there something wrong? Does that mean something?"
I put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down, "I'm going to try and fix it. Trust me."
She swallows and takes a deep breath while nodding, "what do I need to do?"
"Help me get her to swallow this."
With the help of Alexa, I get Natalie to swallow the mixture. I take a seat beside the sleeping child and hold her hand, it's thankfully warm which is a good sign.
I look at them all, "there is no guarantee that Natalie is alive or everything is all right. The vampire's great great great grand daughter is already dead. I couldn't get to her in time. But I promise to try my best."
Alexa takes hold of my free hand, "please save my daughter, I don't know what I'll do if she—" Sobs wrack her body, robbing her of her ability to speak.
"I can't promise anything. I can only promise to my best."
I tip my head back and take the mixture. The feeling of sleep comes with the bitter after taste and I lean back and shit my eyes waiting for my rouse into natalie's deep sleep state.
I open my eyes and this time I'm surprised to be met with a dense fogginess instead of darkness. I pray not to meet the man from before.
The air here feels wrong and the same terrible feeling I had when I explored the vampire king great great great grand daughter's subconscious. I press my hand to the floor and it feels like her life force is declining.
This is bad news.
I force myself back to the real world. I jolt awake and make eye contact with Alexa when I open my eyes..
"I think Natalie is dying."
She gasps and silent tears stream down her face, "Is there any way to stop this. I can't let my baby girl die."
"I don't know but we're going to get to the root of this. We aren't going to let another child die." I swear.

I had a big chop earlier this year and now it's grown a bit, I'm thinking of dyeing it. Or, maybe I should just leave it be.
