After watching the sunrise with Dakota and trying to train with my wolf, she says that I need to rebond with my wolf since it's been years, She walks me home and I arrive at the house at maybe seven in the morning. The sky is bright now and if I concentrate hard enough, I can hear the early bustle of people. I walk in after Dakota refuses all offer to have breakfast with us and immediately Javier runs to me and hugs me.

"Where were you?" He asks, "I was so worried."

I go down on one knee and ruffle his hair, "I was with your Grandma. No need to worry, I was safe."

He breathes out a sigh of relief, "I was worried that you left."

"I would never leave you okay?"

He hugs me, "promise?"

"Promise." I say back.

I stand up and he leads me to the kitchen where Isabella is making breakfast.

"What are we eating?" I yawn.

"Where were you? We were so worried. Your guard almost tore the house down looking for you."

"I was with the Oracle. I'm so sorry for disappearing without letting anyone know."

She shrugs, "It's okay. You're back now and Casper hasn't noticed. I know he's gonna be on your back about it."

"We're having waffles and egg by the way." She answers my earlier question.

I go upstairs to my room and brush my teeth before taking a quick shower. I brush my hair, leaving it to air dry and put on a black T-shirt and washed out jeans. I slide my feet into my favorite pair of fuzzy slippers before I leave my room and head downstairs.

"Where were you?" Sebastian asks as I enter the kitchen.

"I was with the oracle Sebastian—I doubt she will try to kill me."

He frowns, "At least inform me when you leave."

"I highly doubt that you would've appreciated me waking you up by four in the morning to tell you that I'm going out."

"You left by four?" They all exclaim at once. Their voices an uncomfortable mix.

I put my my hands up in mock surrender, "The oracle was calling, I couldn't leave her hanging."

"The patrol guards could have killed you." Isabella said.

"She's right. They could've hurt you." Sebastian adds.

"But I'm sure, the Oracle wouldn't have let you get hurt."

Sebastian ignores what Isabella said, "If anything happened to you, guess whose head will be hanging from your father's wall?"

"Have I told you that you're dramatic?"

"I'm serious Odetta, Please don't go running off like that."

"I can't promise that. I'm going to be running off at random times in the morning. Maybe even at night."

"Miss Odetta. Please." H warns and i resist the urge to smile. It's almost too easy to rile him up.

My phone rings as he gives me a disapproving look. I smile at him and answer the phone call.

"How are you holding up there in the capital?" It's my Mother.

"Good. I have been meeting the oracle lately."

"Really? Why?"

"I'm just learning a thing or two." I shrug and try to sound nonchalant about it.

"I for one, think it's a great idea."

"It really is."

"And alpha Casper?"

I frown at the mention of his name, "what about him?"

"Your sister has been talking and you know, I'm inclined to believe that you two—" She trails off but I understand what she's trying to say.

"Mom. No." I whine.

She laughs, "Okay, I'm sorry. Have you met your grandparents?"

"Yeah. I forgot how much I missed them. I'm going to see them again, very soon."

"How are they holding up?"

"Good I guess. They're still the same as were."

"Next time you see them, tell them we'll be visiting during Christmas."

"Got it."

"And Everyone says Hi."

"Tell them I said Hi too."

"I have to go now my love. Remember, we love you." She makes kissing sounds and hangs up. I put my phone back in the front pocket of my jeans.

"Remember we love you." Sebastian imitates and makes the same kissing noises. "They won't have a daughter to love if you keep running off."

"He is dramatic." Isabella laughs and plates up breakfast for us.

We eat and I finish eating before Victor or Alpha Casper come down.

"Thank you for the breakfast Isabella." I tell her with a smile before looking at Javier, "Where is your father by the way?"

He takes a moment to think, "In his office, I guess."

"Where is his office?"

"It's all the way in the city. He and Victor left quite early this morning in a rush." Isabella chimes in.

I groan in annoyance. If I'm going to the city, might as well turn it to a day trip.

"We're going out Javi and Sebastian so eat up."

Isabella has a driver drive us to his office later in the afternoon, After we've eaten and changed. He parks in the car park beside the huge building which just said 'Lyall'.

"This way." Javier leads us out of the car park and into the building.

No one questions us when they see Javier with by our side. We hold hands as he tugs me faster. I have to hold him back and slow his pace. Unlike him, I'm not excited to see Alpha Casper. We enter the elevator and Javier stretches and hits a button before the doors close and we start going up.

We reach the last floor and Javier starts pulling me towards a large door.

"Excuse me miss, is Alpha Lyall expecting you?" The woman behind the desk asks.

"Um—I don't–"

Javier cuts me off, "We're here to see my dad", he says but she's not even focused on us anymore. She's staring at Sebastian. All the women can't resist him.

I clear my throat and she snaps out of her trance "Sorry." She mutters as she blushes, "You can go in."

"Are you coming Sebastian?"

He's still staring at the woman and shakes his head, "Don't worry I'll be right here."

"Of course you will." I smile.

I don't hear anything as I near the door but once I open it slightly, I hear Alpha Casper's raised voice. Which poor soul is the recipient for his anger now. He immediately shuts his mouth as Javier and I enter the room.

He smiles at the sight of Javier. "How is my little Alpha?"

"He's fine daddy." Javier answers and hugs him, "you look tired."

Alpha Casper gives a half-hearted smile, "It's because I haven't seen you in a while but now that you're here, I feel better already."

I notice Victor sitting on a sofa to by the side, "Hey victor. You look worse than your Alpha."

"He's also half the reason, I look like this. But i get paid well enough."

"Of course you're getting paid, who the hell hangs out with him willingly." I tease and Victor laughs. I can feel Alpha Casper staring at me.

"I'm sure you didn't come all the way here to chat with little old me. I'll get Javier out of your hair."

I nod, "Thanks."

He smiles as he grabs Javier's hand.

"I'll be quick so we can go out okay?" I tell Javier and look at Victor, "Be careful on your way out. Sebastian and the woman outside might not be decent."

Victor's eyes widen when he gets what I mean and he struggles not to laugh. He nods before he leaves, tugging Javier behind me.

"So what do you want?", He asks and leans on the table. I take a seat on the sofa that victor just vacated. I ignore my wolf who seems to start react to Alpha Casper.

"We need to talk."

He scoffs, "I obviously assume that you didn't come to stare at me."

Was i staring?

I narrow my eyes at him. How am I meant to love this man? Dakota must be crazy. I ignore him and think of the real reason I'm here.

"Would anyone be able to eavesdrop on our conversation?"

"The door is sound proof."

"I had a talk with oracle Dakota," I start, "And she told me that Javier is special and something is coming." I say slowly and watch his expression carefully but he doesn't give anything away, "She said that you would explain."

He doesn't say anything for a while, he just stares at me.I shift in my seat, uncomfortable under his stare.

"What else did she tell you?"

"That Javier has some sort of blood but it's stronger in him. Something along those lines."

"It wasn't her place to tell you." He says and I worry that we might argue about this but he just takes a deep breath, "She obviously trusts you enough to tell you. And i trust her."

"Javier is special. He has phoenix blood in him which gives him the ability to manipulate, control and produce fire."

My eyes widen, "you're not shitting me right?"

"Does this look like the face of someone who is joking?" His expression hasn't even changed since we started talking.

"His blood–Dakota says can give immortality. As you can expect, it's dangerous for him which is why I need him safe twenty four-seven."

"Doesn't oracle Dakota have the same blood and—his mother. Are they in danger too?"

"Adrianna actually–" He pauses. "That's why she died, they thought that she was the one with the stronger blood that's why she was killed." His jaw clenches.

"Does Javier know?"

He shakes this head, "He knows that he's special and people shouldn't know about it but he doesn't know that he could be killed. I don't want to tell a five year old that. It's not something he should worry about."

"Is he safe now?"

"He's the least safe now." He says as he takes his seat behind his desk.

"What do you mean?"

"Adrianna died because of a small mistake which let them in. They're obviously coming back stronger than ever now that they failed."

"I have men dying and notes being sent. They have pictures of him sleeping sent, they even sent one of you."

"What the fuck?"

"I don't know how and why they haven't attacked yet or even where they are." He groans, he sounds frustrated and he put his face on his hands and stays there for a while.

I hesitantly make my way over to him. I place my hands on his shoulders. They tense under my touch and soon they relax.

"I just don't know what to do. I failed Adrianna and I can't fail Javier." He mutters. "You should probably leave before it gets worse."

"Are you kidding me? I'm not going anywhere. I know I haven't know Javier for long but the moon Goddess sent him to me. I'm sure. And I'll do whatever it takes to protect him."

I squeeze his shoulder at my final words. It should feel wrong touching him like this but it doesn't it.

"Thank you."

I want to ask him who 'They' were but he is already stressed enough. I can ask about it another day.

"You look rough. Have you gotten any sleep lately?" I murmur and pull my hands from his shoulder. I might be wrong but i hear a sound of protest leave his lips.

"I can't lie and say Yes. I have Pack duties as well as all this shit with Javier. I can't afford to just rest."

"You need to go back to the house. You're not gonna be doing anyone good in this state."

He looks at me, "No. I need to take care of this."

"Don't be stubborn. You'll can take care of it at home after you've eaten and gotten rest." I tell him and start arranging and stacking the papers on his desk. When I'm done, I carry the papers and look at alpha Casper who is just staring at me.

"I'll have Victor take you home." I say but he doesn't react. I almost groan, I thought we were going somewhere. "Did I do something wrong or disrespect you this time?" I ask.

He ignores my tone and shakes his head, "Thank you." He simply mutters which shocks me.

He stands up and takes his jacket spread on the backrest of the chair in front of him. We walk out and he locks the door behind him and his face contorts into one of confusion as he takes in the sight in front of him.

Sebastian and the woman are locking lips and I'm surprised. Can they even breath like that?

Alpha Casper clears his throat.

"Oh, shit I'm sorry sir." She says hurriedly as she pulls away from a blushing Sebastian. Honestly, they could be in worse positions.

"It's okay. You can leave early today." He just says and walks away. He hold the door open for me as I pass and we see Victor and Javier playing a game.

Victor raises an eyebrow at me, "I spy with my little eyes a flustered guard."

"Hope you got her number Sebastian." I say and victor and I laugh.

"Where are we gonna go now ody?", Javier asks as we enter the elevator.

I bite the inside of my cheek and glance at Alpha Casper. I want to make sure he gets home safe and eats a proper meal.

"I'll be okay. You and Javier can enjoy your day."

"I think we can do that tomorrow. Can't we Javi?"

"Is it because of Daddy?"

"Yeah. We need to make sure he gets home safely and gets some much needed rest."

"Okay."

We start to leave.

"Do you have your car here Victor?", I ask when we leave the building.

"Yes."

I purse my lips think of a new way to get Casper and his Car home without him driving.

"Why do you ask?"

"Sebastian would you make sure that Javier gets home safely with Victor?"

"Sure?"

"I can't let any of these men to drive in their current state so I'll be driving Alpha Casper. You drive Victor."

"I can drive myself." He grunts.

"In your current state? Pff No. As much as I would enjoy my life better if you were not around, I'd prefer you lived.

He doesn't say anything, not a word or a sound to argue with me. This–is–surprising. Maybe when he gets his energy back, he'll return to his annoying self.
